After 2 years of not hearing this song, I looked at my old programs from PMEA in Region 3 and I saw this song. Immediately, all the words and bass 1 part came flooding in and I sang it out for no reason. This song is the reason I started to compose again. Dr. Beeken is a wonder when conducting this song and I was so glad to remember my final PMEA concert ever with this song.
This is so cool because im a current senior at clarion area high school, and we’re doing this song at District choir this year! I plan to attend IUP in the fall of this year :))
This was the last song my high school choir got to perform before the pandemic. Now my senior year is over, and listening back to this it’s making me emotional. Thinking to all the people I’ve met over the years, and how I’m going on to the next chapter of my life to become a music teacher myself. Thank you for this wonderful piece of music.
I’ve just done this this past PMEA district 2-5 chorus concert at Seneca as a Bass 1. One of the most expressive and imaginative songs I’ve ever had the privilege to be apart of! Dr. Beeken was amazing and such a nice man to conduct for us.
@ he was AWESOME! He was a great director, be prepared for him to do some super cool stuff with your music, he had us memorize all of our stuff and then added super cool transitions between the songs. He was also soooo funny! Great energy and we all loved him
Doing this song for my winter concert, and its genuinely just so beautiful. I showed it to a friend that recently went through a traumatic life change because he wanted to see what we were working on for chorus, and he broke down next to me and was able to open up a bit. Even though it wont be able to help him in the long run, its music like this that helps cope with emotions in a healthier way. The power that pieces like this evoke from us emotionally is why I sing and why I love music so much.
I often come back to listen to this to remind myself why I am a music teacher and what my mission is. It was an honor to be a part of the choir in this recording!
@@lucytaylor6402 nice! You had some pretty tough competition too, weren’t there like 100 of them? Either way, congrats and I’ll see you at lvc in January!
Missed out on performing this at my local choir festival last week due to having had surgery to repair my broken ankle. Lucky I can listen to it whenever I want 😄
Just did this piece for PMEA 12 District Choir. It has quickly become my favorite piece to perform. Thank you for composing this!
Yo I’m doing this for pmea district 7 choir this year!

Just last month we sang this with Ryan 😂
