If you want to track how much stationery you use up, get a box for "2025 empties". It's for empty pens, inks, ink cartridges and sticker sheets, used up washi tapes, pens, notepads and notebooks and whatever else you finish next year. I did it for 2024 and it's amazing to see how much stationery I actually get through in a year because it's much less than I expected. I'm going on a stationery no-buy next year because with this data, I now know that if I keep buying stuff, I'll never be able to use it all and that's just a waste.
That's an awesome idea. I'm in Africa now so I don't buy stationary like I used to in the States. I miss it. Have to order it and it take forever to get here. Hate that. But I'll definitely will do this so I can see what I actually buy here.
This is such a common thing in the makeup world. Panning projects are absolutely a thing! The only journal I currently keep is my knitting journal (setting up several more for 2025 because I have multiple huge projects to manage next year) but even I finished 4 pens between last year & this year (I was sick for 6mo this year & didn’t knit a thing) and that total occurred even when tracking every project in a different color from the project before it… so without consistent use. I’d be so curious to know how many black fine liners Jess goes through in a year if she uses one until it dies and repeats the process. Also, for those who don’t want to keep a whole bin for empties (you only need to really do this if you want to make content about it at the end of the year) I suggest keeping a tracker for it. 25 empties in 2025. You can also go the way of a what makeup junkies call “Reverse Rouge” which is trying to use up $1000 worth of products in a year since that’s what you have to get to get Rouge VIB at Sephora. For stationary, you could “Earn Free Shipping” from a site you like with a high spending cap. Using your way through $150 in pens & stickers & tape should actually take a decent amount of time. See how many times in the year you can do it.
Unpopular opinion here: I actually like the ghosting on thinner paper. It makes me feel like my planner is actually being used. But more importantly, it allows me to be less precious. My page is never going to be perfect because of the ghosting, so it’s easier for me to ignore wonky lines and smudges and imperfect handwriting. On a blank page, those things really stand out, but they get lost in the background noise of the ghosted page.
My first bullet journal was one that had 100gsm paper, and I didn't mind the ghosting I got. Now that I've switched to a thicker page and I like that too! But there is something about the ghosting that isn't so bad!
In addition to using up our stationary stash I predict that people will be more selective of what they do buy. I also think we will see a more minimalistic approach to planning. And I love the idea of joy-naling. Jess, you need to copyright that 😁Thanks for another awesome episode!
I hear you, Jess, on the bullet journal content creator space transitioning more into simplified setups and this leaving a vacuum for new creators to step in and maybe bring in a breath of fresh air. I feel like there are very few creators from back in the day who are still standing within that original format, obviously the two of you being in this group. And to be quite honest, I miss having a wide variety of monthly “plan with me” videos every month - that sense of community and so many creative ideas to help inspire our own setups. I personally am not a fan of collages and heavy use of stickers, so these styles I see some of those creators gravitate towards now, don’t really float my boat. I’m a professional lettering artist and illustrator - I’m not saying I wouldn’t ever use stickers, but much like you, this is my creative outlet (doing something for myself for a change, since I’m always making art for clients). Unfortunately, there are so many people gravitating towards these more time efficient layouts, that people who enjoy the “old school”, decorated bullet journaling style, are left with a fraction of content to watch, compared to how it used to be. I, myself, have considered staring a UA-cam channel, like you’re suggesting - but can’t ever seem to get around to it. And also I wonder: if so many people stopped creating this type of content, is there even still a significant enough audience out there that’s interested in it? Even though I’m a professional artist, I very much enjoy exercising creativity in a solution oriented sense: effective spreads, thought process behind creating them, etc. But what do you think: are people still interested in content that looks more like 5 years ago?
