Brunson my favorite current NBA player by far
How tf Brunson not allnba 1st team 🙄
Shai luka tatum giannis jokic. Not even a question
@@EverythingHoops7705He easily deserves it more than Tatum.
Luka and SGA exist.
@EverythingHoops7705 only argument for Tatum is being 1st seed with 64 wins with basically 4 Allstars next to him. Tatum been pampered all his career I swear lol smh.
@@OGteamm2246 Tatum oozes a sickening amount of entitlement. It's hard for me to watch him play.
Brunson should definitely get some MVP votes and consideration. I was hoping Team USA would have added him to the Olympic team as a reward.
Would have liked Brunson instead of Hali or Jrue
That "art" and "science" explanation was on-point! 👍🏾
And did the Greek freak really have a better year than Brunson??? If u watch Brunson play u will get it.. dude makes timely basket and timely clutch plays time after time… i mean i doubt his numbers are much better then brunsons but either way jalen is more VALUABLE
Brunson is the best point guard in the league and has done the most for his team all year
He hasn’t done more than Luka , SGA at all.
@@bns434 Brunson has done more with less
@@Gallo89SGA hasn’t the youngest team. He’s done more that Brunson by far
@@Gallo89being more valued to your team doesn’t make you the best. It just means you are most responsible for your teams success. SGA and Luka are better….and honestly Maxey and Sixers can easily come back from
NY up 2-0. Brunson is great, but not the best point guard in the league.
2nd best guard in the entire league behind Luka
As a Knicks fan I have Brunson 3rd behind SGA and Jokic. It's just too easy to take what Jokic does for granted but imo he was surpassed by SGA's season and where he's take the Thunder and how that team has responded to his leadership. Brunson's second half of this season was extraordinary and to put the Knicks in the position he did with all the injuries they had shouldn't be discounted. I just think what SGA has done this season should take the award.
Not sure if you forgot his former teammate, but there is no way Brunson is better than Luka. So at best he is 4th.
@@jensenat That's not what MVP is, if we're going by "best player", it'd be Embiid, Luka, Jokic for me but Embiid was hurt half the season. MVP is which individual had the biggest impact on the season and that should equate to team success. So no I didn't forget Luka, he's a more talented player than Brunson without question, but Bruson managed to land the Knicks in the second seed in a very competitive Eastern Conference while his team was depleted by injury. The entire starting front court for the Knicks, Mitchell, Randall, and OG have missed a huge chunk of the season. Luka's incredible play doesn't necessarily translate to his team's success though he has adjusted to playing with Irving and their trade deadline acquisitions in last month or so of the regular season. Still, Brunson has done more, has contributed more to his team's success and that success has been greater in NY than in Dallas -> thus Brunson is 3rd.
Knicks were decimated with injuries and Brunson carried them while SGA had a full squad.
@@dasninjastix I get everything you said. I still have Luka over Brunson, not only in talent, but in MVP as well. Luka and Brunson teams have identical records. The West is more competitive than the East. So I am not sure why you're considering the Knicks success > the Mavs success. What Brunson did this season is probably the greatest story in the league this year. We now have an extra and unexpected superstar in the league. He was amazing especially the last month. He should be 1st All NBA it is BS that most people have him as 2nd All-NBA, but in MVP I still think he is 4th.
@@jensenat I can’t give you that you can’t tell me he’s better than Brunson while playing next to kyrie
Greeny was preaching facts!!
Bruson is the best point guard in nba. Just look how far he brought knicks. Last 5 games of season he dropped 40 each game . He has to be MVP
If thats your argument, then it should be Luka,
Not as good as Luka but he’s top 5 arguably top 3
That’s hilarious. He still isn’t above Luka no matter how hard Knick fans scream.
Lol Luka, Shai, Curry?
@@abhinavaman08 last I checked Luka has kyrie an all star . Brunson doesnt have any all star on knicks snd he was able to get knicks to 2nd seed . Brunson is the better of the two.
I've been hearing this argument around the MVP for as long as I can remember and I'm old. Unless someone comes along and clarifies the criteria that people are supposed to vote by, there will always be people that vote based on value to their team, and others will vote on who is the best (some will use a combination of). That's fine.
