First of all. Welcome to voice..
Like the foot pedal.
Very nicely done and clean looking.
One thing . If you have carpet. Put a little Velcro or some silicone on the bottom.
Helps it stay in place.
That's a cool project.
I assumed that you would put the switch inside the door stop when I saw the thumbnail. Drilling a hole makes a lot more sense.
Exactly what I was looking for. You're a star. 73's ON8EI John. PS Hope the hands improve.
Look out pal, they're gonna grab you for the remake of Zane Grey Theater,,,,,,, nice project John,,, thanks bud.
Sorry to hear the news about your arthritis giving you fits. I hope the doctors are able to get it under control so you can find relief soon.
Another clever idea.
Another affordable way to obtain a high quality foot switch is by using one that was intended for musical instruments. Mine is a Boss FS5U which retails for around 25 bucks new. Different brands start at 5 bucks in music stores. Also check for used ones on the usual auction sites.
John, Sorry to here about your arthritis. Might think about a keyboard for sending CW. That way you can still operate your favorite mode.
Did I miss something, how did you connect it to the radio, details!
Thanks for following along. I used an Icom mic interface cable. Each radio my have a specific adapter. ~John
thank you for video
The video jumped from the wire description finished project.. how exactly was the 1/4-in jack wired to the switch?
The switch only breaks the push to talk circuit between tip and ground.
Good timing! I’m trying this weekend, will they work with my bear feet?
Thanks for watching. Works with/without shoes. 73 ~John
Should have shown the complete project, this way you left the most important part out like the rj45 connector how did you wire into the jack , just saying*
Thanks for the feedback. You can find the wiring info for the microphone at 2:48 minute time in the video. For the footswitch, each radio will have slightly different on/off switching circuit for the microhome. Since I don't have info for every radio, I did not include that. You can find the info for your specific radio from your schematic and wire according. Hope this helps; 73/John
Like it! thanks John... 73

Made HF go kit inside repurposed Army ordinance box from Vietnam era
Looked like an easy project John, until I saw what it takes to get a PTT switch into a Yaesu 991a, once I find the answer I am going to build this project.
Found the correct wiring for the microphone and got an RJ45 wired for the switch, got it done!
Good looking boots!! thanks for the project. K8JLW