Come from Spotify just to say- the shop your stash sounds excellent fun. I would love a planner pals podcast ‘shop your stash’ challenge/bingo board to try and cross off :)
I love how so many of the things I used in Scrapbooking are now being used in Journals. I've always used stamps in my journals they make life so much easier! I have so many stamps that I am afraid to count them. I have more Washi Tape than I care to admit, but I use it all the time, and keep adding to it. I'm not sure I will live long enough to actually use them all, but I'll give it a go. And digital stickers are a godsend to me. Living in Australia means everything I truly wants costs 3 times what it cost me in the USA. It drives me insane that I can't afford to buy the Archer & Olive journals that I want and have to settle for what is available here in Australia. *sighs* Mark, the Brother works FABULOUSLY with digital stickers, it scans and cuts the stickers. I'm not a huge fan of cricut because the one I had was limited by the cartridges, great for scrapping not so great for journals. So if you don't like the cricut, by all means get the Brother Scan and Cut!
I also think there are ethical ways to integrate the use of AI. For grammar checks it has been such a game changer. I have a TBI and issues with short term memory and my cognitive energy and it's reserves are different. Having editing helps bridge the gap in bad brain days as I have a book I'm publishing and making it pretty
I like stamps, I just don't have the patience for stamp ink to dry. I sometimes just use my markers on them, it dries quicker and I have a wider selection of colors. *Jess- I would totally be your Cricut setup pal, mine has been giving me the side eye for at least 2-3 years!* I used a Mäkselife planner for a year and I liked it but setting up my own worked better for me. I use the creativity part as a form of therapy. In anticipation of prices and shipping going up next year I am going to try to just use up what I have. I can't predict what people will want to do next year , they are too darn fickle!!
Tip : Cindy Guenther Baldor did a no buy/low buy year and going through what she already had. And for the prediction I'm gonna go with, there will be more rpg bullet journals. I'dk just have a feeling. Hehe.
I loved when Cindy did that and how she would pick the ones she was going to try to use up in a given month. It wasn't just random, she had said she was going to try to get through these 2 specific washi tapes or whatever.
To go along with this… I actually firmly believe there is a large audience who want to see realistic usage. Yes, Jess & Mark have the stashes they do because this is a job for them and they get free stuff sent to them… but that’s not the case for most folks. The reality is, most people need to finish what they have or trade it with others to get fresh stock without spending more $$. I absolutely do believe there’s space for content around “how many different vibes/themes can I create using this 1 PET or washi tape as my inspiration. I’d watch the heck out of content like that. I’d also be so down for “Palette Roulette” where a random generator picks numbers for the supplies in your stash & you have to figure out a layout for those colors. If I had enough supplies, I’d make those videos myself LoL
I personally agree with long-term uses of stationery purchases! New to the hobby, but as cute as one-time use stickers are I love getting more bang for my buck. Stamps are definitely a learning curve, but am loving it so far!
What I think or maybe hope I see next year is stationary thrift store kinda things, coz we all have stuff we don’t use anymore even though they still have a lot of use left in them❤
I love planner predictions! It's all good fun. Hobonichi and Sterling Ink will dominate. I dont see stamps getting more popular, but I definitely see stickers from indie shops being strong. Kits and the overly elaborate spread trend are phasing out for sure. I personally dont watch them anymore. I think simple doodle art that represents something that happened during the day will continue to be a popular trend. Joy journaling memory keeping has been on trend already and will continue into 2025 🎉❤ Definitely shopping ones stash will be a thing....especially as inflation continues to rise and people need to make a choice between stationery, food, gas etc.
joynaling. That is a good description of what I am currently doing. The protracted decorating was taking up too much time although I enjoyed it. I am tracking certain things I have to do everyday; but other change with my interests.
I'd be excited to see more stamps being used... I use them a lot myself. Plus I'd predict people moving to anything that makes their lives easier or more precisely, simple. Personally, the cost of living is hitting hard so having product not being used just seems a little wasteful so being very mindful of purchases has become a huge factor.
I think yall are right about people moving more towards pre-printed planners. Similarly, but not quite, I’m going to do a very pared-back bujo this year - more in line with the original bujo method but maybe with some planner elements (mainly full calendars set up at the beginning). I still want to be creative with my books but would prefer to do it in my reading and personal journals.
