@@LastMumzy My personal theory has to do with that image received from the other dead titans. In all honesty it's probably the human-thargoid zombies thing that was leaked from so long ago, but I really want to believe that it was actually a cry for help. What we have been fighting is one nest. If you were to head to the pleides nebula, where some other thargoid craft can be found, then as long as you don't have guardian tech they will treat you neutrally, because they are part of a different hive mind belonging to a different queen. They have no knowledge of the war. If Elite: The Dark Wheel (the novel that shipped with the first game) is to be believed, then the nests often quarrel with each other. The only resemblance of peace is the lack of war, and even in those instances there are nests that enslave drones from other nests. With the thargoid hivemind, in their own nest they don't need to communicate using alternative technology. They don't really have a language because thoughts are simply understood. They don't need to store information either, because the queen is practically immortal so long as it isn't ever killed. For whatever reason, they still needed to develop some way of storing and transferring information just in case, perhaps to communicate with other nests or store information on the long-term. So, they literally just draw a two-dimensional image and store it analogue as an oscillating radio-wave. Our ships receive these radio waves and convert it into noise, as it does with all audible frequency. Then it's easy, the image is more-or-less right there in the resulting audio's waveform. They might need to communicate an idea to another hive for diplomatic reasons, but they have never ever deliberately attempted to communicate to another race. If they were trying to communicate to us, Cocijo would be the one emitting the noise, not the dead titans. I believe the message was never intended for us, but for _other nests._ Warning them of a constantly multiplying race of hiveless individuals that seek to take over their space. Perhaps in front of the 8 titans to denote that their nest failed to take us down with the entire fleet of warships they had. If any of this is true, and the other nests follow along... We couldn't possibly stand a chance. But, knowing fdev, it's probably just the zombies * sigh *
Considering the Titan resulted in the darkside of the planet going totally dark... meaning Earth's lights were out... I think everybody in North America might have been on the Titan.
I just had the pleasure of doing exactly the same thing you just did a few minutes ago 😆 It was my first time involved with any sort of Titan. I travelled all the way back 5000ly away from Sol to see this live. For the first time. I got there 30mins early. So i waited around and recorded so much. I can't believe i've missed so much of this war. But i had to see the LAST TITAN go down and experience it for the 1st time. Wooooooooooww 👀😆 PS i just checked my recordings and the volume was off the whole time. Noooooooooooo 😩😩😩😩😂
When computer died shortly after Odyssey launched and I was only able to just replace it. Last night was my first time logging into Elite in years and I got to watch the fireworks from a distance, and felt so incredibly lucky to see such a sight. So I hear you!
@@MeowingStar314 Really! What a time to log back in. I've been teasing myself for years with the Thargoids. Last night was an experience. I've never engaged with them or been interdicted. Ran into one years ago and just left quickly So when i got back to Sol i was not expecting to be interdicted straight away by 2 of them. I barely got away 😂 Also i've never been inside the caustic clouds to see a titan before. Almost died trying to manage the heat/caustic effects. Got disorientated and started to panic 😆 Found my way though I parked up infront of the Titan ready to go down with my ship 😆 When it exploded i was suprised to see that it pushed me back so far instead. It was an experience i'll never forget with ED. Amazing content
Ok so that sound after the explosion was totally different to all the previous Titan explosions. There are speculations that it is another signal for something to come.
I was able to help with killing this one but unfortunately slept in and missed the explosion. So it seems I'm never gonna get to see one go supernova live. But still, was worth helping with.

What an explosion to end the first phase of the thargoid war
This is probably where we find out that the Titans are actually just baby Thargoid ships.

Thank you for recording this and sharing it!
I'll bet everybody in North America has a sunburn now.

This was quite the ride.
I'm sure that final death knell is nothing to be concerned about
Just dropped in when everyone got pushed out.
Happy to have made it in time
Peace, at last.
