Hey Ana, my name is Raluca, I was born in Romania, but moved to England over 2 years ago. I have since tried to go vegan (or at least vegetarian) and also tried living a more minimalistic lifestyle with less online shopping, impulse buying, emotional driven purchases, but I don t think much has changed really and feel like a failure. I stumbled across your channel a few days ago and binge watched almost all your videos, you are so captivating, so real, so authentic, your content makes me happy, being able to see how you live makes me happy. I just want to say thank you, it really is a gift being able to watch your videos. I would also really like being able to see more of your eating habits throughout the week/ what I eat in a week. xoxo

Please, never feel discouraged when something doesn't go like you've expected. Changes take time! We all have different stories and backgrounds, so just be kind to yourself 💚
I'm happy the channel gives you some comfort, my dear friend.
      thank you!

I bet something changed, just you expect from yourself a Huge change so little changes you made, feel the „same“ because in your head you Had a goal and you feel it‘s so far away... at least my head tricked me this way, but if i look on my old footage/ pictures i See a Big shift ... also If you go right away vegan/ vegetarian your body / mind would detoxify so fast that you maybe couldnt keep up... i think a Transition is the best option and giving up the idea that We have to reach a certain goal in a certain time... that happened to me , and it stressed me out, my body was weak(though diet change)... the utmost important thing is to stay Kind to yourself and Not to practise any of these changes to an extent that ist stresses you out... i just Share my experiences and since i put myself in „transition mode“ i feel so so much better because i Broke the pattern to make things „perfect“.

I’m 40 years old and a couple of years ago I started to play guitar. I’m not that good, I play simple songs. But I play for myself. And I enjoy it so much. Brings me peace and comfort to play and sing alone. Thank you so much for you insight on this topic! I want to add that the "peace and comfort" may not be true for the neighbors 😁

I have finally let myself follow my dream, and have transferred to a university with a great Ceramics program, where I want to learn pottery. Yesterday was my first day. Before going to class I was excited and inspired, but when I arrived in this room full of other people with my same dream and with better skills, I was totally overcome with fear. I kept reminding myself, "I am doing this because it makes me happy, and not because I am the best. It is okay to be growing." Your video helped me feel safer in the knowledge that I am creating because I love how I can use it to explore and learn truth, and not because I want to be seen or praised. If I focus on creating instead of on being the best, someone out there will feel what I feel in my art, and will connect with it. That will be wonderful. Thank you!!

I do all kinds of art - textiles, drawing, writing, stage play, singing and what helped me most is realising I don't HAVE to be good at any of it. I have to enjoy it and be authentic enough to convey my message. If a lot of people like my art - great. If my two friends understood what I was trying to say - great. If it's only for me as some kind of an outlet and I can't even show it to anyone - also fantastic!
I'd rather be a jack of all trades master of none as long as I can do what I personally enjoy.

Well Ana, that's it. I am now going to try collage. I found a collage I made a few years ago from a church bulletin. For some reason I felt compelled to do it at the time, but never pursued an interest in it. Last night I watched a few UA-cam videos about analog and digital collages, and I am definitely intrigued by the analog ones. Lots of great ideas in these videos. My personal rules are to start with what I have without buying anything (except perhaps some inexpensive tools, such as glue, 2-sided tape, etc.). The collages will be for my eyes only (well, maybe my husband too), and I am just going to have fun with it. I was wondering what to do with some of the paper items from my childhood home that I received last summer. This will give them new life, and is really a great project for a minimalist (inexpensive, tidy, and low overhead)! Thank you for the inspiration.