Brunson should be in the MVP vote because he has done more with wayyyyyyy less💯
Thank you Greeny
Big body Brunson is the MVP. He’s just not the flashiest name . it doesn’t fit the media’s narrative, but the Knicks being a good competitive well coach team is not in the narrative something that the media doesn’t wanna admit, everyone get uses to this the greatest city in the world has a great Basketball Team - New York Knicks
They need to give Knicks management their flowers. Let’s go Knicks!!!
jalen williams 8# OKC I know i'm the only one that thinks this but He got next He reminds me of a young Kawhi And thanks Greeny For defending Burnson knicks in 5 💪🏽💪🏽
Bro is very nice .
Who’s this kid talking to Greeny??? The arrogance!! doesn’t even look like he watch sports lol
He’s part of the ESPN staff and works on Greenys radio show. But yeah arrrogant AF
HE IS 4th @ MOST!
JOKIC
LUKA
SGA
BRUNSON
GIANNIS
TATUM
I like your list minus Tatum
@@Blue-yy1roagreed
He is 6th... so he wouldnt make the ballot since its top 5. I think he deserves to be mentioned since the Cs are by far the best team in the NBA during the regular season.@@Blue-yy1ro
He's definitely really valuable to Knicks. But there have been games, where other players like Divo or Hart or McBride step up. OG's defense was another reason why we got to the second seed. 20-4 with OG in the line-up.
All NBA 1st team is based on one player per position. It’s positional
Based on that Brunson belongs on all NBA second team. Shai was more valuable to his team and lead his team further while also giving up great stats.
That alone makes Brunson all NBA 2nd team
But doesn’t stop him from being put in the top 5 in MVP votes. Because MVP voting isn’t based on position.
It’s really not that hard to comprehend if you explain it correctly.
“Outstanding” means individual production regardless of winning. “valuable” means team success driven by your production. You can have a 75pt triple double and lose. By losing, your “value” to the team is negated, but you were “outstanding”
Scoring title has it's own reward. There's a trophy for it and everything.
Your seed in the playoffs and home court advantage is your reward for your record.
These things usually get in the way of finding the true MVP. Let's just say the top two candidates have the same record and average the same amount of points. Then how would you choose? The solution is to ask this question.
(Where would that team be without him?). This season, that answer would make Brunson the clear front runner for MVP. It's as simple as that. Not too mention that he makes his players better. That's also MVP traits. Turning guys nobody knows into household names is what Brunson is doing. Taytum has Brown
Joker has a starting 5 of perennial all-star level guys. SGA has Chet, the guy they said is better than Wemby and the future of the league.
Brunson has Josh Hart and Donte Divincenzo and they've elevated their games to award winning levels.
Brunson is The MVP
Completely agree with Greeny
Mike you have a point. The effect Jalen Brunson has can be measured. They can look at impact based on how other players produce as a result of playing with Brunson.
It’s simple, without Brunson the Knicks at best are a 9-10 seed in the East. Brunson is the MAIN reason why they are the second best team in the East. He literally carried the team when they were hit with injuries.
Brunson is the best PG in the WHOLE nba and just one of the best players in general.. 1 is numbers are ELITE but more importantly jalen Brunson is the definition of MVP … i mean change the award if its not most valuable.. jalen Brunson is also doing it in the biggest media market… the most pressure and just one of the biggest teams… some of the others on this list they aint even on teams or markets close to Brunson
Sga luka are way better than
Sometimes the most valuable player is the best player so I see what he’s saying
It’s a farse & a popularity contest where the bobble heads get to gush over their favorite stars. JB carries a team to 2nd place that without him would probably not make the playoffs at all. If it were any other star he’d be considered 1st team all NBA.
Blud.. they're the 2nd seed IN THE EAST. I just want you to realize that.. they literally ended with the same record as the mavs(Despite them benching luka for the final two games so they could loose) If the mavs played In the east they'd literally win 60 games.
Brunson Is not even on the same realm as Luka.
The fact that some analysis call tre young a superstar is all I need to know. Just because these are professional doesn't mean they know what there talking about.
by this logic lonzo ball is the most valuable player in the nba as his team plummeted in rank after his injury
😂
Brunson had a great year. Best player on the 2nd best team in the East. But Tatum is best player on best team so he should get the votes but he won’t coz he does not deserve to be mvp in eyes of voters which is fine and acceptable but why then would Brunson be more qualified to be mvp?
