Admit it... we were all in our teenage year when we first heard this song. And one big deception back then was this missing video for this legendary song. A young teenage dream has been fullfill, thanks Metallica!
Such an epic and amazing track. The explosive opening, the slightly off kilter riff showing instability, the big crash and a moment of clarity in the middle, then the struggle to make it right and keep going, but the final verse shows it's an ongoing battle. Brilliant songwriting.
I feel like nobody’s talking about the message of this song. The song is most likely the perspective of a drug controlling someone who is addicted. Like talking about how more is what they need, how they twist their minds, how they are leading the addicted person to death, how they smash their dreams and make them stop playing out of passion, hell “take your breakfast on a mirror” could be a clear reference to drugs you snort. We see how the addicted person asks where there dreams went, how the drug lied to them, and how they get laughed at or humiliated which drug addicted people usually do. Only for the drug to once again take over and sing about how their killing them and how they rule their whole life
it starts with 3 steps: Get away from other addicts, love yourself like the only real thing and hold your decision to shine. Be patience, drink water and take a daily dose of sun bathing, running and exercise
I’m glad the few comments I found that where gatekeeping Metallica from Stranger Things fans are either deleted or buried. Gatekeeping does nothing for anyone.
The 5 sections of this song I. The Master 0:01 to 3:30 II. The Puppet 3:31 to 4:47 III. The Spell 4:48 to 5:37 IV. The Anger 5:38 to 6:37 V. The Chaos 6:38 to 8:35
The last year of my high school was when this album was released and when I discovered Metallica. "Master of Puppets", "And Justice for All", and "Ride the Lightning" are their best albums and the best rock music ever.
I think they are great for some of the newer fans to learn the lyrics of the old militia classics. We used to read them on the LP and tape inserts. More of this please! 👍👍👍
This song is about drugs, so here is what i think the music would be based on emotions and feelings. 0:00 - fresh dose 3:35 - lose effects of drug 3:53 - know its bad, but hard to resist 5:42 - new dose 8:26 - overdose

@@simplynegan i mean they're kinda right. Metal was largely underground for a long time, you'd be surprised too. But I'm glad kids are listening to this instead of hyper depresso crap like billie eilish or smth.
Finally! We need Metallica to do this with other songs because there’s too much variation in fans’ lyrics videos. An authoritative version will, in my opinion, better represent the material for those who do reaction videos.
Well it's something that internet kids won't know but if you want to read the actual lyrics you can just buy a physical copy of the album, there's lyrics in there.
@@StateOfMercury LOL. And yet, people who film and upload reaction videos and thereby spread Metallica’s music to a wider audience use lyrics videos. But you’re right; people should use just the website, which is why Metallica released a lyrics video on its UA-cam channel.
I was 12 when this album came out, but I got my first copy when I was 15. It wasn't payed on the radio. Back then, heavy metal was considered "of the Devil" and pretty much banned from listeners under 18, at least in my area. I had to put it on an unlabeled tape to play it in my Walkman at school so it wouldn't be confiscated. The fact that it was "forbidden fruit" made it even more badass.
I don't think we should judge if people are here from Stranger Things or if they grew up listening to metallica I think we should just be happy to listen to this amazing music and that people of all ages are experiencing real music
Me personally, I only judge people if they say the song is *FROM* Stranger Things. If they know it from the show, that's cool, but if they think it came from Stranger Things or say it did, that's where I and a lot of others get irritated.
I have to say I was skeptical of the remasters but damn. They really nailed it. Having the bass louder (and also tighter and EQed better) makes a world of difference.

