- The PlayStation 2 generation was a boom time for video games developed in India. Games included Hanuman: The Boy Warrior, Don 2: The Game, RA One: The Game, and Desi Adda: Games of India.
Over the past couple of decades, India has emerged as a burgeoning hub for video game development, contributing to the global gaming landscape with a unique blend of creativity and technical expertise.
With the industry's roots firmly planted in the early 2000s, studios such as Dhruva Interactive, Ubisoft Pune, and Indiagames played pivotal roles in shaping the trajectory of Indian game development.
As technology advanced and the market expanded, a new generation of independent game developers and studios emerged, crafting games that reflected not only India's rich cultural tapestry but also showcased the nation's prowess in innovation and storytelling.
Titles like "Raji: An Ancient Epic" and "Asura" exemplify the diverse narratives and artistic styles that Indian game developers bring to the table. As the industry continues to grow, supported by a rising number of skilled professionals and a global audience hungry for fresh perspectives, India stands poised to make increasingly significant contributions to the ever-evolving world of video games.

I have a PS2, would love to re-visit these games if i can get my hands on them XD
Just download the ROM and burn it on a disk. Or even better, use an emulator on a PC to run them.

Street Cricket champions was my favourite ✨
W for you man simply W
Yeah man I got it free with my PSP, it was a very good game. I got Hanuman free with my PS2 and this tells that Sony was pushing Indian developed game free with the consoles.

Cart Kings was the best game
Cart Kings was OP man I miss my childhood now.
India is good at a lot of things, but video games ain’t it 😂
Don't talk to me until you've played the Ghajini tie-in game in all its 480p glory.
Street cricket 2 was decent but don 2 was hot shit
Agreed
They're getting better though. I really enjoyed Venba despite it being very short
Wait a few more years
I have played Don 2 and Street Cricket 2 in the ps2. Memories 🥺
Yes. It was a bundle pack with the ps2 slim. I remember my father bought it for me.
Some of these games are a little rare so they fetch a few hundred dollars today.
Scammers new idea 💡 make knockoffs 😅
Who would pay that much for a game with potato graphics 😂

@KarlRock Thanks for shedding some light foreign games , these games should get a release globally . I love finding out what we didn't get over here
You can probably download the ROMs for free and use an emulator to play them
I don't know if they should get a global release but they are neat.
@@danielegglord Some of the best games have been only released in the east
These games are PAL region, so you could play them in Europe or Australia
@@liammeech3702 on a modded ps2 too in bet
I remember Desi Adda was usually bundled with PS2, Street Cricket was also one of the bundled games if anyone remembers, those days 😊; I used to play GTA SA with my friend at his house on PS2.

