I don't think the flies are normally that bad to be honest. There was some bad fires that went through a few months before that caused the birds to flee and therefore no predators to eat the flies (at least that's what people said!) 😅
The first day was pretty bad, because we didnt know how to deal with them. After a few days you get used to it and just ignore them. There was numerous people on the trail without fly nets and they looked miserable
Wow I actually hadn’t seen the extent of the fire from TBR ground! I have done the end to end 4 times but the last was june 2018... so very sad to see this but I’ll be back in a couple of weeks and I’m sure it’s not as scarred now! Heard this years unusual wet season has seen some super long grass! Great vid guys... so much food 😂😂😂😂
Wow four times is amazing! We haven't had the chance to do many trails multiple times yet, it would be so interesting to see how the landscape changes. From more recent photos it does look like the environment has recovered well. Enjoy your trek 🙂
Glad to hear that! They werent nearly as bad near the end of our trip as it was getting colder each day. We heard stories of people getting off the track because the flies were so bad and they didnt bring a fly net
If you decide to use a trek support company during your hike, they generally include transport to/from the trail + 3 food drops along the hike. The company we used and highly recommend are Larapinta Trail Trek Support
@@jessisworld7710 sorry, I somehow missed this! Here is the link for the transport company packages: www.treksupport.com.au/larapinta-trail-e2e-trek-packages We went with the most basic package for two people, I believe it was $440 for two hikers. I'm pretty sure transport alone to/from Redbank Gorge will cost around $150 pp anyways, so it's good value with the food drops included.
Used one of those car jumper battery packs and a 12v car charger, then I used a solar panel on the back of my bag to charge that. If I were to do it again, I would just buy the Mavic Mini 2, which can be charged by a 45W USB-C power bank
Completely agree and thank you for being honest! I have a hard time watching this video as well because of the music choices; especially the third song. I was trying to make it come off as "epic", but it just came off as cringey. For me personally, choosing music is the hardest part of editing. Live and learn though! That's how we'll grow and get better. We've thought about making a re-edit to better music, or making a "silent version"; so we may do that in the near future. We have a "highlights" version of our end to end, that you may enjoy more. Still tried to go for the "epic" feel, but I think it works a bit better. Thanks again!
@@ChrisandDanya Wow what a nice reply haha. I really loved the video and thought you really captured some awesome shots. Loved the descriptions too. I agree about the music though haha
Thanks for the support! We're definitely going to do a re-edit of Part 1. The music in the other Larapinta videos aren't too bad, so will probably stay as is. It may take a while to get done though, as we've got some other videos to finish off first. Thanks again!
My god, the flies! I thought the sandflies at the Port Craig hut on the Hump Ridge Track were bad, but this is just mental.

Looks like a great hike but man I could not tolerate those flys.

I did it in August of that year. the flies weren’t bad at all!
Glad to hear that! They werent nearly as bad near the end of our trip as it was getting colder each day.

What does this service cost? We’re looking at doing this trail end of April.

How did you charge your drone?

Just starting to watch but the music is so irritating
Yeah agreed, it was a bad choice 😅
Been thinking about re-editing with better music
I really wanted to watch this but your music selection was pretty bad so I couldn't finish.
