@@xoMamaPlans the wrapping paper was the nice thick kind and it held up great. I didn’t use a clear cover on it. But did have it in a leather TN sometimes.
Loved watching you work through your planner dilemma. I had one also. I used to plan in a classic Happy Planner but in the middle of last year I completely fell off. I just couldn’t find the time to sit down and decorate and plan. I tracked everything in a PrintPressions personal planner so I could go back and plan but it just didn’t happen. So this year I decided to simplify. I bought a hard bound hourly planner off Amazon to test out and see if I like it. So far I am so happy with it and am considering splurging and purchasing a HOBO cousin.
Thank you sharing your planner struggles! It always is tough when you fall off and then to try get into it again. Glad you found something that is working for you ! 💕
Simplify is my word of the year. The CP is my main planner and I adore it. But I don’t use kits maybe once or twice a year but it’s rare. Not a fan of the look overall - too busy and I find it takes too much of my functional space. And I also don’t like it all matchy.I do some decor with stickers and washi but not much because I need the functional space.
I love that everyone has different planning styles! Thank you for sharing yours :) There are some weeks where functional works best for me but I can't help myself most of the time and need all the decor LOL!
Loved the update! Thank you! I also bought a cousin and am loving using it for the first time. I am getting to know how I want to use all my kits, so I was thrilled when you explained how you cut yours! Thank you for that!!!!
Thank you! The whole kit situation was what was holding me back a bit but once I did some slicing, everything looked great to me! Glad you are working your planning situation out💖
Great update! I am currently using 1 planner also for now. I was able to make it work for both my family and work planner. Currently I’m using an A5 stalogy that is cut down to standard size. Not sure how long I will be in it since I know it will get thick as the year goes on. On a side note, I miss Lanikai açaí bowls. I used to live in Kailua so I used to go there all the time.
Love that you simplified your planner lineup! I thought I could make it work but simple is just better for me. Less stress. That is what I am also worried about, the thickness and being able to write. Already thinking of the avec for next year. Love their acai bowls!
Hi Michelle! I love learning about your planner thought process. Last year was my pivotal year. I have really struggled with combining my creative and functional sides within my planner. I am also personally challenged by space/size. "Big," in general, overwhelms me. For me, having more than one planner is also just, too much. I can't handle it. I had started out in the EC, but the size is just too big, pages can't easily be added and I don't think I get value for price with the EC! I tried a Personal Size and A5 rings and just hated the rings. Then I tried the Classic HP...better price and I loved the disc system, but still too big. So I tried the Mini HP. The size is perfect for me! I just didn't like the insert designs. So, I found a printer who does inserts in the Mini HP size and designed my own set up that simply works perfect for me. I can control the overall size by the disc size I choose. I can easily remove/add pages when I need to and ALL of my planning is housed (including my memory planner pages) in the single planner. I hope you're having a great week. You sound wonderful and full of life. Thanks for sharing your experiences!
Thank you for sharing your planner struggles! It is nice to know that others go through it too. It is crazy how complex our brains are when it comes to figuring out what works and also how different everyone is! I am glad you found something that works! It is always a nice feeling when the majority of the struggle is over.
I am in the same issue. I have my work planner, personal planner and my health planner, All in different planners. I it's too much. I need all three to go into my rings. Last year I used my A6 rings for everything. Love my A6 rings but it's too small for everything. So going to try B6 rings. Does planner peace even real? Have a fantastic weekend.
B6 sounds like it would work. I personally don't like the width of the personal size. I like keeping work and personal separate. I think planner peace can be found but it can also change quickly LOL! Enjoy your weekend too!
My only issue with the cousin is that I feel EXTREMELY overwhelmed by the daily pages in the back. I don’t know how to lay them out. I don’t always have a ton going on in my brain that I need to get out. And then I feel like a planner failure when they are bland 😢
Totally get that. It is a huge space! Last year I got overwhelmed with the dailies and quick using it. This year, so far anyways... I feel like I need it. Told myself to not beat myself up if there is empty space. No planner failure mood! Use the planner how best fits you! Don't feel the need to get your planner all dolled up because the person next to you has theirs decorated and filled. Planning is very different for each person :)
I'm hardcore struggling with a planner this year. I used the michaels recollections planner in 2022 and I liked it, but it's discontinued. I have used an EC in the past and it gits my planning style perfectly, but I struggle with supporting EC anymore, but I might have too. I see the aura estelle clouds and print pression planners, but the cost is hard for me to justify as a sahm. I make my own stickers and foil and everything because I can't afford to purchase much of anything. I have tried the HP, however, the lack of space between each day doesn't work with my brain. it all blends together and gives me a headache. I'm hardcore struggling. the further we get into 2023 the more stressed I get. I don't wanna get far enough behind that I'm overwhelmed because planning is such a stress relief for me. if anyone can offer any help, I super appreciate it. 🥲🥲🥲
Ahhh! Don't stress. Have you thought of printable inserts. That can be affordable and if you you buy undated and since you can make your own stickers. It may take some time to find the perfect insert that works for your needs. I have searched hours for an insert that would suit my needs. Print pression can be on the cheaper side and once you find your size, just one ring planner could do the job. I get you on the HP! I tried it for a week and hated the lack of a gap in between days. Drove me Crazy. I hope the insert suggestion helps a little and I hope you find something that works for you!
20:21 I covered my Hobonichi in the past with wrapping paper. And I loved it. This year I’m doing a fabric cover. ❤
Oh! Did that hold up well? I guess with a plastic cover also could hold up. Thanks for sharing :)

I would love to see hobonichi cousin memory plan with me. I love seeing all different types of planning styles.
I’m going through the same thing! I have changed almost everything too. Love your new lineup!
Struggle is real but once the struggle is over it is nice!
Yes! I covered my textbook with paper grocer bags. They were stronger than book covers. #goodoldays
The good old simple days

Where did u get that cover for your hobonichi. I absolutely love it!
Aura estelle! I love her covers and also her rings because they are large.
@@xoMamaPlans thank u. I may need to check it out.

If you decide you really want to decorate the Hobonichi Cousin, you can always decide on the Avec.
Definitely thinking about that for 2024 :)
@xoMamaPlans , this is my second year in the Avec and I love it.
