I think finding planner peace in one book is doable, for example how Helen from the coffee monster co does it. She both functionally plans and memory keeps in the same book.
But I struggle with this a lot. Planners for me are functional and not things I want to keep. I have no need reminisce about that day six years ago that I went to work or cleaned my bathroom. I also do not want to keep my journaling because most of it is just brain dumping.
I have found a kind of planner peace with having the planner in an e-ink notebook and dailies in a physical notebook. The planner is where I pre-plan both events and my weekly todo's while the physical notebook is my EDC and kind of a catch all notebook. The e-ink notebook is also where I journal, common place and keep my writing notebook. So even though it's theoretically one item, counting all the notebooks I have in there it's more than one.
On top of this I do have my google calendar up to date, so if I'm out and about I can still reference to what I'm doing a month from now.
For memory keeping I have a catch all stalogy where I review books if I feel like it and write down the events I do want to remember. It's a no pressure memory keeping system, because it's undated.
I say kind of planner peace because even though this is working I do keep longing to try out a paper tess B6 or a sterling ink. But... the price of those planners do bring a level of pressure to the item. With shipping the price of one planner will be over 50€ so the presure to stick with them and use them for a year is immense. And throwing them away after the year is over? How am I supposed to do that when they costed so much?
The pdf planner I bought and have been using now and will use for next year was less than 4€. Deleting the file at the end of the year won't feel like anything and if in six month I find out I hate it, it's not a huge loss.
Anyhow, thanks for this video. Your lineup looks really good and I'm looking forward to see you settle into them next year. The only thing I'm wondering is that won't you feel you are journaling duplicate when you do it both in the cousin and the sterling ink?

Helen uses 4 books, though. Hobonichi Cousin, Leuchtturm Pocket A6 Bullet Journal, Take A Note A5, and Stalogy Notebook. I do think its possible to find planner peace in one book, but it really heavily depends on your expectations. I have a Hobonichi Cousin and Happy Planner BIG for 2025, but I definitely have a wandering eye. lol

Thank you for watching! What is an e-ink planner exactly? I’m not sure I’ve heard that before. I do get what you mean how planners like sterling ink are quite expensive but it’s a containable hobby for me since I don’t spend a lot on more markers or stickers anymore. I’ve been only using what I have for the past 6 months. I did think about if journaling would feel doubled in the cousin and sterling ink but my intention is to only journal/moan/braindump about work stuff in SI and only do for personal stuff in the cousin. I found compartmentalizing the topics has helped me focus better and release stress better 😅

@@bedhead-studiothat’s true Helen does use quite a bit. But planning is truly her bread and butter so I get it and she has a business to maintain. The wandering eye affects us all doesn’t it 😂

@@Rosyrespark The e-ink device I use is a supernote and the planner I bought from etsy. It's an hyperlinked pdf that mimics the hobonichi cousin + has some notes and collection pages in the back. There are both vertical and horizontal versions and I opted for the horizontal because that's more my thing.
Splitting journaling to personal/work makes sense specially if it helps with stress.
And I can completely understand spending money on a hobby.

Great lineup 😍 I’m going to be using EC Daily Duo for work and Sterling ink compact A5 for weekly planning with personal and work.

Have you ever looked up Kinbor A5 planners? Same idea as the cousin without the weeklies 😊

I didn’t know they came in a5! I’ve only see the weeks size so didn’t look a lot further into it. Kinbor is much cheaper too! Is Kinbor what you use?