I've been using stamps since I moved into the Hobonichi Cousin in 2016. I prefer stickers because I don't want to pull out inks every time, but I didn't want to bulk up my planner since it goes everywhere with me. I would never fussy cut stickers so no digital for me. Within the Hobonichi community, there are a lot of complaints that since the sale of Tomoe River, the paper does not handle fountain pen inks as well. I also got a response from a paper expert that the Tomoe is moving their paper to handle friXion more than fountain pen inks. Totally agree the people will use their stash. BTW I got journalize shimmer ink and a Teranishi glass dip pen with cap. It inspires me to write my gratitudes in my Hobonichi again.
Jess, thanks to you I print out my headers in a font I like on sticker paper. I can’t ever write anything large and beautiful without mistakes! I also have been utilizing more stamps as well
the moving into planners... I think is a good one as so many BUJO creators are moving from bullet journals as they're needing a break after they've done it for so long and stating they need to regenerate and give themselves a different creative outlet for a bit.
I just ordered a Brother Scan ‘N Cut and sticker paper and cannot wait to make my own stickers. I’ve tried cutting my prints with stickers but I prefer the even sticker border look.
As per usual, what a great episode. I love what you both have said. I think using the stash is going to be the thing. Especially with the uncertainty of the Canada Post strike and potential tariffs, along with just generally things getting more expensive.
It's interesting that you say "maturing" out of bullet journaling. I am 68 years old and retired, I started the bujo thing 2 years ago. So I began with plenty of time, good finances (I'm very grateful), and went art school for collage so I could really lean into it. But I knew from the beginning that I didn't want to do it all, that I wanted to only use a few trackers, few goals, etc. Lately I've been watching book journaling videos, which I love the idea of, but I also know that I don't want sooo much. I've decided to add one bookshelf spread per season, and that's all I need. I do think you could put some focus on your older audience. I love your videos!!
I wanted to feel more comfortable with scrapbook-style decorating in my new notebooks, so I started trying to create things I've seen online in an older notebook I couldn't bring myself to throw away. Apparently, I've created an R &D Journal 😄 💜
Jashii- you could do a challenge series for yourself, “shopping my stash”, and challenge yourself to do themes with your own supplies. It’s ok if you can get it anymore, just put a disclaimer if you feel badly about it. I think it would be fun to see you do that and I’m sure it would motivate others to do the same. 🙌
My craft crap stash is overwhelming, as I was listening I was thinking about oh I should get my Christmas stamps, washi tape, stickers out. Instead I grabbed a pen and drew a snowman and a tree. Is it perfect NO! but it's done and I'm not overwhelmed with all my crap
Mark, you could make a cootie catcher, category (stamp, sticker, marker), color, and a third one, then find something in your stash that meets all three criteria.
I think shopping your stash is a great idea. It's very expensive to get items shipped from the US to Europe (where I am) so now I shop within the EU or just try to use whatever I have!
I’ve gone back and forth on physical and digital planning, but I started a new job and found that I prefer paper planning for that. On the digital sticker note, I have 5-6 Etsy shops that I bought “whole store” listings from and I combine as needed to form a cohesive collection for a month
Im with you there Mark. Ive been BJing since 2019, having a job all the time. But this fall I just fall out of it, and my life felt so unorganised. I just moved into 2 TN regular, and it fit me perfectly. I have everything, both private, job, my Catch all and even my common book at the same place but in different inserts. And its not as heavy to carry :) Still reflekt and using stickers etc :)
PROJECT PANNING! So there’s this idea in the beauty community of “panning” a product (using it enough to use it up or “hit pan” on products that have them) and that’s basically what Jess was mentioning at the end. One of my journaling layouts is actually keeping track of my products that I’m panning.
Now I have a bullet journal A5, and a traveler's notebook passport with undated weeklies. Some months I use one, then some months use the other. In that way, I can enjoy both systems.
