That's basically the series. A game you HAD TO HAVE and what makes it hurt worse is you did have it. You were up 20 on the road in the third quarter. Pause right there. You should not lose when your up 20 points in the third quarter and yet they did. A 5 minute strech with zero points along with just stagnant terrible offense that it was clear stopped running plays. Had you won last night it's 1-1 and you like your chances then of winning the series. But no you choke it away and now head back to LA down 2-0 and with how demoralizing that loss was I just struggle to see them bouncing back from that. DLO was great. AD was great. Bron played well and yet we still blow it. Gotta find a way to win game 3 and atleast avoid getting swept again. Take it a game at a time it's unlikely but if we do manage to somehow win both at home and tie this series up then it's a series again and a best of 3 and no matter what happens then you can say you went out fighting. The chemistry on this team since 2020 has been scattered, at best. Constantly changing the roster, especially letting go of guys like KCP, Caruso, and Kuzma who really made that championship run possible, has left this team wounded through the years. This offseason is going to be fateful with Lebron and D'Lo potentially walking, the need for a new coach, and possibly trading guys like Austin and Rui for another star. What a whirlwind it is to be a Laker fan, my goodness.

If you're looking for hope, LA clearly got tired in the second half of both games when Denver fought back. Late game execution is Denver's strength, but LA was clearly gassed, and not getting enough oxygen to the brain at altitude will show up as disorganization and lack of focus. Not saying we're going to win the series, but LA showed it has enough tools to win a couple games if it can do it for 48 full minutes. I hope LBJ can keep the team's head up and they can defend home court over the next 2 games.
That MPJ 3. It was on Rui. He lost his man trying to double Gordon who had already lost his footing right by the baseline. Had him stayed in front of MPJ that pass from AG would have been a steal for him. Not to mention that MPJ was pretty much the only player on the Nuggets who could hit 3s in the game. There was no reason at all to leave him open in the transition. The quality of decision making in these key moments is what separates intelligent players from those who are not, and the further you go into the playoffs the more you need high basketball IQ to win a game.
If Lakers don't fire Darvin they need to hire Rondo or an offensive guru bc we really need help on that side of the ball and with adjustments in general.

Feels like the Lakers need to play perfect to beat them just because of how poorly constructed they are. Denver shot 44% from the field and 23.5% from 3. You're not going to get a repeat of that, and you're DEFINITELY not getting that 1st half AD and Dlo where they were simply on fire. Lebron needed to put it away in the clutch but unfortunately came up short. For some reason, the Lakers start to drift away from schemes and set plays in the 2nd half and down the stretch of games. Miss me with the freethrow stuff, I counted at least 3 times where Ham could've called a timeout and gave the team directions on plays to run. All they had to do was hold on to the lead, if they won by 8, 5, 3, it wouldve been fine. A 20 pt lead gone. They led by 17 for a good bit in the 3rd

This L is on Ham! He stopped running organized offense again and we lost the lead/the game. He completely went away from AD once Gordon was on him. If you have a top 10 player you don’t go away from him just because a new defender is on him. We got stagnant as an offense and went to Lebron top of the key searching out mismatches and that’s not going to work against the nuggets. You don’t go away from the best player (AD) especially when he’s having the best game of his life. Gordon is good defender no doubt but you don’t completely abandon going at him with AD. I think a great way to keep jokic involved if he is switched off AD is to run inverted PnRs with AD handling. Allows AD to use his speed against jokic and his playmaking has improved so I trust AD to make plays

Miss me with the freethrow stuff, I counted at least 3 times where Ham could've called a timeout and gave the team directions on plays to run. All they had to do was hold on to the lead, if they won by 8, 5, 3, it wouldve been fine. A 20 pt lead gone. They led by 17 for a good bit in the 3rd

But how come we did not draw the same plays for AD to continue be effective with scoring? we instead went away from AD for everyone else to shot bricks, eg Hachimura, dinwiddle etc? Is that a conspiracy from our coaching staff to let the Nuggets come back?
We need Austin to score more and maybe the Murray matchup isn’t the greatest way to use him. Should he come off the bench? Probably tbf, he shouldn’t be on the floor with DLo except to close. We need to unlock Austin’s offense more tho.

This L is on Ham! He stopped running organized offense again and we lost the lead/the game. He completely went away from AD once Gordon was on him. If you have a top 10 player you don’t go away from him just because a new defender is on him. We got stagnant as an offense and went to Lebron top of the key searching out mismatches and that’s not going to work against the nuggets. You don’t go away from the best player (AD) especially when he’s having the best game of his life. Gordon is good defender no doubt but you don’t completely abandon going at him with AD. Ham can’t make in game adjustments and it shows every time in the clutch or when Denver goes on a run
