    FYI - In September 2024 this $25 DIY is now $38. Still better than the Harley / Amazon options IMO

      One question. Did you remember how long the eye lag bolts are you used ?

  • @stevenlasalle8313

    I did go up a size on the all thread and I used duct tape so I didn’t scratch anything instead of the vinyl tubing otherwise pretty much the same thanks for the idea keep the videos coming my friend God bless

    Hey bud loved the idea, but you need to update this with your correct sizes so you can save someone else like myself from purchasing stuff that doesn’t work.
    I’m not positive on your lag eyes but 3/8-8” were massive, I ended up using 5/16”x6” and only to find out the tour pack bends the 3/8” all thread, upon closer look in your video your all thread is 1/2”, denoted by the blue paint on the end not yellow, also tubing is 5/8” OD 1/2” ID as also can be seen in your video. Please update to save someone else or I hope they see this comment before purchasing

      Oh yeah!! Super easy and I guarantee it will take you longer to go to the hardware and back than it will be to mount it all up. Deuces ✌️

    Thanks for the video and idea! You always do good quality clean work. When I noticed your tour pack hanging I had to see how you did it. I’ve been wanting to hand mine for a year now. I’ve started on it but doing it slightly different. I’ll have to send you some pictures when I’m finished. Thanks again!

    I like the design but when i went to grab the parts from what you had listed the threaded rods and nuts would pass right through the Eyebolts. You should that link is correct? maybe I found the wrong one at the store

      @PaulOnTheRun  2 роки тому

      I’ll check the links. But definitely shouldn’t have gone thru. Deuces ✌🏼

      You probably already figured it out, but try using some flat washers on either side of the threaded rods. They make a "fender washer" that's larger diameter than a standard flat washer.

    • @jasonking3391

      @@im2yys4u81 I actually got a bigger threaded rod and wasters. IDK if the part numbers that are listed and my store are the same but going to a thicker threaded rod made it stronger and worked well.

      @@jasonking3391 What I did to mine is buy a 6' piece of slotted angle and 2- 3' sticks of 1/2 all thread. I cut the 6' stick in half, and anchored the slotted angle to the wall studs with lag bolts, then ran the all thread through the drilled angle. I used a washer and nut on either side of the angle to make it nice and tight. The holes in the slotted angle were only drilled out to 3/8, but a reamer took care of that in a big hurry. I ended up with a sturdy setup that holds both my king size tour-pak, and a backrest. To protect the nylon bushings on the docks, I wrapped the all thread with electrical tape, but only where the mounting brackets sit. My biggest expense was the $28.00 slotted angle. Best I can tell I've got about $40.00 in it, but the cost of material has risen dramatically since this video was first posted. Shiny side up!