I've had a few years of pre-formatted journals and I am starting an A&O journal with my own format in 2025. I found I lost focus on my goals in the pre-made journals. I needed the refocus with the manual process. We'll see how it goes in the new year. Fingers crossed 🤞
Am using my Hobonichi again this year, but, Jess , you have been so inspiring! Will be using a collections book, to try some of your ideas on different spreads, and utilizing some ideas in my Hobi too. I do want to try using stamps. What is the stamp video you mentioned?
I 100% plan on shopping my stash in 2025. And also may start exploring AI type planning bc I use a digital calendar at my current job and find Im touching my planner/journal super rarely and tasks on my personal list are hard to manage. Finding that balance is tricky and has been tricky!!
This podcast has become my MUST watch! Getting the best of both worlds/sides of journaling and planning. All too often I find myself switching between decorative and creative “joy-naling “, and minimalist, less decorative functional layouts in the immediate moment.
I like the creative aspect of planning, but it's not for everyone. I'm making my first journal, but I'm not expecting perfection. I'm just jumping in. Is there going to be mistakes? Yep. Is that ok? Yep. It's something I want to enjoy and play with and don't want to stress myself out trying to make it social media perfect. It steals the joy. For me I think it needs to be a blend of functionality and creativity. But I'm only doing a 6 month journal so well see how I feel in 6 months lol!! I love stamping!! I can't draw to save my life, but it's nice to stamp and get something that looks decent and helps with the repetitive things like weeklies or something. For me writing something down actually helps me remember better, because I can mentally pull up the picture of me writing it down. I don't get that with a digital calendar.
I'm moving from Hobonichi Cousin (monthly, weekly, daily) to a Hobonichi Day Free (monthly only, with plenty of grid pages I am going to use to set up spreads). Wish me luck, LOL. I did allow myself to start earlier--usually I deck the planner during Christmas to New Year's--so I've done the stickers and washi (minus month names) on the Hobonichi and on my MakseLife Companion Notebooks through the end of Q3. I'm likely to leave some of the pages blank and set them up later (like I was thinking of two-page for the beginning of each month to add notes, or a checklist for the month that isn't necessarily related to any specific day), but I need to have a least a few months of weeklies set up. That said, I'm not going for a unique insane spread each week. It's going to be more like "here are the two pages for this week and now I draw the boxes for the days" with stickers and washi. On that note, I have PLENTY of stuff in my stash. I'm not giving up my subscriptions, but I am giving up my recreational buying...and I'm setting up non-planner notebooks for projects (because they might go longer than 2025) so I can use my stash there too.
I think we'll see the "shop your stash" for unfortunately real world tariffs/mail issues. I love the Joy-naling idea though like Jersey by way of Kiwi.
I am very interested in stamps and how to use ink to decorate my pages. But I'll still looking up more info, plus i don't have a dedicated planning place. So i feel like I'll lose my stamps, especially since my children will use it I definitely use digital sticker packs. But the ✂️ is tedious. So im interested in a mini circuit or any other sticker cutting machine
I’m 100% with Jess that I think stamps are going to be bigger this next year and also the more universal sticker kits. I also am wondering if stencils might be bigger this next year. I think it will intimate come down to the economy at least for us people with the potential of big tariffs. There might also be a push for more local products. I haven’t thought about digital but you’re right that is a good option. Lettering I think will be another trend.
