The best way to do blue spheres is to complete the game, go back into GHZ and then just rotate back and forwards between goal posts, because once you enter a special stage it turns the other goal post blue again. It's the fastest way to re-enter the special stage, as you can rattle off the blue spheres as much as you want in quick succession, and not have to drag it out throughout the Super Sonic gameplay.
