Thanks for mentioning the new licence agreement: I've poured literally thousands of hours into making a Warhammer Fantasy mod for Warcraft III (google "Warhammer: Eternal Strife" if you're interested). Now my maps are subject to be auto-banned on a dime - even from single-player, since even they are now hosted online (!). While it's true that this may not be enforced, the prospect alone is utterly dismaying and demotivating. I was hoping for a renaissance of Warcraft 3 (both in general and for the sake of my mod ). I've gotten the exact opposite.
If you didn't know the one who made the models for WC Reforged are the same company who worked on StarCraft Remastered and the upcoming C&C Remastered, LemonSky Studios. I don't think it's fair to criticize them since Blizzard gave them a difficult time with the art direction rather than free reign like in SC Remastered.
It is kind of refreshing to see someone else have the same grievances with the current state of the RTS genre, and possibly the same worries. (Also super looking forward to Iron Harvest. Looks so good!)
Command and conquer rivals is in my view the best c&c game so far. Very good balance, it can handle the microtransaction crap without it breaking the balance, and the rocket pads make for some very exciting games.
I am a pure campaign player but I am upset because the environment and terrain don't look good enough, when compared to Aoe DE. It's not the outsourcing that is at fault it's that the studio was not given adequate time to give terrain and environmental assets the same modern treatment that the character models and buildings recieved. It's too expensive for what it offers and what it offers is actually insulting, the lack of love by the Blizzard is more than apparrent. While the models look modern but the terrain looks like the original. And Blizzard is only working on the complaints of online players. There is no firm plan to update the visuals.
As much as I enjoy some Activision bashing I don't feel it's necessarily all on them. From what I can tell Blizzard pushed hard to make Reforged happen, even without having the budget the project called for. Activision wanted them to develop new games instead. The questionable quality of many of the assets has also been credited to the fact that most were not produced in-house by Blizzard but outsourced to cheaper studios internationally. The fact that this isn't talked about much is a serious issue, though. The assets aren't bad because the artists aren't talented, but because they were produced under pretty horrific circumstances. 12 to 14 hour work days, canceled weekends and vacations. No payed overtime. Mostly young artists, fired on a whim if they spoke up. Oh, and average hourly pay below 5$. Under those conditions I certainly wouldn't be able to make even just decent art.
Considering how they abandoned WC RTS after WoW I have no reason to believe that these bad decisions aren't just blizzard being trash. also I haven't been positive about the future of RTS since SC2's disappointing stumbling.
@@Nutellafuerst They can? popularity doesn't really mean jack shit to me though. otherwise Fornite would be the greatest game ever made, do you think Fortnite is the greatest game ever made? if not, why not? SC2 died in childbirth.
@@KaiserMattTygore927 well you can have your opinion about the games quality ofc, but wether a game is dead or alive is about having a playerbase, not quality.

I love that Diablo Immortal meme you showed. I've never seen it before, but it is absolutely spot on and hilarious.
If the StarCraft remaster 3 years ago could have rebindable hotkeys so should this bullshit :/

If you have a CD key you can always download an older version of the game. I play version 1.26.
Little did he know just how bad things were going to get in the next two years, and not just for Warcraft III. ☹

I am baffled too (not raged, but baffled). Starcraft remastered is very good.

The matchmaking in this game is a mess.
Most of the time I either win by a landslide, or a lose by a landslide.

SC2 is back. itll never die.
@@Nutellafuerst Considering its still about E-sports and not interesting gameplay, I highly disagree.