On the creative "joy-nalling" I often joke "I'm a super creative person trapped in a body that can't draw for s*t" but there's other ways to be creative. I have FAR more washi tapes than is healthy, sometimes stickers but also just google, print own photos (eg a trees theme go out take photos of trees), I keep saying I should get into stamps
I’m moving back into a hobonichi mainly because it has all the preprinted pages I want, and lets me decorate as I want rather than making layouts from scratch
I detest creating spreads, but I love the freedom to add collections, notes, doodles, journal entries. I moved from pure BuJo a few years ago and have tried a few planners. I didn’t like the dated dailies - especially Hobonichi who decided we should all have lots of pink across the pages! I have found a happy medium in those planners that recognise the value of a hybrid method - such as Wonderland222 and Sterling Ink, but they’re not perfect (edit - for me!). For 2025 I’m pitting several planners against each other, including using a Sterling Ink monthly planner and separate notebook as my hybrid - thereby not having to change out my journal, notes and collections every year just because of no good reason I can find. I’ll do a similar for my on the go using the passport weekly booklet and an a6 notebook - got lots of them in the house! I’m setting these against the W222, the SICP and the new Just Scribble planner and the Journey Planner - these latter have dated dailies, so I’m giving them a go too! As I look at them, I’m quite excited about the A6 Just Scribble horizontal weekly planner. The W222 is the A5 to beat. Come what may, I am choosing one A5 and one A6 system for 2026 and beyond. I was so shocked at how easily I preordered what looked good in the moment. 😅
I think I'll be moving towards a simpler BUJO system. I'm working full time now and that means I don't have as much time as I used to for journaling. I will also start a collections journal so that I can track a few things more long-term in one journal instead of always writing those pages out when a new year begins.
Fully embracing joynaling in 2025! I need my pages cute and overdecorated 😅Sadly I can't stand digital 😂 I've tried sooo many times but it just never worked out.
I use a combination of pre-printed stuff and journaling. For my main calendar, I've gone back to the Happy Planner. But, I have a journal for all my memory keeping and as my diary. And I have project journals for my writing. What I like about the Happy Planner is the disc system allows you to add stuff so I bought some black cardstock so I can have fun with my gel pens.
well yeah I go through your whole catalogues 😀 (some videos even like 5 times) but I don't mind seeing the same washi tape or stickers or stamps for x-th time 😀
I have soooooooo many stickers. I just watched planning with kay and her mother has been doing collages with extra and unwanted stickers. I think i want to try collage to use up extra stickers. As far as cutting stickers i am looking at the brother scan and cut to avoid the computer part of sticker cutting.
Huge fan of Planning with Kay--she's inspired me to create some sticker collages this year (which I have not done)... I am in her Patreon, so I also print her pre-made collages (they are my cover this year!).
Hiya. 50 y/o, been trying so many different planners through the years. Started last years planning season with Jess. Made a lovely 3 month bujo (Leuchterm), then full stop. I loved that I could lay it out how I liked it, loathed the drawing/setup for it, and the paper was yucky. I've been researching and watching Hobonichi videos for at least 6 years, finally pulled the trigger and bought a cousin & a weeks. Also picked up a Kinbor Weeks for my everyday carry. Will be using the Cousin as my main planner/memory keeper. The Hobo Weeks as my financial planner, and the Kinbor will be my EDC. I ordered a bunch of planner stickers, and signed up for a Hubman & Chubgirl monthly kit subscription to see what that's all about. My decor part of my planners is best described as a riot of color trapped in controlled chaos. I'm utilizing much of what I learned during my 3 month bujo by implementing some in my planners. I ❤ Jashii, she has taught this old lady a lot, thank you. Sending support, love, and kindness from Lexington, MI, USA.
I would love love love using my stamp sets….but I also love TRP and the inks all bled unless I stamp on sticker paper first. I don’t reach for them often, but really should.
Love the idea of a spread to use up items from my stash. It's getting so bad I've thought about starting my own youtube channel just to make fake spreads or something. I already have a regular journal, a forever-journal, a book journal, and a couple junk/scratch journals. The junk/scratch ones let me use up my washii tape and stickers better than everything else does. I know the real answer is to stop buying but I have a problem. So many problems.
Re: joy-naling/creativity: it made me think of my mom 😂 she's always like "I'm not creative" and then she sends this video of this elaborate Lego winter village she set up. And I'm just like what do you mean?! 😂 well it's because she can't draw/do crafts. There should be more emphasis on the full scale of creativity. I love you guys doing just that here ❤
I had no idea that clickart works on stamps! Maybe I’ll actually try out my stamps now. I don’t use them because it seems messier and more complicated to me than stickers. I like the idea that they wouldn’t bulk my planner up as much though.