I had (or have) this problem with demonstrating my "art" - and it's been a major de-motivator for me. I never got any "validation" and that left me feeling that my art is probably not worthy, though I was very enthusiastic about it and gave me a lot of joy.. but no, never got any validation. And I am still unsure how to feel about this, and I pretty much gave up at this point. My "art" is street photography... I used to go places and just mix in with the crowds and take snapshots - I was fascinated with capturing people's expressions, their emotions, how some of them are sort of "lost in thought", to tell a story by framing and freezing it in a still image. I really really loved doing it, and perhaps I will pick the camera up again some day. I am glad that I found your channel.. you are so inspirational ! Thank you

Please, try not to make this demotivator win! Your words really touched me and from what you've written, I see what a passionate, talented, and daring artist you are. You can show people real moments that are often lost in the daily fuss. You make visual poetry out of the mundane (or what seems mundane to us). It's a gift of yours. Hope you will pick up the camera one day.
      All art is worthy.

Dear Ana, thank you for your beautiful appetizer for making art, no matter at what level. I always find, art is a great way to connect with people.
Last year, I discovered my love for word smithing while writing a non-fiction book. It was a great surprise, I would have never considered myself to be a writer but it turned into a passion. I also write for my blogposts and love it just as much.
My lifelong art is playing music on different instruments. Right now, my active instrument is viola with its warm soft sound that works more with resonance than vibrato. I play in an orchestra and smaller groups. Inspired by your videos, I am getting into sewing again. When I was young, I sewed all my clothing, I love it as much as my other arts. The cloth is already waiting to be cut up. Sometimes, I find it unfortunate that the day has only 24 hours. :-)

You have such a serene and different energy-style from what i am used to, but i have found myself feeling captivated by your content.
I remember being a creative kid, i would love to sketch and write without filters and tamed imagination. As you said, the art was a very intimate process. When i was no longer a kid, my art became something different and i didnt like it. It was a product of fear of being judged, compared to, being seen/not being seen. It wasnt fun or mine anymore. So when people are asking me now (whenever they weatness my creativity) why i didnt become an artist, this is the story. I felt exposed, not good enough, not brave enough to transform my thoughts-feelings into art, not worthy enough to be seen and too insecure to feel ok with not being seen.

I practiced scrapbooking (using real scraps... recycled materials, newspaper, paper tape, etc.) but I was worried about doing something beautiful for other people. I love your channel. I am from Brazil. Your videos inspire me. I loved that you made this video about art because I'm in the process of allowing myself to retake my artistic side and increase my creativity. But I feel like I've been stuck for a long time with my creativity blocked out of fear of what people would think if they saw my drawings or if they saw my youtube channel. I'm taking small steps to change that and seeing you talk about it helps me understand that I can handle it and make the mindset shifts that I need to achieve my desires.Thank you.

Oh Ana, your videos are such a delight! A balsam to my soul! Not long ago I used to make greeting cards and while I enjoyed it thoroughly, I spent a whole lot of money in buying supplies all the way from the US, to Greece. I really wish I hadn’t done that. It’s true you don’t need much to enjoy art! Then I stopped making cards partly because I turned into minimalism and a more sustainable living and partly because, just like you, it seems I’m a multi potential and I like trying different things. This past year I returned to an old love of mine, hiking. And I want to have as many adventures with my family out in nature as possible. But if you start watching hiking supplies videos on UA-cam you’ll think that you need a fortune to do it. Well, all you need is a decision. And you’re half way there!
Thank you for your honesty! Sending you lots of love from Greece!

I do it just for me and rarely share what I have made except with those who love me. I think social media is an extremely destructive force in this world. Hi Ana, another wonderful video that went straight to my heart. I am also an introverted HSP and have found exposure of my art very difficult at times, although have had three successful solo exhibitions which I enjoyed. I think it is the competitions I find difficult. When people see and buy my art (I'm a glass maker and painter) I'm very happy and love imagining in their houses, but I find commissions far too stressful. I worry so much about how the work will be received. I also do not enjoy creating for a market and don't think I do my best work then.

