These temperature swings don’t only happen around this time of the year. I visited the Engadine Valley (St Moritz, Scuol) in August some years ago. On the day we arrived, it was high 20’s (celsius) and overnight dropped to below freezing and we woke up to snow😮. Always pack some clothes for cold weather, even if you’re visiting here in the summer!

This is excellent. Just wonder if late May is a good time to visit Zermatt and grindelwald ? Will the trail like the five lakes trail be opened ?
And it seems that it is still quite rainy at the alps area. What kind of rain pattern is it like ? Shower for awhile then sunny again on when it rain it lasts ? Thanks
I think you can do then 5 lakes walk end of may, but this is still not full summer there! You can visit both places and i believe the visitor numbers are still okay 😊 if it‘s raining it‘s either or but in may the weather usually calms down and is more conistent and nicer! May I ask... why I hardly see Swiss hanging around on their balcony or lawn for those with huge house ? Ok I give that during winter people stay inside. But other seasons. Swiss wooden bungalows are so wonderfully big, but nobody seems around the house.
Good question, in very many cases these are holiday homes or people are at work or out.
I'm from South India and April is scorching sun terrible weather this year rains are delayed. It felt nice just seeing the switzerland snow 😅
