I want class to come back. I wish people would sing like that. I wish people would dress like that. I wish people would act like that

It doesn't matter who the documentary is about, Mother Maybelle, June, Helen or even Johnny Cash, when Anita Carter opens her mouth and sings it's hard to concentrate on anything else.

I’m so glad to be living in an age when things like this can be preserved and shared, so we can learn and enjoy our musical heritage.

It isn't that her eyes are blue, its that she couldn't hide the hardships those eyes of witnessed if she tried.

Maybelle's my third cousin, once removed, not that y'all care, but from someone who knew her, you did her justice. God bless.

I love how they smile at each other when one sings, there so proud of the other instead of themselves.

I love it when the two things I love the most, music/the guitar and history merge and we learn about these amazing musicians through these great documentaries!

I was never a "Country" music fan. I would listen to it, if it playing. I adore the movie "Walk the Line" and found this wonderful, amazing video. It has opened my eyes. This music is soulful. Thanks so much for posting this video.

Mother Maybelle gifted my mother a pair of her earrings back when my mother had a television show in Cincinnati. She said Mother Maybelle was the most genuinely sweet woman she'd ever met, and my mother was not afraid to criticize people, so Ms. Carter must have been a top-notch person.

Mother Maybelle’s “Carter scratch” Style of playing was such a major innovation. She changed everything. And what wonderful harmony the Carter family had.