the RA ONE brings back nostalgia😢

I has Hanuman edition PS2 back in 2008 😍
Street Cricket was dope even the one for psp
I remember Cart Kings and Street Cricket were the first two video games on my PlayStation 2. It was way back in 2011. Now its been 13 years nearly.
Street cricket 2 was actually good as an Indian game.
Idk if it was really made by an Indian AAA company or an indie company but damn the quality of the game was really good for the ps2 era.
Did you play any of these games? Where they any good?
Yeah i played the cart kings like 6 or 8 years ago on my friend ps2,it still brings childhood memories back , but now its mostly all the AAA titles like gow or spiderman 😅
@@potatogaming6613 cool 👌 Cart Kings was the best game out of the bunch I think. I enjoyed it.
i own these cds but my ps2 is dead. haha
To be honest no 🥲 but I played raone game in blackberry Java game
Cart Kings and Don2 bring back soooo much memoriess
I didn't even know Raone was a video game, that explains why the movie is about video game character became real
PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN
PROUD TO HAVE BROKEN CAPS LOCK
The problem with Indian games is that you don't really get to see creativity because the imagination ends at religion or bollywood.
Same goes for movies, its biopic, religion story or a dramatized documentary.
They're so centered around money that they are afraid to experiment with new ideas in case they failed.
fact
nah imagination has no issues its the no real will to actually put money into game dev. Hiring actual skills is something no one willing to do especially when Indian gamer market is negligible.
@@aruji-sama Yes that's what I was saying. If a guy proposes an original story and another guy proposes a cliched hero/villain story then the latter would obviously take precedence because producers don't want to risk it.
@@wlockuz4467 story is the last thing we need to worry about, the technical skill required just to make a fun game, forget about good graphics which is its own thing, story is literally the last thing a investor needs to worry about. Literally no one has the will to fund a game when there is no market for it. Look at some of the best games in todays time. They take years to develop with the most hitech and skilled devs. Where are you going to find that in India plus whos gonna pay them.
It takes years of exp for a studio just to gain popularity and trust. Forget about keeping the developers in the company happy and pay them high salary.
indians are very creative and i have no doubt they can make a great story worth playing. But the technical know how and infrastructure....nope. Look at game called indus, its supposed to be a small mobile battlegrounds game but its still not out after years.
This comment concludes it up, nobody out of India is really going to play these games hanuman and whatever, the west atleast keeps religion out of pretty much every video game which results in bigger audience and better creativity with a much broader mind and options
yoo i played the hanuman one on my friend's ps2 a few yrs ago! was amazing
i never seen all ! 😮 in indonesia i just found "Raw danger" and "panzer front" at once, after search it again then become "Rare"
No.. these games are very boring.. nothing exciting or challenging in it.
🙏🙏Jai Bajrangbali 🙏🙏
I have don 2 and cart kings for psp. The last few races in cart kings was absolutely tough to beat. What fun times they were
Don 2 is an awesome 2005 movie. Gotta try the game.
Don 3 was also an entertaining movie. I was ALONE in the cinema, when watching it... I guess it is a hidden gem.
These games suck ass
someones crying asf I think
@@MadhavanWasTakenthese games are shit and gamers worldwide would agree, so much copy/paste content, literally little to no creativity, only pursuing religion and bollywood, you probably like it out of nostalgia
@@connor80059Hanuman is a best game it's not copied from other games you are propoganda against india. Play Hanuman and taik your nonsense comment letter
@@utsabghosh331 nah he is right they all sucks and they shoudlnt bring religion and culture, bollywood into gaming it ruins it plus the quality sucks

Ive played both ra one and don 2 as a kid
Hey man at least they had their own games. Back in Brazil our games were just pirated modded versions of games.
Ra one games have become collectibles now
Sometimes they sell for good amount(not like lakhs or anything) but decent price
I love india love from Indonesia 🇮🇩♥️🇮🇳
Crazy how far the graphics have come now
Ra One would've been crazier if they made it for the Kinect since the movie features body tracking to play as the character.
I remember playing Don 2 at my cousin's, it kinda slapped
My first console was ps2 with the hanuman game I used to play it everyday from Beginning cuz i didn't knew 8mb magic stick existed same goes for gta sa playing from the beginning everyday

Strange. That age restriction icons weren't released until the XBOX 360/Playstation 3 era.
Kaash meri bhi kismat itni achi hoti aajtk na hi playstation h nahi tv
they made their God as gaming character 😁
Bro don2 movie was my favorite movie when I was a kid
Cart Kings was ❤️ the free CD game in PSP Street version
Cart kings... memories flowing...🫂
Indians trying not to involve saruk khan in everything challenge: impossible
I just saw the game name Ra one in ps3 version i think and without the manual was 400 but with the manual it WAS 600 DOLLARS
Playing Street cricket in afternoon after school got canceled with some WWE. Awesome what days they were.
I wish we could develop more games for PS5 and Xbox representing our culture. The only problem is money. It takes huge capital investment for gaming studio to develop games.
hi.. i was expecting a video of you guys supporting the cricket match IND v NZ it would be so cool...
I legit returned ra one game when I had bought it lol
Don 2 was my favourite ✨✨
I remember my cousin was playing GTA 4 and NY mum was wowed by the Hindi or urdu idk the difference radio station 🇬🇧🇧🇩
