So excited for the next video on this! I wanna read the book with your annotations in it lol. I always feel like I am on the exact same page when you talk about books. Now you have me excited to try annotating (even though it looks like a lot of work 😅)
Oh yay!! That makes me so happy to hear. I’m never sure anyone is tracking with my book dissections, so I appreciate this 😭 Annotating is becoming something I absolutely love, even with causal reading. It saves my thoughts on the page. I think there are different levels of intensity you can try lol
That's a lot of notes! How long does it normally take you to annotate books like this? Also, I love the breakdown and the visuals of the tabs. Really great analysis!
Well, this is a really long book, so it definitely took some time. I did most of it in a week and it consumed most of my leisure time. I’m not sure it took me too much longer to annotate than to just read it. I liked that every time I had a thought about the craft, I could put a tab and move on. It was like my thoughts were saved on the page. I enjoy that aspect of annotating, as well as the visual organization like you pointed out. Thanks for watching!!
No you are not! I actually never posted it because I had so much to say it became disorganized. And then the second book came out which did have a midpoint and I thought about refilming the video to contrast the two different structures. And here we are with no second video 😆 I appreciate your comment though! Perhaps it will give me the motivation to get the video together. I do have a lot to say about midpoints
Yes!! tbh, I've forgotten what I said in this video to spark this comment. But my current understanding is that the venin are objectively antagonists and certainly a danger to society (what with corrupted magic and all). But you're 100% right that a much more personal evil and antagonism can be found in the government's suppression of information and re-writing of history. I love this twist too. It adds so much conflict on top of the obvious issue with the venin. It almost turns it from a war story to a dystopian.
Are there any spoilers in that video because I have never read this book yet. Nobody talked about it in the Middle East. I wish that nothing was unseemly.
Hi! Yes, there are lots of spoilers. I’m breaking down the entire book’s structure, so I talk about everything that happens. I’m sorry about that! I’ve seen a bunch of other videos that are spoiler-free, so those would be a better place to hear more about the book if you haven’t read it

I read it now so here I am 😂 I can’t see your following video about the midpoint, am I being blind?

Saving this until I’ve read it 😂
What most people miss is that the antagonist is not the venin, but the Navarrian military establishment!

@@createwithmer - She draws heavily from dystopian fantasy tropes (and I don't mean this in a bad way)

Okay when I read this book I will see your video 🤝
