- Kathryn’s brother is a monk. We love him and like listening to him talk. So.... here are some of his sounds from the other day.
We were outdoors on porch with good airflow. He’s been isolated at monastery so we weren’t worried about his exposure, but wore masks as we’ve been shopping a couple times.
1. Love the tape measure on Mandy’s waist 2. Love how he tenderly takes Kathryn’s hand in his 💗
Now theres a man who truely adores his wife..his affections towards her are effortless and truely beautiful. They lean into one another instictivly and seamlessly. What a wonderful bond...thankyou for sharing what you have together. It gives me hope that true love still exsists.
I grew up on the street with Catherine and her brothers. Never all these years later did I think that I would see any of them. What a delight. I'm closer in age to her youngest brother and remember him fondly
Mandy and family, these videos have helped me so much in not feeling alone and learning to lean into the wonder of life again after such an anxious and maddening couple of years. Thank you for sharing your existence and wisdom. Much love.
How wonderful to meet Kathryn's brother!
I need more Uncle Mike. I'm so glad I listened to this as my anxiety is at 11 and YES, I'm dwelling on the future.
Solid reminder to be present. Thank you
Brother Michael… so glorious to hear your voice after 40 years. Allison from the Great American days here…..love you ….. I’m thrilled for you… yes… right here, right now, you are a light in the storm.
Mandy and Kathryn are couple goals, i just love them.
I agree that anxiety comes from focusing on the past and anticipating the future. Mandy's tape-measure symbolizes being in the moment! Do something!
More unle monk please. Ty ❤️
I totally agree. I strive to be in the present moment as much as I can because this brings me the most peaceful feeling.
Oh, how marvelous! Many years ago our good friends had some Japanese Buddhist Monks staying with them on their journey from Japan through the world and stopping to pick up a few others and the thing was that they were WALKING constantly on the way to The White House with a very large, signed paper that stated people are opposed to nuclear weapons. They came to a Unitarian Church where we lived so we brought our kids and went along and it was fabulous and so meaningful! The way the walked the entire way, was this:even when they were on a ship one of them was constantly walking on the ship at all times. Thus, they indeed walked the entire way! And the feeling that evening was one of commitment and severance and oneness. We saw a film, heard some speakers and joined hands while we sang "We Shall Overcome" in a almost hypnotic, reverent and yet almost a happy party way. We were so grateful to our friends for including us and our little family. This was about 40 years ago and I remember it as if it were today.-(a line from a Harry Chapin song-Old College Avenue, which gets me to this very day.). Thank you one and all! Terri S.
I love your videos and I love your relationship. Your relationship as a couple is a wonderful example. I also appreciate your tenaciousness in sending out messages to take responsibility for change and peace. Thank you for making us part of your world.
Exactly, Uncle Mike. Don't focus on the past or the future. Be concerned with now, understand each moment at that time and live it, then let it go to live the next moment.
A beautiful and very useful message, especially in these times. Thank you.
Mandy and Kathryn - I hope you read these Comments. Hubbie and I are in our 35th year of Wedded "Bliss" 😂, so I really appreciate that you are one of the few that stuck it out, together. I love this series. It makes me laugh and think. Kathryn's brother, the Monk, really peaked my interest, because the other day, I watched your post where Mandy was explaining that he prays specific Hebrew prayers when he feeds the Dog twice a day. His prayerfulness and comments made me think about my late Aunts, and Parents, who used to travel from Ontario, Canada to Weston Vermont, two or 3 times a year to spend a weekend at a Benedictine Monastary called Weston Priory. One of my Aunts - a renowned Baker, would spend many days prior to the trip, Baking for both travellers and the Monks. I couldn't help thinking how you both, despite the difference in Faith, would appreciate the Simplicity and deep faith and creativity of this Religious Community, and also, that you would have had a great time with my Aunts and Patents, sitting around a dinner table, with lots of wine, discussion and song (my Dad had an awesome base voice - and had been singing since he was a boy choirister). Too bad some paths don't cross in this big, old world. Love the Vids. You guys are awesome.
Congratulations on 35 years together!
Oh - I needed to hear that today. Thank you🏞🌅
Brother Michael. Allison from the food and Bev in Westwood. Wanted to offer a hug and a hello from the deep past. Miss you like crazy. I’m married 19 years and happy as can be. I can see that you are as well. Your place In my history is so very valued. I’m so very happy to know you are thriving!!! Life is good.
You're so lucky to have known this man. Blessed is probably a better word. Do you know what order he's in? Just a simple 2.50 second video and I got more outta this than reading any self-help book. He seems like such a beautiful person.
@@usjockey I have no idea. I knew him thirty five years ago. Crazy time! He was an amazing human then … as he is now.
Omg this is so cool!!!
Kathryn and her brother look so much alike.
I like to calm mine using visualization meditations - imagining myself somewhere peaceful, calm, and really using my senses so that my brain believes I’m there. It really helps with anxiety.
I have enjoyed all of these. We are the same age and our kids laugh at us too
Mandy must be doing a project... Tape measure on his belt..... Nice to meet you....
Thanks for sharing the Buddhadharma.
I love that Mandy had a measuring tape on his belt
Excellent video
More Uncle Monk please!
Beautiful
I feel so relaxed after watching this.
I liked that analogy.
Apples and honey! Happy New Year, friends!
Excellent questions.
Love the tape measure on Mandy’s hip. Homage to This Old House?
I can tell how much K loves her brother. No offense but he didn't really seem that zen but ty for spreading the tips.
Mandy the handyman, tape measure at ready.
More vids with Uncle Mike!
💜💙👍👍
Measuring the level of anxiety? Not sure if the tape measure can do that.
LOL
Mandy looks very stressed here.
I Love you both, but you both need a whole bunch of what Kathryn's brother has going on.
Video should have been longer!
Sound is so low on many of these videos
How about managing anxiety by depending on GOD? In the Psalms He says “ Be still and know I am God.” I tell myself that God is in control.
Frances Hale AMEN!!!
