best comparison video I've seen so far everybody comparing it to the Traxxas rustler 4x4 but to me it's a stampede 4x4 2.0 and by the way that neighborhood is great Nice video Thanks for sharing.
Just give up a starbucks coffee (or equivalent indulgence) everyday for 3 months and it's yours! My wife was pissed that I bought a capra, but now I have the spreadsheet evidence that shows quitting bottled water has offset the cost of my kit. lOl
The closer you get to stalling an electric motor the more current it will draw. Gearing it up will force the motor into drawing more current which means more power. Despite losing mechanical gearing advantage the motor will make more torque and will actually become quicker... to a point. Problem is current = heat so more of it means you have more to deal with. Also, V=IR (voltage = current * resistance) so with everything remaining the same, increasing voltage means you increase the current. This is why the Maxx is so quick with this motor, because it is geared about 13mph faster and has 33% more voltage. Throw a mamba x or monster x esc on this guy and run 4s or more and this low kv motor will make a ton of power. It definitely needs a fan though.
Firestarter Of course but the Motor has plenty of torque and is 4s capable but not the esc. When I say hearing up I mean perhaps a tooth on the pinion no more than 2 depending on terrain. It seems unusual to run a 2400kv motor on 3s o done same for my rustler 4x4 it came with 13t pinion I went to 14t and my slash had 14t. I went to 15t I am skeptical of the suggested gearing for speed runs .
Mark C well, the gearing should be fine. The truck is much lighter than the maxx, so while you’ll see higher current draw gearing up, it’s probably similar to the much heavier maxx than only has a one cell voltage advantage. . You’re right though. Typically higher performance systems are setup around 40-50k rpm. On 3s at nominal voltage this motor is at 25k rpm. Trading voltage for current isn’t the typical move lol.
It's not cheaper to buy a maxx. Besides, if you buy one for your kid, you are doing it to have fun, not to make your kid jealous. I bought my kid a base stampede 4x4 and myself a hoss, two that are extremely similar but discernable between them. When the kid is ready, I will upgrade it to a vxl. But come Christmas day, we will be out bashing them around. I may even throw a vxl 6 6s in the hoss and see how that works out.

Just got into the hobby it’s great
Beautiful neighborhood
we call it the "stampler 4x4".
These like no difference
Why this over maxx or erevo for a little more though?
The manual recommends that the owner lives in this zipcode, to be able to afford it.😀
You are your limit...

@@KTMcaptain Exactly! I gave up buying lunch for work and saved myself a fortune
So just buy a stamped cause it’s also cheaper
But it doesn't come with the maxx motor... yeah, just get a maxx for a few big macs more... LOL.
Or an Arrma Granite
Might need gearing up

Put a go pro on one! lol
Stampede looks better hoss looks like a cartoon character lol
Why would people pick the hoss over a maxx which is 4s and cheaper?
Hoss retail $479 Maxx $549
@@sportszonetoyscomics1 In Australia max is cheaper
