What's that is when they tried to take it away from him by taking a portion of any songs that he made after Idol and sued him for keeping some of that money when it was his song and I don't think Idol should have any rights to his music after his song that's not fair. And now after that they have made a policy that any Talent singing reality show cannot take any rights to anyone songs that were sung after they were off of the show.

Let me just add this kid didnt go anywhere. He went to the moon and back.. My favorite artist of them all. Maybe David Cook but that fool has nothing on what pp did for my ears.!! 💯💯🎵👌🎶
Watching this in April 2022…He is still one of the most musically gifted and authentic contestants AI has ever had! And I remember how sick he was, being hospitalized and needing surgery during the show…a total professional, he NEVER let his pain or fatigue show. I love his rendition of Beggin’. So happy to see his success up to now!
Kudos to a contestant that never sold out and changed to make others happy... You stayed true to yourself and THAT is why you won!!!
I remember the judges constantly trying to change his style and he just kept being himself. “Home” gets all the accolades but “Volcano” is the best American Idol song ever performed

He's been by far my favorite. There is some uniqueness about as an entertainer, performer and person. Love his style.
Seeing him tear up at the end made me cry... Knowing how much of those tears came from overcoming multiple health issues during his run on idol that almost made him quit.

Not a fan of Idol. Didn't even know he sang "Home" til just recently. Having said that I did enjoy this compilation of his songs.
I also must say, there is something so genuine about him. His energy, personality, or aura whatever you wanna call it compels me to listen more and more.
I did cry at the end, hearing his voice break right as the song speaks of the demons and troubles. And then being unable to continue and go directly into mom's arms. Beautiful and authentic.
Phil Phillips was in an incredible amount of pain when he won American Idol. He had surgery shortly after his win. I believe it was something to do with his kidney. Watching this again reminds me why I stayed up all night voting for him. Home was the best finale ever. A true talent. He was great!

@@josephroberts9473 i think that she had an overall better showing throughout the season, however phillip had his best moments towards the end (volcano, we've got tonight) and his winner's single was by far the best in the show's history.

Phillip is an all around entertainer. He has immense talent but also the charisma and personality that endear him to his fans!!
This is one of the most original artists in the last 10 years. Such a unique haunting voice and great musician hybrid. I can't get enough of this dude.

I still cry every time I see that part where Phillip Phillips starts crying then walks over to his family and gives them a huge. Such a beautiful and unforgettable moment. He really did deserve it.
Philip I don't know if you read these comments but I just want to thank you for making this music the way you do, and when I am in a bad place I go on You tube and listen to your songs and they have gotten me through some hard times, like I have been going through foster care since I was ten but ever since you have gotten big in the music biz I have been listening to your music and it has gotten me through and I just want to thank you again and I hope you are around for a lot longer. He has an earthy, simple way about him. Basic singing and his own sensuality about his performances is what got him the ticket to win. He's handome and talented, and a definite winner in all categories that a performer needs!
Amazing how much he improved every week. No one else could keep up.
When I watched his audition, I know he'll will his season and he got it! 💪✅
I always get chills when I see him cry at the finale. ;D
This documentary is beautifully done. Shows Phillip's spectacular talent from the beginning of his Idol journey.

Definitely one of my favourite winning singles of all music shows. Foot stomping, cracking tune.
When I listen and re-listen to this I find that I enjoy more and more Phillips own expression and signature that he has put on all these songs. Top it off Phillip was ill the entire process of the compitition. Match Box Twenty is very lucky to have Phillip join their tour for Phillip will sell all their unsold tickets and help sell out the tour!
I will say it time and time again best contestant on American idol forever and always! So happy he won and will continue to support his music!

I remember watching him when I was 8 with my mom and grandma, it was amazing watching such a talented performer go from auditions to winning to still listening to his albums 10 years later. He’s my favorite idol performer/winner and am so glad I got to watch it

Oh how I wish I could watch this WHOLE Season over. I would NOT miss one week of viewing. A big thank you to the individual who put this together. From his first interview, I told my husband, "That boy is going to win it all!" I can't wait till his next album comes out! He's got some awesome talent!!
Thank you, Adam. This was the ONLY season I watched. Nobody could come close to Phillip for his ability to touch people's hearts. Glad that he's having some success now.

He looks SOOO GOOD during Movin' Out (the first time) cause he is all clean and cut! He sings such weird songs but his voice sure is something special! OMG, when he said "baby baby, I'll get down on my knees for you," my heart melted a million times.

LOVE THAT BOY! I still cry everytime I see this EMOTIONAL moment. I think that is the BEST Idol winner ending there was in the history of Idol. That was honest emotion from a genuine good "ole" boy. I hope he will continue with this kind of success. ;-)
phillip phillips is amazing! The reason i absolutely love him is because he just gets lost in the music and puts his whole heart in it! when i hear him sing i cant help but smile.

Well, from the audition to the finale I watched him grow and blossom. I saw something special from the beginning in him. It's not about whose songs he sings. His own work on his new album speaks for itself. It's about HIM. He has that special aura when you can see him sing. He lays it all out there for us to see and hear. This is a fresh, magical new talent. Thank you Wui Zhuan Lim for doing this.

WHAT???? This guy is amazingly talented and it suprises me, quite frankly, they he came to our attention on American Idol, no disrespect to the showcase for new talent. We have become so accustomed to artists being so in awe of the judges and producers that their natural style became homogenized. NOT our Phillip Phillips.

My name is Liz vanzile I live in Wisconsin my two oldest boys were your age when you were on American idol on season 11 I looked at my husband right after you took your audition and said that boy is going to win it all I just wanted to tell you that watching you that season was the most amazing journey I've ever been on not even when they pick the songs that work suited for you the best you still nailed I never doubted for a minute that you would be voted off or even being bottom I want you to know how proud I am of all you've accomplished and congrats on the family I wish you well in the future

I just watched the finale again. And again, the winner announcement and Phillip's hugging family part were the best moments. I'll not get tired watching this. Can you imagine...it's already 6-7 months! We still get emotional watching this!

This is AMAZING! You captured it all!! Love this! And, am still a Phillip Phan! :) One of the best seasons ever, if not the best. it was a great group! They had a friendship and respect for each other that made it all so special. I ended up in tears again. I loved how he went to his family! Great season. Great winner. I can't even watch the show anymore because it has become too much about the judges and not enough about the contestants. But, I still have Scotty and Phillip!

I always thought the exact same thing. I do not watch American Idol much at all, so when i first heard Home on the radio, I thought it was Mumford and Sons... Then when i looked for it, I found out it was Phillip Phillips. From there I went backwards to find where he was from, haha.
