My last hamster was a really shy boy, and that's why I picked him. He screamed in the shop and he screamed the entire car ride home after I'd first bought him. Just imagine how much worse it'd have been for him if a family of screaming kids got him. I felt so bad for the little guy.
Other than feedings, treats, and regular cage-cleaning, I left him alone most of the time so he could live a relaxed, quiet life without fear of being tossed around by hyper-active kids. He was a lot more calm and mellow after the first week.
I too had a similar hamster, he always screamed untill I picked him up out his cage, sounded much like the one in this video alot of the time

They know how to take a bath when they need to.
They just need a tiny "sandbox" to roll around in. They roll around in the sand you can't get them wet.

@@ipassingthrough Hamster Needs To avoid Water Dont Put Your Hamster in The Sink They Can Die Easily Because Water Can Hurt Theyre Fur And Hamster Are Sensitive to The Tempature So Its Better To Put Them In Sand Instead Of Water
It's amazing how she was tamed so quickly! I'm sure she was just scared as she seems very gentle. I hope Topokki and her babies are doing well!

I have to say that hamsters are smart. Mine would point to things and he wanted up, he'd stand up and climb onto my hand. He also knew where all the doors were. I miss him

I beg to differ they lay flat on their back and scream instead of moving away from the predators and run right into their mouths they are stupid as shit, Rats are way smarter agile and better.

I've never heard one making that noise before. All the ones I've had as a child I played with and held them daily...a lot. Lol! One (my favorite...Lambchop) would take a nap with me. She'd curl up near my neck under my hair and nap. She was such a sweet little girl.

when my hamster was still alive we hung a fruit stick in her cage. When she saw that, she clung to it. Sometimes we helped her and put a hand whereupon she always lay down

I miss my Bubbles Houdini. He was a great friend. Teddy bear, cream colored. Huge personality. I did give him a bath once, he got stuck on a sticky mouse trap. He had many friends in the 5 states he lived in in his short life, and not just humans.
Watching your guys made me think of him. He had such a personality, and was spoiled.
My brother had a hamster who had the personality of a rat. She was super smart, obedient and playful. She also lived more than 3 years.
She screamed the first week, but I've read is about the same with rats and mices.

Aww, cute, and so true! My last hamster was screaming the entire trip home from the breeder, which was about an hour and a half, but I did give her two hides and plenty of bedding in her plastic terrarium I used for transport vessel but she was nervous and probably pretty mad too… ( she had a piece of cucumber in there, too, in case she got thirsty.) a few days after we got home, however, she started to warm up to me and we became friends!

@@LittleHouseEdits_812 The HAMSTERS ARE CUTE! The screaming is just part of the process. They can be anxious and it takes time. It happens to kittens and puppies too on the way home.
no hate btw! i have a lot of experience with hamsters and this means they are extremely scared and its actually not normal for them to do this. also hamsters are completely different species from cats and dogs so you cant compare them. at least now you know! they are really cute tho@@RyuNekohime

its cool how u can tame your hamsters so quick! But speaking of sand baths can u do a video on how to get your hamster not scared of it cause mine is terrified of it she hangs on to the sides of it so she doesnt touch (quite smart and funny but i need her to take a sand bath) she does squeak when she has it but barely.
