Exactly what this song could do to you...bring a tear to your eye. The young man in front of the singers seated holding the microphone wiping away a tear, yep that's the power of beautiful voices combining to come together and sing this piece. I'd be crying too...just something about this song. The original, acapella, choirs, they all sound amazing. Thank you Alison Moyet!!
Thank you for sharing this with us all, peace and love from the wirral peninsula, bounded by the mersey and the Dee and the Irish sea...geography and rhyme..E...😊😊😊
I dont want to be morbid but at work one day my nephew said do you like this song I said its alright but the original was far better he said what do you mean , I said this song is 20 yrs old it's a smiths song . He couldn't believe it . That was the last conversation I ever had with him . Later that night he died in a car crash .
Oh the conductor picked an amazing song! The orchestra was lost as they weren’t participatory! But SWEET LORD the conductor and chorus produced such joy! And the conductor may go through his life well remembering these very moments!! I loved this!!
Totally agree with your comment. That conductor was totally digging that glorious vibe from those people. Couldn't have picked a better song to sing to. He had all the right moves and feelings during this... No doubt will he remember this for a lifetime!! Watched this now 4x straight, how can one not? Hits you in the feelgood spot and sends chills down my spine. Favorite video of all time!!
It would be nice if the writer and the original band were acknowledged. Neither were the Flying Pickets! It was written by Vince Clark and originally sung by Alison Moyet; in 1982
Me too, just got news an hr ago my beautiful aunt passed a week ago and watching this brought tears to my eyes. For some reason, certain songs will and can do that, and this one did. Beautiful choir, conductor, etc. The intro being long was the perfect buildup to a breathtaking choir performance that I could watch over and over.
Obviously the choir came by bus, and part of them were delayed, others came by bicycle, and the last ones were not told where the concert was meant to take place....which lead to a far-too-long intro.
Top row of guys on far right, 5 over and one row down, the lady with the short blond hair and earpiece, she is amazing!! Her expressions and emotions when singing this just hits you like something else. Not saying the others aren't good, but there's just something about her that always draws me in to her. Beautiful job by everyone!!
Hello!!! How are you doing today, please pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I just wanted to know if you’re a fan ? Have a great day.. Stay Safe!
I agree, it was better to keep this shorter and the people who come on stage immediately may start the song. You also get a nice build-up of volume. For the rest, a beautiful version.
The interminable, extended introduction, coupled with the singers marching on stage, was highly disruptive and detracts from the overall presentation (of very talented voices). As does the hall itself, which makes the vocals muddy, blurred, and indistinct with echo. Far better to re-record with just the singers, acapella, in a recording studio free of echo, with the normal two measures of introduction.
Horrible, but I suppose it's a matter of taste. What have the Flying Pickets got to do with it when it was written by Vince Clark of Yazoo and sung so beautifully by Alison Moyet and only covered by the Flying Pickets.

I was a person involved with the original. It was brilliant. You my dears have done it justice. So lovely. thank you
Thx ... you just worked on the original?

Alison moyay A regional song 20 years later My daughter said Have you heard this I have Bless her little heart

I totally don't get that when people don't give proper credit.
Alison Moyet’s voice was criminally underrated.
@@MrBiddy1975 Yes, she has an exceptional voice (her songs are on my favourites list).
And many people would be surprised, Vince Clark founded Depeche mode also.
So schön, mir kommen die Tränen.

Only you takes me right back 40 years

I have to agree
😂😂😂😂
Bro you should Start a career as Comedian. I had to wipe the tears of my face... because I laughed so heavy 🤣🤣🤣
Really?you need to be so negative?shame on you
Oh my gosh, too hilarious.
Natalie it sounds beautiful
like angels singing

The intro was longer than the song.
Anyone else in love with the blonde singer in the front row with the glasses??? Hubba hubba!! 😍
Lindo vocal,,,parabéns!!
Should apply to be on Britain's got talent brilliant x

After an extended beautiful intro, when the choir start the lyrics, it nearly makes me cry.
I did
Beautiful.
To all the critics here, The Flying Pickets would approve.
Fantastic rendition of a classic a capella.
The Flying Pickets covered Only You. Yazoo - Alison Moyet and Vince Clarke wrote and recorded the original version.
Brilliant BRAVO
amazing

❤ wonderful
Very nice!
Wann geht es denn nun los? Schon 3:20 vorbei..
Dit nummer staat op de B-Kant van "Only You"..
Vince Clarke will be proud to see this.
Klasse!
This song is not "by" the Flying Pickets!!!! They just did a cover of it. It was created by Yaz or Yazoo..... And they did it first.
Yaz in US. Yazoo in England. Written and composed by Vince Clark the genius. Sang by an angel, Alison Moyet
Gänsehaut !!!
But it was written by Yazoo. Flying Pickets was a cover version
Penoso
Stimmt
This is a Vincent Clarke (Martin) song. Not Flying Pickets!
Sobran los tres primeros minutos: Play in 3:00 min.
Yes, we know. Thx for your comment, but we did the song for a choir positioning at the beginning of the concert ;)
Not a patch on The Flying Pickets!
Fantastic!!!! Wonderful, joyous voices!!! Well done!!!
Looking from a window above x

Yes.... Half crying here...
Molle
Molto suggestivo.Bello
Great version od great song;)
😍😍😍😍WOW👌👌👌
Intro too long for me but, a CLASS act.
Brilliant although I never thought I’d find the opening bars of my favourite song so annoying until they sang it on repeat for three minutes 😂
I'll do something inportant in my life with this song :) .... at 21Jun2024
The intro from this is way too long.
❤❤❤😂😂
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Good but they are no Flying Pickets.
A bit too high.
The conductor did have a blast.
Super 👏👏👏🇸🇰✌️
YAZOO song!
MAGNIFIQUE !!!!!
Ummmm DITCH THAT TAMBOURINE😀😀😀

It was beautifully imperfect. Like life.
They seemed to have trouble getting on the risers. They should have practiced that.
The intro is too short.
Very nice.... if they started from the middle of the video. The first half, which was to see the singers walk in, regret to say waste of time
Underbar vacker musik hälsningar från Sweden Slava Ukraina ☮️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
¿ Only you ?....qué interpretaban The Platers.
It is NOT the platters only you. It is another song only you.
YAZOO
The beginning was painfully drawn out.
Sorry but the intro was far FAR too long and highly irritating. 3 mins 20 seconds was ridiculous and spoilt an otherwise nice performance.
Agreed! Far too long and very distracting
YOUR SO RIGHT
It s like the groundhog day
Incredibly overcooked
Horrible, but I suppose it's a matter of taste. What have the Flying Pickets got to do with it when it was written by Vince Clark of Yazoo and sung so beautifully by Alison Moyet and only covered by the Flying Pickets.
Strepitosi
Intro was way too long
lol lol lol
nothing special
