Undoubtedly a phenomenal vocalist, but I can't help but feel that David's singing is all for show, whereas Guy Penrod's seems to come from a sincere love for Christ. For this reason, I would much prefer to listen to Guy.
David Phelps is a classically trained singer. His voice has been taught to perform like that. Has a good voice. Guy Penrod has worked his way up from a background singer in Nashville. I have met Guy three times and he is so humble. His love for Christ shows in his actions, his life and his voice.

I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (March 30), I attended worship at a local Presbyterian Church. We sang this as the Hymn of Dedication. On a personal note, I saw the Gaithers at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, SC in March 2004.
One of the best singing groups ever this side of heaven. I love these people .I can't begin to tell how much I am blessed by their music .....and by the way this is real music , not just a lot of noise like the world calls music.
