Her first 3 albums are masterpieces IMO. She was untouchable in the 90's.

Fun Fact - most if not all of the drum sounds are sampled and manipulated sounds from the Icelandic landscape. Thermal vents, volcanic mud pools bubbling etc.

Björk is a whole experience. You should react to Homogenic, one of her best albums. It's full of richness and mixes these futuristic electronic elements with a classical approach in a very detailled way.

See what Kate Bush did already in the 80s. She was so ahead of her time, and also like Björk, always kept control of everything.

People always say "I want this song played at my funeral", but I've never been to a funeral at which a song was played. So I will just say that if songs were played at funerals, I'd want this played at mine. lol

The thing with this song... I’ve been listening to it for 20+ years. 20 YEARS! And I didn’t catch that bass line just RECENTLY (W/ the use of a “good” pair of headphones). It’s one of my top three favorite beats she’s created. Also, there’s another verse (maybe multiple verses) to this song that makes it even deeper. Ugh. So good.

Homogenic is one of the best albums of all times period.

I love how she stretches words out over several beats. Each syllable gets it's own note, or two, or three, like "e-mo-tion-a-a-l." It mirrors the expansive landscape that she's singing about, as well as the the bird's eye view of Iceland in the music video. Debut, Post, Homogenic and Vespertine are my favorite albums. Volta is my favorite later album. The other two later ones didn't grab me
