I dont have a UB820. But i had bought a lower end panasonic 4k model in 2020 that had a similar issue. It stopped reading discs after like 12 months, but i had only used it a couple of times during that timeframe. Thankfully, it was just barely still under warranty, so they sent me a replacement. Havent had a problem since.
No, thankfully I have had zero playback issues w/ my 820. I will have had it for 2yrs come April. I don’t know why someone was saying buy Sony that would be taking a step backwards in my view. Hopefully, you won’t run into any more issues. 👍🏻
Thanks. Yeah, hopefully there won't be any more issues. I just wanted to record the issue and definitely get some feedback or suggestions about the issue. I really love the player though.
I only had an issue once with it not playing one of my criterion blu rays but it worked after doing the power reset like you talked about in this video. As for the disc not working - is this the only disc you’ve had a problem with? Do you have access to another 4k player like a Series X or PS5 that you can test it with? It could be just the disc. Also, deactivating BD Live and BD secondary audio might solve the pop up. I haven’t had the issue myself though.
I made a video about this player it’s had 12,000 odd views clearly a lot of people have been having various issues. My problem was artefacting I used a Criterion disc as an example, I’ve since moved on and now have a Reavon player no issues.
I have the same player, do you ever use your tv remote to control the player? If so, it can cause that to pop up and then be home unable to take off. That's my experience, so now I only use the DVD remote for all controls
Yeah, sometimes, if not half the time I use the LG remote. It's usually more convenient for me. I'll try to use mostly the Panasonic remote to see if that helps. Thanks!
Have you disabled access to BDlive in the settings. This causes an issue with this player since bdlive no longer is active. Also sometimes bdlive gets activated when the player gets an update. Hopefully this helps
@ no problem, bud if you keep having problems, I would just get a Sony or the two year warranty for 20 bucks. You know what happens when you get a two year warranty nothing ever breaks during the warranty so you should be good.
Have you guys had any issues with the Panasonic UB820 4K player? Also, ignore the wires 🤣. I'm going to fix it.
The most recent update killed 3D BluRay playback 🤬
What! I didn't hear about this either. I don't have a 3D tv, but either way, that's BS, as I'm sure that's why some people bought the player.

Hah yeah hope not. But its about 3/4 years old now so im good. Love the channel and content sir.
@ Thank you! I appreciate it.

I’ve seen that once. It went away for me without unplugging it though.
Give it time... 🤣😳
@ Nooooo!!!

Thanks for your suggestions, Christopher! I've had the disc error with The Addiction, but that was only once as well.

12k 😳 damn! Hell yeah! I'm happy for you. I'll check it out. I haven't had any artifacting issues.
No problems with my Panasonic UB820 4K player. I bought it in 2019. Mine plays flawless like Beyonce.🥰
Flawless like Beyonce 🤣. Hell yeah!

No. Thank you! I'll have to disable it.
Ouch it's not supposed to make those noises 😂
It was speaken a different language 🤣
The only 4k player I own is my PS5
Ain't nothing wrong with that!
Get a Sony you’ll be happy
Thanks for the suggestion!

@ 🤣 you're definitely right about the warranty. Literally day one after it expires something will break.