Some time after that I started participating in different online art marathons and I got quite discouraged to do anything, as my work was never noticed, instead, professional artists were always awarded at these competitions. In future I have plan to create some business like a handmade felt pencilcases, purses, bags, or knitted bag, scarfs:)) and sell it in local bazar maybe together with boys, I am teaching them right now how to sew, knit, crochet 😊

It can be so easy even for us who want to be creatives/artists to psych ourselves out and overthink the importance and value of what we're creating vs the process. This is very inspiring and I find such pleasure in seeing the small universe that everyone holds inside manifest itself outside in different art creations. As usual, a kind and accessible video chat with you. I would also add that everyone should feel comfortable to call themselves an ‘artist’. I dislike these borders of only being able to identify as an artist if you have a certificate. I respect career artists and the time and effort institutionalized education takes, but art is a basic human language and right, and for those that are self-taught for whatever the reason, it can sometimes feel as if they are unable to say ‘I’m an artist’. Don’t be afraid. If you create something yourself that speaks to you, you are an artist. I absolutely adore the Chirp illustrations and sentiment of the final card, too! 🐧🐦❤️

Thank you for your many good points on art, Ana. Your collages are stunning and it's great that you've been able to participate in the exhibitions. Art is a really great human resource. My lifelong passion is painting. It is true that as an artist you often have to endure rejection. Despite the difficulties, persevering will sharpen the essence of your art and show what you really are as an artist. The world of art is a parallel world to reality and that is fantastic!

My elementary art teacher (2nd-6th) said, " if you make a mistake just work it into the art. There's no such thing as mistakes in art." Many years later I realized what that statement actually meant.... We don't make mistakes in art; art is art....as it exists. Art is subjective therefore it is never wrong nor is it ever "wanting". Art is imperfectly perfect. My art, your art.... It's all good work.

I love making art projects and I feel you are so correct in your comments in this video. I have just in the last month or so learned about neurographic art and been experimenting with that which I find very fascinating I also paint and do some collages I have found doing art journals is a great way to create that doesn’t take up a lot of space and is a nice way to experiment with various mediums and techniques

Great content and wonderful artworks, Ana. I’d love to watch more videos about your collages. Art is one of most important things in my life although we have quite difficult relationship with no great successes, mostly because of many self-doubts I have which are roadblocks in my creative process. But after tough moments I try again. In my early 30s I started to take singing classes and I have a wonderful teacher. I never thought I could sing. None of my friends and relatives know about it, I am not going to tell them or publish anything in social media. I do it for myself and it brings me joy. Greetings for all artistic souls ✨

I feel connected to you! :) I make art myself and I have recently started taking my interest very seriously. I participated in a groupexhibition last year and it was amazing, I felt that my artwork was totally "me" and I didn't compare myself to anyone else. It felt so liberating to finally find your own voice, to feel that your artwork is just as it's supposed to be. And of course, everyone can make art! You don't have to have a certain education. Anyway, thank you for your thoughtful videos, they make me feel grounded:) Much Love from Sweden.

Thank you for this Ana. You articulate so well the path I'm on to break through all the obstacles to owning my creativity. The Pandemic Pause has been a gift in terms of allowing myself the gift of art making. Now it's become basic, a part of my everyday, and even though I fantasize about exhibiting, the process itself has been everything. It made spending holidays alone a glorious stretch to play with my materials and experiment. I just discovered neurography, a new art therapy that anyone can do, like collage. (Lots of great vids here on UA-cam.)
Love your artworks! Thanks for making exhibiting sound less scary and sharing your stories. I see solo shows in your future!

love your videos, your unique channel :) and I'm happy that so many other people do too. You seem like such an open, inviting and thoughtful person.
What stops me from making art is that I'm doubting and judging myself easily, so I usually chose a more "secure" way of doing something. Somehow I need to free my mind, because I'm actually quite inuitive. Plus being mindlessly on the internet in my free time.
But you inspire me to do art. Your first point made me think, that I would probably like to do something nature related.. I'm going to dive into that.. I think first I'm going to finish my wall hanging with shells.
    Thankyou for sharing your thoughts