I am one of those who is going to try to use up my stash of journals, stickers, and other stationary supplies. I'm actually doing that across the board with books and clothes too. It's going to be a very low spend year for me in 2025.
My weekly takes 1 minute because I don’t really do one as I am all about the dailies. Monthly takes 5 min. I don’t do stickers, stamps, drawing, nothing. It’s pure function for me.
I already stamp. I have so many stamps, but I am moving away from dot grid and to blank pages. I like the freedom to make bad sketches, stenciling, and of course, stamps.
I literally watched the ink pad video you mention here earlier today. I am starting a reading journal for 2025. I didn't want to write reviews so I designed some small stamps that I plan to carve to use instead. Stamps are the thing for 2025 at least for me so your prediction is right jess lol
Personally, I'm moving away from predated planners and more towards the bujo. I'm still going to use my predated planner but a smaller one that doesn't take up much of my time (Jibun Techo days). I will talk about it in future videos as well, but I want to be much more creative in 2025 so the bujo is better for that 😊
Sounds like people vary from whether they wish to give the time to the process or the finished product. I’m a process person, that’s where the calm develops, so ‘you do you’.
"it's not you, it's the tool!" LOL in South Africa - a tool is not just a thing to use, it's a name given to someone who is a (bit of a ) moron - I'm still laughing! Love you guys!
I spent $16 on letter wooden stamps and they are warping. When I use them now they leave the square around the letter. Its like the stamp pad is soaking up the ink or cleaner from the cleaning wipe I use to wipe the ink off. I think I am going to have to switch over to the plastic ones.
I’m just not inspired to purchase any of the new planners. I have so many disc planner covers, inserts, and discs that I am just going to buy insert paper from Amazon. I also have too many stickers so I do plan to use my stash in 2025. Great predictions!
I saw a great idea the other day where you stamp onto blank sticker paper or a sheet of sticky washi paper and then cut it out and use as a sticker! Edit: they were talking about a similar process with digital purchases a minute after I posted this 😂
What a great discssion on this podcast. I think that in 2025, we'll see less journal-hopping, where people move from one journal to another during the year bacause they don't like some small feature of the journal. Prices are going up. Shipping costs are going up. The number of journal companies creating the same journals is going up. So I think that more people will stick to the journals they buy for the start of the year, and use them for the rest of the year.
my prediction: reusable planners! with like laminated pages and special pens/eraser stuff to erase when you’re ready ☺️ (if A&O comes out with this in the next year then i claim credit)
I think all will depends of trends that some creators get well done, for example: thecoffeemonster girl made very popular Hobbonichi with the different ways that she use, a lot of people don't see behind the scene how long she has to wait for ink to dry and how thin is the paper and jump in that trend fast, because it looks so cute. Another trend is the one that Heba Alsibai from My little Journal create it is the use of the Hemlock planner. It is all visual, people what looks so good and want to try to imitate it. maybe 2025 bring a mix media creator that will make people love to jump in a simple bullet journal without so many extra pages and simplified. I love to watch all the creative people and all the pages that they create, but when it is reality, I like simple and something that I will be able to use doing what i love to do in the time that I have left after work. Great video guys, i loved.
A hundred years ago (okay, maybe in 1997 ish) I got involved in the Stampin Up craze. I only had an interest in making cards and coloring, but I only purchased their products and it became very expensive. I finally sold my huge collection in a yard sale in 2002. When I started watching this journaling community, I saw a few people using stamps. I absolutely refuse to get into using them again. Stickers, yes. Stamps, no.
