My number one tip to build up more self-confidence is to stop with the self-deprecating humour.
I've gone on a massive self-love journey (that sounds so gross lol) over this past year.
For me it started when I stopped making self-deprecating jokes. It's the go-to form of humour for our generation, and creates a mindset where you are automatically critical about yourself. I found when I stopped reblogging those sorts of jokes on tumblr, I slowly stopped making them irl. And then I began to have a much more positive base line of emotion - like my standard outlook was just a happier, more confident one.

Sammmeee. Self deprecating jokes can be a good coping mechanism but they really do hold you back when it comes to loving yourself.
And try to steer clear from youtubers, friends, or anyone else who uses self deprecating jokes. You could just ask for them to stop.
I think that one thing that really helped me with self confidence was to know my body and what looked good with it, like fits, colors, and all that stuff, because now I know that those baggy shirts make me look way better than those really tight ones

my #1 tip for loving yourself is to surround yourself with things that make you happy. obviously, this isn't a quick fix. loving yourself is a long adventure. i almost always buy a new outfit. it makes me feel more like myself and brings me into a new light. find new music, talk with friends, watch your favorite movie, whatever makes you happy. your happiness is important.

When I feel down I just have a little self care evening with myself,
here are some things I do on one of those evenings if you want to have one yourself:
-put away your phone, turn it off
-shower, take your make-up off
-put on a facemask or just wash your face
-put on some music you like (I like to put on a record because it calms me down and I don't have to use my phone for it)
-if you just want to shake everything off, dance! And don't care what you look like because nobody's watching anyways ;)
-paint your nails
-write in your diary
-paint/draw/play an instrument
-cry if that makes you feel better
-try on some clothes

So there is this thing I do when I'm sad or just hate my life.
First, whenever I feel great (like seeing a real fluffy cute cloud or witnessing the best dance performance/art etc), i tell myself, "This is why you wanna stay alive, promise yourself". then, when the sad stuff happens I just remind myself of the good times. My life isn't that particularly bad, so this may not work for everyone :D Take care, everybody!

something that helped me feel more comfortable in my skin was learning to enjoy being ugly. like that sounds weird but when i realized that there is nothing wrong with sitting at home in my favorite t shirt and eating cereal, that my *true* self was what made me the happiest, i felt so much more comfortable and confident being myself. sometimes u gotta just be ugly and enjoy it. for me its healing and re energizing. life is too serious to take too seriously
Today I spent almost $43 on makeup but I felt better because I had a bad day yesterday. Even if it's little and "stupid" it made me feel better.

I just started tearing up randomly towards the end and I didn't even realize how hard this hit me.
When I get upset and start saying/thinking mean things to myself I try to say, 'No! You wouldn't say this to anybody else, so don't say it to yourself!!" and then I try to say something nice to myself, and lately I've been trying to find something to appreciate about myself at least once a day and it helped, it might not work for everyone because people are different, but it helped me and I hope it helps you, even a little bit because any progress is still progress😊😊😊👍👍👍👌👌👌

i’m rewatching conan’s old videos cuz i’m sick in bed, his videos make me so happy🥺
one thing for me that really helped me feel confident about myself physically was expressing what i felt on the inside so that other people could see it. once you grow as an individual and learn to look at your positive qualities and acknowledge and improve on your weaker points, and say "hey i'm a pretty kickass human being" then you automatically begin to feel okay expressing those qualities on the outside. if you already love your innerself and you express that outwardly then you'll eventually learn to love your physical being as well.
also just looking in the mirror and picking out things that you really love rather than things you don't like is really helpful, and really taking advantage of when you feel like a bad bitch. if you feel like a bad bitch, take selfies! take mirror pics! take snaps! then look at them when you aren't feeling confident and you'll be like damn that's me.

I have never been someone with lots of selfconfidence tbh. I have issues mainly with the way I look. I don't usually tell people this things, cause I'm insecure about it, so I just don't talk about it. One day I was talking with a friend of mine who I've known for almost all my life, and I just told her how I felt. She got upset and said it was stupid, that it bothered her so much the people who don't love themselves, it has ridiculous, "just love yourself and shut up". We haven't touched the subject ever since. At the time it really hurted me. It did. But I understood it is okay to be insecure, and that there is going to be people who may not get it. But it is okay. It is a whole process to love yourself, but don't worry, you'll get there, baby steps. You are beautiful just the way you are.
