Hey Kyle! When you get a chance try the 33 Fortin pedal. Sounds killer with rectifiers. And found it makes the blue channel on the 5150 el34 sound amazing.
I hear a lot of complaints about an overdrive killing the low end ,and when it comes to just jamming in the room, I agree. My favorite thing I learned for that is an eq in the loop. You can take any amp and dial it in to taste.
Depends on the amp, but I don't have that issue with the majority of amps I own. Only one that really comes to mind is the Mesa Stiletto Stage II which is pretty known for being light on the lows. EQ in the loop is never a bad idea though!
I like the 10 band upfront. It lets you tailor the distortion of the amp in a way it can't in the loop. Ideally you should run one in the loop and one upfront.
I’ve stacked a Maxon od808 with a Maxon Catalinbread modded anniversary pedal and got a similar if not same response in “grind” - so I guess money saved on my part.
Oh, fuck yeah! It has a grunty grind going on. The second you kicked in on the Rectifier, I was like, "oh yeah". I wonder if the 2203 stays tight if you dime the level and the gain, and how metal would it get?
Yeah man I dig it for sure. Diming the level on the 2203 is not something I will ever do, so we will never know. Haha! More than likely nothing would keep that tight though, because the power tube compression would mush it up regardless.
If the deadweald has the charge pump that runs it at 33v like the dirty tree does using the tc side will tighten that multiwatt more than any tube screamer ever could.
Godlyke just sold a batch of Fortin modded TS9s 🤔. Not sure if it's the same thing as the Fortin OD9. Kinda strange cause they both have the exact same description.
Tough to say without directly comparing them, but I do remember liking the Pro+ I had, though I don't think it had near the output of this one. Thanks for checking it out!
@@belligerentamateur I guess having the real thing next to a video would make a huge difference. Perhaps hearing them both live would change my mind. I've had the Fortin 33 and the precision drive amongst other OD's but none of them have come close to my ST9Pro. Subscribed 🤘🏻🤘🏻
@@belligerentamateur I helped put a show on they played at a tiny Moose Lodge . Those guys are incredible. One of the best bands I ever saw. Side note, you're channel is fantastic and I appreciate your efforts.
I can tell you in stock form the Maxon OD-9 has more low end and midrange bite. It’s not a huge difference, but definitely noticeable when going back forth. Great demo my dude!🤘🏻
The 33 is a clean boost (so no clipping like an overdrive) and it's a fixed frequency boost, perfect for an amp like a Mesa but sometimes doesn't really blend with alot of amps. If you can get one for a decent price snag one, also keep in mind this is a Maxon pedal which on their own are great overdrives like the classic od808, od808x and my favorite the od820 I think are great alternatives. This pedal though is as advertised, TIGHT!
A harm's way tee shirt is a weird thing since a harm's way show doesn't get rolling until James takes his shirt off. 😂
Man if that isn't a true statement

Yes the review would be welcomed, and to check if it's useful for standard tunings

I always use my noise gate in the effects loop. Sounds way better to me, personally. Another great video Kyle. Cheers
Thanks Man! Appreciate it!
Sounds killer.. you Should try the recto with a MXR10 band EQ in the loop.. or any amp for that matter it's incredible
I like the 10 band upfront. It lets you tailor the distortion of the amp in a way it can't in the loop. Ideally you should run one in the loop and one upfront.
Very cool! This old guy here heard the Alice Cooper riff and smiled :)
I've forgotten more old rock riffs than I remember, but that one always sticks! Lol
Holy bawlz! That Reco sounds AMAZING! I need to get one of those boosts!
It caught me off guard! Definitely a little special sauce on this one.
@@belligerentamateur you have 6L6 or El34s in the Recto? Maybe it's time I take out my Dual Rectifier!
@@frankvillatoro2331 6L6 my man! This Multiwatt is winning me over.
Nice video. Sounded great with the maxon pedal!
Thank you, hope it helped!
That multi-watts kills 🥴 so brutal !!!! Thank u Sir

Fantastic Demo!! We'll be adding it to our product page! :-D
Fantastic! Glad you felt I did the pedal justice.

@@belligerentamateur haha Diming a 2203 would equal death! I should have been a bit more clearer, I meant diming the level and gain on the Fortin.
It sounds great with these two.
Thanks for checking it out man. I agree
Bro - gonna need a shootout vs a regular OD9 (or TS9 if you don’t have the stock Maxon).
I put it up against the TS9 in this video. If someone wants to lend me an OD9, I'll gladly do a comparison video!
That makes me want to get one :) I got the Zuul gate a couple years ago and it’s a game changer. Enjoying the vids
Never messed with a Zuul but definitely remember people shitting their pants over them for a while. Haha! Thanks for checking this out!
Tell me you’re favourite pick: Mesa Grid Slammer or this Fortin OD-9 ?
Good demo 👍
I think the Fortin would translate better to more amps. The Grid Slammer is a situational boost for me, but it does super well in those situations!
If the deadweald has the charge pump that runs it at 33v like the dirty tree does using the tc side will tighten that multiwatt more than any tube screamer ever could.
I gotta check it out. They don't list all the features so I've had to mess with stuff my self to figure things out
I ran an ogre overdrive with my dual rec. Gain on 0 sounded SOOO heavy

Awesome video 👍🏻👍🏻.. Sounds killer but I think the Maxon ST9Pro+ Supertube sounds even better.

20db of output and a bit of eq just what you need ... i use a randall facepunch(fortin designed it) into my jcm 900 mkiii ... sounds glorious
Is there a difference between Ibanez ts9 fortin and Maxon ??????
got my fortin ibanez TS9 in today...
What bridge pup are you running in the Explorer?
Sounds great...where did you get yours from...if you don't mind me asking?
Thank you! Got it right from Godlyke. Was one of the first 100 run
Harms way shirt is sick! Slept on band
They're dope, every album has been a good evolution of their sound.

That pedal reach freaked me out at first when you adjusted it lol. Yep need sleep.
Bro you trippin
I'm hearing some sleeping eye iron age type riffs and I like it
Iron Age is the goods
So sick!
Just saw a demo of a pedal called "Slamurai Bushido drive", you might need it just for the name 👍
I have a video on it already!
@@belligerentamateur sweet, I'll look it up 👊
That really sounds great on the 2203. Curious if you have ever tried the Keeley modded TS9 and if so, how do you think they compare?
Man this really adds to both amps, check the prices on this pedal 🤪

I think I had one years and years ago but They were always worth so much more than my MXR and I liked it better so I moved them on.
so really all you need is a fuzztone ??
Could be wrong, but I thought the OD9 was identical in every way to the TS9 except for the name.
Does anyone recommend this over the Fortin 33?
They're 2 completely different beats, honestly.

Dat Explorer Doe!
She nice
Seems super noisy. Thanks for the demo
Shit sounds killer!
Thanks man! Agreed!
I’ve wanted one but they’re always sold out, and the prices these people are trying to sell them for? 😳
nice
Thanks my man
