Based on the description quote, I can only assume that in this examination we are the torso of Anakin Skywalker getting a friendly full face examination just a few hours after waking up in the iconic Vader suit. I'm imagining the face of Darth Vader from the end of Return of the Jedi just staring at Fred the whole time, wondering where the hell Palpatine got this weird doctor from and why they couldn't just use a medical droid. Also, Fred complimenting us for simply being able to use our eyes and ears properly makes a lot more sense if we're fresh out of the bacta tank from having a torso tanning session next to a lava flow.
