    • @mochouinard
      @mochouinard 11 днів тому

It was really easy questions.... I test drove one twice yesterday, and there is a few design decision that I definitely question ! Like the fake engine noise !!! My first reaction with the sell person is to say that I think this truck is broken and to get me another one to test drive ! It horrible to have this forced on the user with no way to disable it ! It super confusing with the different models and capability... Like ground clearance and turning radius, which I can't find the actual info about the 4WT since most of the info is basicly for a complete different car with a turning back wheels and whole different suspension setup... So why is it still called a Silverado at this point ? It Like if Tesla called the model Y a Model 3... It wouldn't make sense. But it seem traditional maker don't mind it. The 4WT look super cheap inside... The driver screen position is HORRIBLY place for a car with no adjustable seat height and a super small steering wheels. There is a lot of bad with it ! I'm still struggling to make the decision to get this or the Ford Lightning Flash... I just can't decide, and I needed to order yesterday ! But I can't make my choice, and stupid design decision on the Silverado make my selection harder... A bit as well with the lightning, where they put a horizontal seam in the seat that feel like you have a wire in your back, and it doesn't feel good... But it offer so much in user experience. But I feel the lightning turning radius is smaller, and maybe is the lower to the ground as well, but apparently, maybe it is not lowered, or very little difference. I feel more joy in the Lightning Flash a part from the seat, but I like the $ value of the bigger battery of the silverado and faster charging speed... But I like position of the charger in front of lightning to charge with a trailer than the silverado... It just often a bunch of choice on the silverado that have didn't cost more that lower it actual value. So yea I can't decide !!!

ehh 4X4 crew cab HD gasser starts at 53K and you need a shop to work on them and 5 mechanics $120K/ yr mechanics. plus parts inventory.
so buy 10 3WT $730,000 you get $75,000 back on taxes. so $655,000
      or 10 6.6 gassers for $530,000
your mechanics alone cost you $600K per year (plus benefits, etc. so add 50% to that.)
Shop building another 120K-150K per year
you'll spend another$2,000 in oil ever 5,000 miles
plus your fuel bill. ~ $35,000 per 5k miles. (your guys idle the engines all day for teh CB radios)
plus you'll need a $7,000 honda generator that WILL get stolen regularly.

Pros: LOVE the STORAGE spaces, inside design is medicinal but more welcome, 10min charging is very welcome, and other touches but, Cons: The thing with small icons on at arm distance is that icons are difficult to find, press and then wait for something to happens.
buttons, especially for important things like, making sure that a electric only truck does turn off, is really important and should be mechanical like a button. Why? Its electric, AAA will not deliver you 10min of charge like they do 3 gallons of gas. Range anxiety comes to play here. Does the truck come with a lifetime of anti-anxiety pill??? Also, I don't have eagle eyes, don't know anyone who does, so why are the icons SOOO small???

GM (or somebody) would do great to calculate range while towing INCLUDING hills (which gives u regen on downhills). All the inputs are there. Google Maps bicycle mode gives elevation. As soon as the truck comes to highway speed then drag can be calculated. It knows where the charging stations are so it can suggest you stop, or not. This simple math (almost) eliminates range anxiety, but it is more than anyone really wants to do on the back of a napkin.

Why do EV makers always do the range and power math for perfect weather and flat roads? That’s no where in this country and it’s becoming false advertising at this point. Just give people the lower number from the average in all terrains and weather they are expected to use and a perfect environment number. Like a “hey you can get 300 mi, but the truck has the potential for 390 in great conditions.”

ehh 4X4 crew cab HD gasser starts at 53K and you need a shop to work on them and 5 $120K/ yr mechanics. plus parts inventory.
    so buy 10 3WT ev's $730,000 you get $75,000 back on taxes. so $655,000
    or 10 6.6 gassers for $530,000 (a $125K savings.... buttt)
your mechanics alone cost you $600K per year (plus benefits, etc. so add 20% to that.)
Shop building another $120K-150K per year
you'll spend another $2,000 in oil every 5,000 miles
plus your fuel bill. ~ $35,000 per 5k miles. (your guys idle the engines all day for the CB radios)
plus you'll need a $7,000 honda generator that WILL get stolen regularly.
ORRR you just buy the EV

    • @michaelbrand4654

Chevy uses some of the cheapest plastics known to man and those practices have had an effect on build quality since the 1980's, you can thank Roger Smith for that. The Silverado EV is a continuance of that reality with cheap plastics despite a six figure price tag. I would rather eat the 100k in dollar bills than spend it on that Silverado EV disaster. American EV's are the absolute worst in the industry, its not even debatable.
