This exponentially increased her opportunity for communication and function. It is very hard to believe that keller was that successful if she truly was 100% blind and deaf.

They literally do. It's called the Tadoma method, and it was a popular method for teaching deaf-blind people to speak in the 1900's. Tactile signing, another method that Keller used, is far more popular now. Just google it.

It was very hard at first but I learned that with two boring months on hand you can learn how to do the ABC;s in ASL by yourself with no help once so ever

It was a huge amount of work. By that she learned a language. This connection with the mouth then must have come later.
