that trk at 8:40 is the eliminator album....dam reminds me of a kid in the 70's and my Dad and all his buddies had trk's, railcars, dunebuggies all with those paddle tires on em and every weekend we would race them out in the dunes and the 100 yd'r he also had a 78 Bronco (new at the time) that he took to Gary Johns and would run 178 mph, street legal and had just TA's on it - he would charge a small dune and getting airborn at 5 yrs old with aqualung blaring was memories i will never never forget. sorry bout the ramble but that truck at the end so reminded me of that - thanks!
Man oh man my heart is a thumpin ! I friggin love this stuff and it totally amazes me as to the horsepower some of these machines are pumping out. Awesome !!!!! Hell you guys know how to enjoy yourselves !
Would love to see an electric powered sand dune climber. Imagine a sand rail with tesla batteries and motors? In insanity mode the torque would blast it up there!
+paul bonethruster not so sure about that. Have you seen any videos of Tesla model S drag racing in insanity mode? They got monster amounts of torque.. I have watched the electric cars on the drag strip, they pure evil! They going to come and conquer all.
ThingsDemystified thank you! At least there is one person out there that also knows just how powerful they are. The torque from zero revs is amazing, way in excess of what any combustion engine could make and this is the launching power and the huge push that really gets things moving.
I love the silver lake dunes. Went there once and will probably go many more times. Planning on going again this yea as well. Great video man. GO SILVER LAKE!
cool video.. havnt been to silver lake since i was 8, i grew up in southern calfornia so i went to gordons and glamis.. would like to make a trip to silver lake sometime again.
This is a timed event that has been going on in the same place for over 30 years. It's about speed for most of the big boys. The hill has moved about 50 yards or better since it's inception. The sand dunes are all along the coast line of Lake Michigan with various names. This particular tract of dunes was created after a fire while it was being logged for lumber to send to Chicago after it had it's big fire around the turn of the century. It was an accident!
That sound is his timing setup..most cars use either a chain or a belt to set the timing from the crankshaft to the camshaft. However he is using called a "gear drive" where the timing is set Via gear to gear ratio for more precise timing. thus giving the timing a high pitched wine when spooled up at higher RPM's. Hope that answers your question. :)
Like what, sticking garbage to a board and calling it "art" to displayed in the finer art studios of New York? It's a hobby and a pastime for many people. If it provides fun and camaraderie between friends, it's money well spent.
are the runs judged on time as well , or just strictly whether you make it up the hill or not ? I ask because it seems like a few of the early ones kind of just "puttered" up the hill in no particular hurry... looks like fun. Was going to say the hill doesnt look all that steep, but the fact that its loose sand adds a whole other dimension.. Cool vid, thumbs up for sure !
Haha it's a roots-type supercharger. It forces air into the engine using two spinning rods with medium-sized interlocking straight-cut grooves as its impellers. As the overlapping grooves are spun at thousands of rpm, they pull air in by trapping it between their overlap and then force it down into the engine (basically). At the same time, these rods make an incredible screaming whine which rises and falls in pitch based on engine rpm (and therefore rpm of the spinning rods). They sound awesome!
@superhot340 your best asking that question on Sand Drag Central, or the Quad Killer, who owns the Pro Truck Nationals Series and Richards Auto Parts, he knows most of the heavy hitters.
The newest RR i'm on the fence about, even the p38 RR's (the ones similar in years to the discos, could do really well off road with a little work) and the newest Disco's or "LR 3/4" in the states have seen some pretty tough stuff so far but the jury is still out on if they will be on par with the older Discos. but I was pretty impressed by a stock on with only tires. He didn't follow on the moderate/difficult trails and went back to camp.
I gotta say that blue Chevy at 6:30 has impressed me in every video I've seen of it.
Hello guys pls subceibe my channel
Man, those red & silver Chevy's HOOKED UP! That was awesome.
i love the way this video is put together, just one right after the other. no bullshit. this is phenomenal.
Great video quality , Perfect editing , great video angles, no music, high quality machines!!!! AWESOME VIDEO
So did anyone make it to the top lol? Camera man cuts off right before the top of the hill
+RevoPwns Yup, most did, The video is cut off, because that is the end of the pass and top of the hill.

