Wow! Excellent step-by-step video! My Minnkotta 50# thrust (hand controlled) stopped working while trolling around some Lilly pads. Any suggestions on making a repair? Thank you!

Thanks for the video explanation. Do you have a switch that would allow me to bypass my foot control variable speed switch. My board is bad and I just want to have a button that would allow me to just turn the motor on and off. It is a 24V Minn Kota Fortrex 80lb

I have a MK30, never been in the water, wires lengthened for a kayak mod. Not getting all speeds. Tested lead wires per this video and got different speed on all wires. I checked voltage at each lead on the switch and found something interesting - in 1st position forward, white lead had voltage, yellow/red did not have voltage. but when i connected the actual wires to the motor and back probed the lead, both white and yellow had voltage. It seems the yellow wire back feeds voltage to the switch from the motor. Is this normal? Should I maybe look at a bad speed coil - how do I diagnose the speed coil? thanks for any help.

Exactly....if it isn't your speed control switch (easy changeable) , what is it then?
