could you put that on more secure poles one on top and bottom of the can, (with bearings) and put the bunsen burner at an angle to the can so the can is more stable so it can go at higher speeds
You would probably have to have a bearing the size of the pop can so that the flame can still touch the bottom. But then you need to account for the amount of friction to spin the bearing might not allow the can to spin because it dosnt have enough thrust
I tried this with a candle. The can was obviously filled with piping hot steam for it was very hot to the touch. However, the can did spin a bit, but barely moved other than that. Was it the flame temperature, or what?
replace the hook that is attached to the cord by a dynamo, make the dynamo ATTACHEd to the main "iron bar" that hold everything together, and so the can will rotate, the cord too, and so the crank shaft of your dynamo :)
Maybe it just might take forever to spin or it might not spin at all, I tried boiling water in a pop can with a candle, it got pretty hot, but wasn’t enough to create steam or boil.
Lloyd This is an incomplete engine, with very little extra work you can charge things like this. Instead of using a burner you can burn candles or even coals
I love how you made this video in 1:16 mins. Clear, concise, easy. Thank You.
This woman created what is referred to as a Hero´s steam engine or an aeropile (probably misspelled).
Great demo on "thrust from steam" ! Thank you.
amazing time to go and share this with my grand father he loves steam engines
I didn't understand a word because I speak in Spanish and I added subtitles but this helped me a lot with the task I'm going to do, thank you
How can I make it look more like an actual engine, like if I paint it will the flame effect that or anything?
Very simple project thank you man
really good to understand steam engine.......
it is very simple experiment I LOVE IT is good
Pls tell me a use of it
it's helpful for my school project.thank you.

This vedio has made my understanding easier ..
Thanks for understanding such phenomena practically that much easily

candles are much cooler than Bunsen burners so yes, it was temperature
lol
Could you turn this into a functional engine? For a miniature steam boat?
Look at the more advanced versions of the hero engine and Pop Pop boats
I really appreciate your work @FlinnScientific , but it will be better to use this energy for something or making free electricity current.
Now, how do you harness the energy?
replace the hook that is attached to the cord by a dynamo, make the dynamo ATTACHEd to the main "iron bar" that hold everything together, and so the can will rotate, the cord too, and so the crank shaft of your dynamo :)
Linkdeous , wow
Instructions unclear… accidentally shotgunned 13 beers and woke up in a Hardee’s dumpster.
thanks dude helped me in a project
does anybody know if you could do the same experiment with a candle instead of a bunsen burner?
Maybe it just might take forever to spin or it might not spin at all, I tried boiling water in a pop can with a candle, it got pretty hot, but wasn’t enough to create steam or boil.
Maybe you could use a bigger flame like a oil lamp
thanks a lot for this superb 💡idea. Its so easy 😊
This is really cool
Was considering trying to make a fan powered by something like this
.........verey nice your work thank for your video
make a shaft instead of a rope ,then hook up a small e-motor to power things up ,
Yup and use a Fresnel lens as a magnifier to use the Sun to create the steam !
I have a question: can you do that with only a candle?
+Toby Que most likely, yes. But it'll take longer.
Ok thanks
Legend has it that the gas valve broke after making this video, sending the can boring uncontrollably into the fabric of spacetime itself
Does candals work?
Anything that produces heat (I think)
This is not an engine but cool experiment

thank you maam that was quiet helpful
it is really very good experiment
How In the heck did you fill the pop can with just a pinhole? Must’ve took hours.. 😅
can we make with candles
Yes. But it will take longer.
Is this the Watt Steam Engine
very good idea
i have a doubt how did you put hole in init
that's what makes it spin. The holes are angled so when the steam gets pushed through the hole it makes it spin.
good video
I was overcomplicating this in my mind so much 😭
can you help me with some thing
its about steam an and i couldn't configure it
so i expect your support for this
very nice
How it's working?
if you burn water in a soda can you can feel the steam right
the steam go out in the hole. the steam pushes the can
simplest form of this technology
nice idea
Thanks
How does the third law of motion apply to this
awesome!
what is food of steam engine?
Ehh salad, steam engines like too eat salad
Well... Steam?..
Great!
just awesome :)

How can you apply this to a working steam engine train?
I have to make a model of a working steam engine train I need help.
PLEASE REPLY FAST!!!
😄
My can melted on the bottom, didn't turn and is now black.
Good
awesome ..
Wish there was a version that was more accessible at home complete failure with 6 attempts
Thanks mam
nice
Also known as Hero's engine
I woulda boiled the soda... Thanks now it works better.
Turn itself, no work?
Great
From when I was finding this video
Oh great I thought it was a real one. nice idea though.
I took great plans from Avasva . It help me a lot with my own solars.
Wow
Time to make a car
I'm building one so I can burn my trash to make electricity
Halo
More a steam turbine but yeah OK
she wasted so much soft drink im angwy
You pretty much just made a bootleg hero's engine
no love video
It does not work! yeah
An african could have drank that soda
Marc Ferretti so could that beggar you saw last week
Nah their bellies are already full of worms
And eat the can
Россия!
am i late
reply me
No,damn it
i,m no love videos
That's literally not an engine
Very scientific and totally useless....