I just bought Archer and Olive download sticker tabs and they only come on PDF. Since I don't pay for Adobe it is really hard set up and you can't really use your cricket to cut out. It sucks. Downloads should not be PDFs. SWG, PNG or JPG
I like stamps OK, but I have a Siser Juliet that cuts stickers all the way to the design. I did love my Cricut, it was the first machine that I had, it’s extremely easy to use so I actually have no idea why most Bullet Journalers aren’t using one. I’ve never cut stickers by hand, and I never will be able to, even though I have tried. Also, if you’re working on one of the unique paper colors like in the blue scale pad that I got from Archer and Olive for the Black Friday sale, or some other color design, and you wanna use an offset that matches that color, you can do that with any cutting machine that you have. I prefer my Juliet because it is super accurate and cuts all the way to the design, so I don’t ever have to use an offset if I don’t want to, but very few people are as OCD as I am! 🤣 Joynaling sounds great, though! ❤ I definitely need more Joy!
I love you guys getting together and doing this. I'd like to give feedback as a new journal gal. Could you give visual examples of what your talking about. Also, links to the creators you reference so I can see examples
I can't do digital to dos. If it's digital I just shut off the notifications when they come through because inevitably I am doing something else. And then it gets forgotten. HAVE to have a paper list.
This just popped up on my feed. I saw Jess face and I had to check it out. So glad I did. Mark, I look forward to getting to know you. Of course I'm now a brand new subscriber. Lol 🤣😂 By the way my name is Aissa
@PlannerPalsPodcast Thank you. Have been binge watching the podcast. Since they are long I do 2 to 4 a day. Have to start over though so I can take notes. Need to have a dedicated notebook just for this? Lol 😂😆🤣😄 I do have a question: when does the new podcast post on UA-cam? Don't want to miss it💙💜😍🥰
Get a Brother Scan n Cut instead of the Cricut. It scans and cuts very quickly. There is no set up. I love mine and use it almost every day to cut something!
I tried looking that up but the Brother website is a consumer disaster. I can't even figure out which machine I'd want, and it isn't clear if any of them also print (like can I print and cut the stickers or do I need a separate printer to print?).
What an amazing idea! I think this could help with my use paralysis.
Same for me!!!
I’m so weird, I like ghosting on some things, but not on others 😂
Same!
Same!
My first bullet journal was one that had 100gsm paper, and I didn't mind the ghosting I got.
Now that I've switched to a thicker page and I like that too!
But there is something about the ghosting that isn't so bad!
Jess saying "Joy-nalling"... I absolutely had a mental image of Bugs Bunny saying that!! ❤❤ love it!!!
Hahaha. -Mark
I love all your planner predictions and your mutual respect for differing ideas.
Thanks! 😄 Glad you enjoyed the episode!
*sighs*
Mark, the Brother works FABULOUSLY with digital stickers, it scans and cuts the stickers.
16:04 AY IM JOINALLING ‘ERE
😂 yeah I think we miiiight see more RPG elements too 😝 - Jess
I miss Cindy's content 😢
00:24 😂😂😂 you guys I didn't even notice it until you brought it up 😂😂😂
Haha it's a common consideration for us before we hit record 😂
What I think or maybe hope I see next year is stationary thrift store kinda things, coz we all have stuff we don’t use anymore even though they still have a lot of use left in them❤
Yay! Listening to a new episode is always a treat, but I'm going to dye my hair and you both will be keeping me company while the timer is going!
Don't miss your time-to-wash timer! 😛 Happy to keep you company 💪
@PlannerPalsPodcast lol thanks Jess, that "sounds" like you. I don't like to wander around while dying, I get red hair dye everywhere. Rinse time!
47:47 Exactly _how will you use your stash_ next year? I would _LOVE_ to see it. 🥳
Thanks for checking out the episode today -Mark
I just ordered a Brother Scan ‘N Cut and sticker paper and cannot wait to make my own stickers. I’ve tried cutting my prints with stickers but I prefer the even sticker border look.
I agree about shopping one's stash. And also finding ways to re-purpose the unused journals/sections of journals.
I just hope that there will be more love for B5 users next year as far as accessories and such go. I do think stamps are picking up in popularity.
