- The bucking issue eventually showed up again. If you are looking for further repair on that specific issue, I have another video in relation to that.

huge thanks brother, great video
Thanks man, same issue here, just got my phasers on order
The occasional homing of cam actuators at cold start up is not a problem. Occurs most often during cold temps, and after a brief start and shutdown. The actuators do not always return to the home position. At cold start, the ECM is running in open loop and fluctions are normal, even a few misfires during open-closed loop transition is normal. After warm up, in drive at a stop, ECO mode will lower rpm from to rpm an cause stumble. Running AC also does this. Oil quality, cleanliness, oil level makes difference. Fuel dilution in these engines affects and lowers viscosity which can cause VVT issues. I assume no codes set. P0014 is common when actuators start to act up. Definitely check oil, ECO mode and other factors that load the engine at idle in drive. I had a bad battery, that constant load the alternator and caused irratic idle. RPM is controlled by electronic throttle and by altering ignition timing, so cleaning the TB is a source. If the actuators are ratcheting home at start up frequently hot or cold, and VVT solenoids connection are good, screens are clean, then TSB suggest replacement of cam actuators. Good video.
Awesome dude
What code would you get if the cam phaser is bad
Are the phasers the same part number on the 2013 2.4L as well?
I noticed you did not use the special tool that they have ... can the bolts be tighten without and if so why do you need the tool and what does it do .. Thanks for your help .. Im installing these Cam Phasers on my wife's car ...
I believe the tool you are referencing is for when you are not removing the phasers, which would then keep them in the locked position for keeping time.
@elvrolet. THANKS ..
One other thing when putting the cam chain tensioner back in how do you know when scewing it back in it will line up in the right place on the cam chain guide ??
I don't recall exactly, Im thinking there was a place to view it, as I mentioned using a mirror in the video.
. THANKS
Still running good?
The bucking issue eventually returned and I have a new video on that.

The drive-ability of the car was excellent after the final repair. I did not have any issues with the cam phaser installation.
throw the whoke engine away... been working on ecotech for a while now... literary just by the looke of ur green engine coolant i wouldnt take 5000 to open it....these engines are very strict on oil,maintenance, and coolant (the coolant should have been orange). get rid offf ittttttt
