I have two kids and I talk to them in very similar ways! On the 3rd of May, my husband and I celebrated 29 years of marriage! My parents called each other "Mom" and "Dad", too. That's how I learned what to call them as a child. Did the same with my kids, who are meanwhile grown... And, yes, I still call their father "Papschi"... decades of force of habit. 😉