I want to scan my old notebooks this year so I can save them digitally to free up space in my home - I love the idea of using our stash too
My craft crap stash is overwhelming, as I was listening I was thinking about oh I should get my Christmas stamps, washi tape, stickers out.
You are right, I moved to a completely empty Stalogy this year from a very busy calendar last year. 😻
10:53 Ana from Journal Away is also switching to a hobonichi. I agree, I think premade planners are going to become more popular next year!
Legit one of the people who came to mind when Mark shared that prediction 😝 - Jess
Love the gaming joynaling…vitality, spirit, and charisma.
I’m using stamps for sure. Just bought some today 😂I am a card maker so stamps are my jam ❤❤❤❤❤
Love that!!! -Mark
You got this 💪 Hope it works well for you 😄
Am using my Hobonichi again this year, but, Jess , you have been so inspiring!
I just stumbled on y’all’s post and I’m beyond happy about this video. Thank you both for this!
Glad to have you here with us 😄
This podcast has become my MUST watch!
Im going to master washi-tape at all costs! haha. Stamps and scrap paper are also on my radar. I also want to try printing photos
The money issues is a very possible bit issue for so many -Mark
I am very interested in stamps and how to use ink to decorate my pages. But I'll still looking up more info, plus i don't have a dedicated planning place. So i feel like I'll lose my stamps, especially since my children will use it
I definitely use digital sticker packs.
I think we're split from the same atom 😂 😂
❤️ Merry Christmas
I am a stamper primarily. Trying journaling this year. Don’t do digital. I don’t draw so stamp letters and scenes
I use a lot of stencils.
Reusable and can be used in a lot of different ways
I just bought a journal club preprinted 2025 planner so totally get the want to be creative but need a break from creating something every month
December has been "leftover" month for me. All of my layouts use stickers left over from other layouts this year.
I literally watched the ink pad video you mention here earlier today. I am starting a reading journal for 2025. I didn't want to write reviews so I designed some small stamps that I plan to carve to use instead. Stamps are the thing for 2025 at least for me so your prediction is right jess lol
Haha glad we're got at least one person that aligns with that prediction! 😂Sound like a great way to use a stamp 💪
Stamps absolutely scare me 🤣 it’s so permanent which is silly because so are stickers once you put them down but it’s scarier for some reason.
There are whiteboard notebooks and rocket notebooks.
@ yeah but A&O might do it
@@azulolympia, they might! Send an email to them!
I like stamps, scared to use in Notebook.
One option is to use them on separate paper and then stuck-and-stick 🤔 But that certainly adds to the time taken
I am the same way. A snooze task becomes a forgotten one. -Mark
This just popped up on my feed. I saw Jess face and I had to check it out. So glad I did. Mark, I look forward to getting to know you. Of course I'm now a brand new subscriber. Lol 🤣😂 By the way my name is Aissa
Glad to have you over here with us, Aissa 😄
@PlannerPalsPodcast Thank you. Have been binge watching the podcast. Since they are long I do 2 to 4 a day. Have to start over though so I can take notes. Need to have a dedicated notebook just for this? Lol 😂😆🤣😄 I do have a question: when does the new podcast post on UA-cam? Don't want to miss it💙💜😍🥰
With you on the sticker / printable prediction
Get a Brother Scan n Cut instead of the Cricut. It scans and cuts very quickly. There is no set up. I love mine and use it almost every day to cut something!
I tried looking that up but the Brother website is a consumer disaster. I can't even figure out which machine I'd want, and it isn't clear if any of them also print (like can I print and cut the stickers or do I need a separate printer to print?).
I just bought more stamps and stencils.
I love using dark grey stamping if I’m going to colour it in, but the inks I have do bleed. Can you link that video you mentioned Jess?
Joy-naling is my primary motivation for bujo!
Planners instead of bullet journals works for me . I have two kids under 2 years old. There is no time to create spreads.
stamp dabbler here too
Did Jess just do The Robot?