Spectacular Video, Nice to see a video edited properly, and NO obnoxious music drowning out the soundtrack..
Its amazing how some of these trucks barely make it while others have to let off so they don't fly off the other side. Good video

emaxx0165 hmmm, if you call 713 bhp and 713 lb ft of torque gay then maybe you got a point. What is a wildcat packing by the way?
Andrew Wilson اللعاب
Electric motors are awesome! They are what you want if you want torque.
ThingsDemystified thank you! At least there is one person out there that also knows just how powerful they are. The torque from zero revs is amazing, way in excess of what any combustion engine could make and this is the launching power and the huge push that really gets things moving.

How boring is this ?? I could climb it on a Donkey !
I'd like to have that on video please!
DuneTV1 your video is ausome
Boring is a state of mind which applies to the individual who is bored. It has no objective relevance to any activity.
Lmao
lel
@mohammedwisam Are they running Alcohol? I noticed that they have that alcohol crackling sound in their motors. Or are they running NOS?
Question is how fast did you do it, It's a timed event.
i WANT that one at 5:01!
I can smell the Nitromethane from here.
dont we all.
O
+Bayu Setiyono magi
E3guyy same!!!!!
Clearly not a tough enough hill.
It's a timed event and they are subject to running that hill only.
Have you seen that hill in person? That is a big hill. This video doesn't show how big it really is.
Brett Clark
When nearly everyone makes it up, it's not a tough enough hill.

What kind of fuel mixture do these things run one (Refering to the ones that sound like top fuel dragsters)
WTF??? Cameraman have some kind of problem having any of them finish? Wonder if he has the same problem with women?

the new aluminum ecoboost f150 would have eat up all those other noisy junk trucks.
deon sanders if ten people pushed it up.
Carla Rodgers maybe if it was the dodge power wagon
deon sanders yeah bullshit
might need a Chevy to pull that tin can up a hill
gentlemanmango I guess you didn't watch the video. All the Fords made it but not all the shitys, cough, chevys made it.
some lovely engines in there - gotta love the driver backing off the throttle half way up to avoid getting airborne off the top!
those were all wicked as hell!! Loooove that silver chevy!
Lame..
3 other folks agree. Sometimes less is more. To bad your so offended.
Too bad all that money couldn't be put to something good
Like what, sticking garbage to a board and calling it "art" to displayed in the finer art studios of New York?
It's a hobby and a pastime for many people. If it provides fun and camaraderie between friends, it's money well spent.
love the two strokes.
@DuneTV1 That is some of the best racing video out there - bare none
They can use any combination on the tires, I've seen some run slicks on the front of 4wd vehicles.
Great vid....looks like a blast....

Does the course go up the hill at an angle? The reason I ask is when a vehicle goes off course it’s usually to the left.
think you could use some of these trucks / sand rails for mud drags?
That silver Chevy sounds amazing
Nice camera work!!! and thanks for not overlaying music.
Is there a deisel class? Good video.
Thanks

are u allowed fiddle brakes on the rear to steer when fronts off the ground?
Love the Chevy at the end! Real pretty
Awesome video!
stupid question but why is there allways a headlight covered on the jeeps?
Some Torque there.!.lot them engines and transmissions sound as sweet as..well done guys..
There is an incredible amount of power and low air pressure in the tires, not to mention the weight transfer.
Sick video! Only thing better than watching these would be driving them ;D
Great video 🚗

Hey thanks, I thought picture in a picture was going to be too busy for the computer screen, what do I know. lol
Where's a good place to go to learn more about building a vehicle for this? I'm particularly curious about that Blazer at 6:30...
Great video!!
Thank you
Was that nitrous purging at the end? it sounded like it
Why do some of these cars have one light taped off or something? Thanks
thanks for sharing!
Please, someone explain me - what`s so exciting about it ?
Anyone can tell me the model and info on the 2 pickups? the red and the silver, thanks!
Cameras do a really good job at making big hills look small.
What engine was in the yellow Jeep?
Where can I find more videos of the Orange Jeep at 6:05 ?!?!
where does one find something like this ?
what typ of engines are they use?
That yellow jeep at 5:50-6:30, was that monster truck engine he used?
There are some BEASTS running on this hill. Geez.
these trucks are awesome.
Thanks!
@DuneTV1 Whats film?
Yea thought so... I was wondering with what they are powered.
This will hit the recommended tab soon
That is so awesome
The silver Chevy at the end of this video...O....M....G!!!