Like Luka didnt have injuries to his team. Literally the 3rd most injured team and ahead of NY. 6 of his guys missed 20+ games and some even 30+. Yall literally leave out things on purpose to add to your argument. So just stop
Idk who the other guy is but his argument is crazy. The year Iverson won his mvp he only averaged 2 more ppg and 1 apg than shaq while shaq was more efficient, had 9 more rpg, and lead the league in win shares. But shaq had kobe and AI had no one else offensively so of course he was the more valuable player to his team. Same idea now. Brunson got the knicks to the #2 seed. Take him away they're hoping to move up in the lottery.
Only players and coaches should get a vote smh
Sorry but Dawson was valuable to the league because it brought out the best pitching from competitive teams and kept his team (the cubs) a good ticket both at home and on the road.
It’s best player to watch compared to a player that if a team loses them that their chances to win are lowered
You can't take out context when you look at numbers. Context matters. You cannot cut corners in sports by solely relying on numbers.
Annunoby really should be mvp he got the team winning and playing D
Great use if the term “Nerd”
Brunson at minimum should be in the top 5.
By the public? It’s the voters who count. If he gets a few votes then he’s being considered lol do we have to tallies on hand?
NUMBERS CAN NOT CALCULATE CONTEXT.
Huge Knicks fan, but if Luka and SGA are guards, of course Brunson does not make first team all NBA. MVP consideration is cool, but if Brunson actually wins the MVP, the award doesn't mean anything. Jokic, SGA, and even Luka deserve the MVP more than Brunson. You could even make a case for Tatum based on past awards. The fact that Brunson isn't on Team USA is crazy to me, though.
All NBA teams are positionless now so 5 guards can technically make 1st team
No one is arguing he should get it people are arguing over the lack of consideration.
@@chaoticstylez I understand. However: 1. He'll probably be top 3-4 in voting. 2. He has no chance to win it.
@@sebastiang.3730 Then Jokic, Tatum, Luka, SGA, and Brunson will be All NBA first team..
Brunson could avg 40 points a game, and he still wouldn't get the mvp. Because to a lot of ppl he doesn't look like a mvp. Sad.
But dude average like 28-27 ,luka blows him out in every statistic so does jokic but hey luka average 34/9/9 and will still not get mvp wining 50 games with 2 most injured team.
For all the people saying luka wiithout brunson he hasn’t made it to the 2nd round
ESPN is going down the drain. Having this ignorant kid arguing with Greeny about the definition of MVP while the fired great minds like Max Kellerman and Will Cane.
Preach Greeny
Jalen Brunson is the MVP no discussion needed. The Knicks are trash and they don’t have any players close to being all stars.
OKC got Williams #8 I call him chocolate Melo.
Greeny you’re a nerd as well. Come on guy. Despite that I agree with him on this MVP thing
People just don't want to admit that the MVP is actually the Best Offensive Player in the league award.
If that were the case Luka would be running away with it easily
@@galiojusticejustice3191 OK, so just for you, let me also add that they consider team success as well as best offense
Did Greeny just cooked dude?!
This nerd😂😂😂 these millennials redefining the award
1. Jokic
2. SGA
3. Luka
4. Brunson
If you care about voter fatigue
1. SGA
2. Jokic
3. Luka
4. Brunson
No voter fatigue would be luka sga jokic
It's all about the eye test!
3:10 can someone let my man on the bottom right know that it's 2024?
😆
Wait is dude wearing a mask?! 😂😂😂
Guy on right is clueless.
Brunson MVP…period, stop hating
It's a "Most Valuable" award, not a "Most Valuable to His Team" award
How is that literally not the same thing? Wouldn’t being most valuable make you the most valuable to your team?
Most valuable to what then? Did you really think this through before commenting?
@@dsmity8 Obviously an MVP would be the most valuable in his own team. What I'm saying is "Most Valuable" should be compared between each of the players in contention, not how valuable one player is to his team compared to another player to his team.
@@jensenat read my reply to the other guy if you're curious
Greeny u lost all nba credibility with ur bs lakers play in take
Nobody gives af about the lakers anyway
ANYTHONY EDWARDS IS THE REAL MVP 💯
Ain't no one thinking Brunson's the MVP except delusional New York dudes. Stop it.
You don’t know ball clearly so what you say is meaningless
@@cleanfresh6718 His take is understandable, he, like most clueless NBA fans, hasn't watch the Knicks play this year. All they think is "Knicks LOL". They have no idea who Brunson is. It is hard for them to believe/accept that a player no one expected or predicted to be this good has done what Brunson has done this year. To make matters worse, a player in a Knicks uniform all of the sudden is in the conversations for a top 5 best player in the league and their heads are exploding.