Those records changed my life forever. The last record was good, but they'll never top the first 4. Especially Master of Puppets. What a classic that will live on far after I'm gone.
lucretia is better
Maiden bro….
I agree, I first heard them from my big sister in the eighties. I used to listen to it on an old cassette recorder.
agree
34 years is exactly the same as me 😂
August 22nd is my 30th birthday, Metallica will be playing in Canada and this is the very first time i get to see them... LiVE!!!
August 23rd and 25th is going to be the best weekend of my entire life I swear to god, I never had a lot of money coming up and to be able to go see a band I've loved since I was a child is quite possibly a once in a lifetime chance and I fuckin took it!! I am flying from London Ontario to Edmonton Alberta just for this!
Thank you Metallica for always being there for me through your lyrics!!
Depression, addiction, anxiety and even insomnia were my downfalls and listening to you guys ESPECIALLY Master of Puppets and Whiskey In The Jar have helped me through a lot just listening to my favorite songs of yours on repeat for hours on end and just screaming at the top of my lungs to get my anger and frustrations out is sometimes all I ever need.
So from the bottom of my icy cold heart THANk YOU JAMES, LARS, ClIFFE, KIRK AND ROB!
METALLICA FAMILY FOREVER!!!!!

Admit it... we were all in our teenage year when we first heard this song. And one big deception back then was this missing video for this legendary song. A young teenage dream has been fullfill, thanks Metallica!
I was a teenager 15 years ago and I still had this Album as my first. Best $10 spent (before Hot Topic stopped being cool).
Zombie land double tap
I'm a teenager now thanks mom and stranger things
I heard this in my moms car. I wasn’t really interested, then I heard it again, first song I’ve heard myself out of all rock and metal
I was 13 when I started listening, now I’m 14, fuck rap, with made up words like, mo, lo, vo, co.
Metallica always doing new things for the fans, Metallica is greatly appreciated, they are great
I discovered Metallica when i was 9 from a friend and this is the song he played on his phone. I'm 14 now and still love it...
This song speaks to me as a recovering addict and alcoholic with 31 months clean and sober because addiction is the master of puppets.

We need more Metallica songs made into lyric videos like this!! 😍😎🤘🤘🤘🤘
Especially the “One” song they have, it’s edited lyric video would be so awesome.

A song so long that there's an ad during the interlude

It's blasphemy to put an ad in this song and should be a crime. 🤘😂
I don't understand why there are ads in music videos
Every single time I hear James say “ FIX ME!” I get goosebumps because I know what’s coming next! Such an amazing track
Not a day goes by where I don't listen to Metallica. Best band in the history of music. 🤘😈🤘
Same here bro !!🤘🤘

Idk who asked but I'm telling you anyway

Only for the drug to once again take over and sing about how their killing them and how they rule their whole life
Yes this should really be our national anthem
Everybody knows this................
Yeah definitely after alcohol addiction among others this song made sense to me
This song is about crack cocaine lol
Yes I immediately think of heroin addicts, but probably any drug or alcohol.
Lyrics hit hard when you're struggling with an addiction 😢
God bless y’all
it starts with 3 steps: Get away from other addicts, love yourself like the only real thing and hold your decision to shine. Be patience, drink water and take a daily dose of sun bathing, running and exercise
Good luck to you, I believe in you ✊
You can push through, may God help you ❤
What addiction do you have
I’m glad the few comments I found that where gatekeeping Metallica from Stranger Things fans are either deleted or buried.

what a moment! this song will be forever legendary
This song is about drugs, so here is what i think the music would be based on emotions and feelings.
0:00 - fresh dose
3:35 - lose effects of drug
3:53 - know its bad, but hard to resist
5:42 - new dose
8:26 - overdose

It's about cocaine, once you are that deep that you smoke crack this song fits perfectly with that.
Metallica now has a whole new younger generation listening to them 36 years later ...stranger things knew exactly what they were doing and I'm giving them a thumbs up!!! Great job Metallica, they couldn't of used a greater song!! 💚

LOL.

It goes from metal to an almost melodic ballad. My favorite Metallica song.
Truly a masterpiece. I’m not even a metalhead.
Maximize your screen brightness and put your phone beside you in night, screen facing the ceiling... Loved it...
This works with the Enter Sandman video as well.. ok, we all know it's not their greatest song but the strobe light effect is sooo cool!! 😎😁🤘🤘

I just remembered this was the base for E1M1 I believe so I'm just here now rockin
Me personally, I only judge people if they say the song is *FROM* Stranger Things. If they know it from the show, that's cool, but if they think it came from Stranger Things or say it did, that's where I and a lot of others get irritated.
