That was fair but there is some big differences between HHI and Bluffton/Mainland. Depends what you have going on? I lived on the island during the 90's and was single, I loved the place. Got married with children most likely coming up so I built a house out in Bluffton which turned out a very good decisions for various reasons. I lived in PD which I had access to the ocean when ever I wanted, shopping across the street, bars down the street, golfed a lot. At that point in my life that worked for me. Life changes and Bluffton suited me more.
It's all what you are looking for. Just because you can afford it doesn't mean you should be there. I'm out in Bluffton with several wealthy men on my street because It's a kids neighborhood which that's what we were looking for, the people haven't changed for 20 years for the most part. Whether for the good or the bad the street knows each other straight up. HHI doesn't have that feel at all.
Trust me the ocean gets old. Especially when a storm goes by and you have sea water squirting in through your windows because the chalk is shot. Anything dealing with salt water takes much more upkeep. I lived on the ocean for 10 years so take it with a grain of salt....

I contacted your agency and emailed a couple of times stating we are coming in June from IL. Sadly I believe it was Cristine never responded to me to set up an appointment. My last email to her was March 9th. I have a feeling because I originally said we are not moving until May ‘22. You sounded great in all your videos but I need a realtor that will correspond with me. This is a huge move.

I think HH is a nice vacation spot, or a place to go for dinner, but I prefer an actual town. I know you live in Bluffton, so are obviously biased for it (I have not explored it as much), but I have always been most impressed with Beaufort. Other than being closer to Savannah (for airport/culture/added restaurants), what do you find advantageous about Bluffton vs Beaufort? Perhaps you have done a comparison video, but I have not seen it. I love the entire Lowcountry, and have seen most of it, but Bluffton is not a place I have really explored.
Jim-Thanks for the comment. I do a lot of business on the mainland. I do some business on the island. It is probably 75%-25%. I actually just shot a video about Beaufort vs Bluffton. It should come out next Wed. Beaufort has Habersham and Dataw Island near by. After that is is hit or miss. It is a nice area, but it just doesn't compare to Bluffton with things to do, food and fun. Just my opinion.
@@TheJohnWeberTeam I will look for the video. I think Bluffton's population is about double Beaufort's, but the beach access appears to be easier in Beaufort. Thanks for shsring!

I found Hilton Head Island to be super crowded (I was there in late September) and very built up. It is not a place that I would care to live.

Are the taxes cheaper on the mainland? Do you get more house for your money on the mainland?
Beaufort county is the same on the island and off. Maybe more house for the money on the mainland.

Good question! I think you get more on the mainland.
That is a good question. I would say Bluffton but the prices and the age of the houses is different. Hard question actually. Bluffton is not cheap by many peoples standards.

The first time I went to Ocean City, NJ Beach, I was outraged, but those blue, high-tax states never miss an opportunity with their hands out. I do not think the beach there is that nice, though the boardwalk has lots of honky-tonk and food choices. I would take Princeton or Morristown over the Shore anytime, though Cape May is beautiful!
