A lot of these happen on holes with dumb, overly harsh rules. Random lines on the ground as OB, drop zones on 2nd or third shots. There is no reason why Calvin shouldn't be able to take his last put from the water on the last clip, etc. Honestly, that hole is kind of BS in general.
Wish we had coverage of Emerson Keith’s 14 at USDGC, it was nasty. Same situation as Paul (throwing over OB on the same hole), but I believe threw 5 or 6 short.
Pfft. I have scored 23 on a hole at a National Tour event. It took me nearly 30 minutes to play the hole. And I've watched a friend go 16-from-the-tee trying to make an island green.
Not going to lie, had to stop watching half way through. Like one of my buddies said: I want to beat you at your best, not because you beat yourself on the course.
Something like 13 of the 18 holes are embarrassing for a championship course. 999 isn't even the worst of it. Ridiculous that they still hold the USDGC there.
@@ddr4v7z I'll start by saying 17 is probably the least bad artificial OB on the course. Because I can clearly see it and because it's trying to simulate a real island. And yes, 17 is compelling. But artificial OB is far more than an aesthetic problem. OB in general denies the opportunity to scramble and save par. This is one of the most interesting aspects of golf in general (disc or ball) and OB just replaces that with a penalty. It's OK in small doses here and there on a good course, but USDGC is basically all OB, zero scramble. And there are multiple holes that use OB to create these bizarrely shaped fairways, where I have basically no idea whether a throw landed in until the commentary tells me. And then you have the stupid stakes around the tees and baskets, and the absurd triple mando hole. It's like a cheesy putt putt course at times. It's my least favorite course to watch of any course the pros play, and I'm quite confident it's the least favorite course to play for many of the pros. But as long as they offer the big bucks the pros will keep coming.
You also probably don’t play with a ridiculous amount of artificial OB lines. Some of these really pissed me off because a good throw should not be punished by an arbitrary line painted on the ground
@@williamhrivnak7345 yeah, and then drop zones for no reason when you go out of bounds on 2nd or 3rd shots, etc. Most of these holes are poorly designed
Luckily real golf players only use up to Triple bogey and after that they call it +4, +5, +6 etc.. because it serves no purpose to use more complicated words..
Finally, a video where I can point at professionals and say "I can do that!"
Yeah in my first tournament I averaged a double boogie over 18, lol. The weather was insane wind and rain, but still...
Yep!
I took the exact same score as Dickerson on that hole 18 at Fox Run. Not proud of it but it's cool
Simon's was the most unfortunate IMO... From an eagle putt to THAT. Paul was the most surprising, especially with the back to back airball putts.
That just makes me sick to my stomach every time I see it.
It's frustrating because he didn't have to get any type of bogey. Coulda laid up for par instead of running a death put for birdie
@@monkeybull445 he laid up for birdie, then had a deathput for par
Shout out to Ricky for crushing the rest of that round and still almost qualifying after that nasty 7
Should of also had Kevin Jones at Portland Open this year. Pretty much cost him the tournament.
KJ got shafted multiple times this year…hoping for better results next year for him.
started to watch this just to know if he is here. that was absolutely gut wrenching and make me genuinely sad for him :(
I was thinking of the same tourney.
I was there I was thinking the same thing
Anybody remember McRae losing the US Open on the 17th? I forget what that score was but he put at least 4 into the drink.
I love angry Dickerson clutching out the up and down from WAY out of position there.
Dickerson had the best 8 I’ve ever seen. A great upshot over the trees and then a step putt to finish it. That could have easily been a 12
I think the highest you can get is 10. After 10 shots you basically forfeit the hole. I might be wrong though
@@Arrica101 there’s a video of a guy taking a 40 on one hole. (On purpose) lol 😂
I love this, only because it makes feel better at my constant bogeys and double bogeys
I'd love to see a video of worst tee off shots on hole 1. Especially good if it's right after the tournament director announced them
Nikko's at DGPTC this year was hilarious, I got to see it in person
Cale Leiviska shanking it at the Preserve Championship almost hitting the audience was great!
@@hanks_the_name especially after asking the audience to hype him up😂
@@hanks_the_namethat was a ceremonial shot, he wasn’t on playing the tournament. Still hilarious though 😂
Kev is my favorite but he had a quad bogey at Portland to be out of contention. Probably should have used that

Those ones that hit metal and then roll ob are the worst. Such a gut wrenching feeling.
Wish we had coverage of Emerson Keith’s 14 at USDGC, it was nasty. Same situation as Paul (throwing over OB on the same hole), but I believe threw 5 or 6 short.
I'd love to know the year of these. Thanks for the content!
Relatable 😮
what a nice guy at the end reaching in for that disc
Oh yeah this content right here🤤
What about Climo’s +8 in round 2 of 2015 USDGC?
It's golf. You have bounce back when this happens.
Unfortunately, I CAN relate
Ricky went on an absolutte killer round after this. Im pretty sure if he had made par on that hole, he would have won.
I must be ready to go pro!!!!
this is me on every round. in the 🌳 OB hunting for my disc
Sula Open 2018 | Round 2 Front 9 - Simon gets a +9 on hole 4 :S
Thomas Gilbert at 4.00 😊
I'm so surprised to see Dickerson the robot on here. That dude is pretty much automatic every shot.
doss and shculz hat 10 on usdgc 2013 or something like that

The abject horror! Quadruple bogey? Call me when you sink it in 12, then we will talk
You forgot Nate Sextons 10@usdgc
That first hole sucks
Awful design. Just makes me sad for the game...and the players.
Something like 13 of the 18 holes are embarrassing for a championship course. 999 isn't even the worst of it. Ridiculous that they still hold the USDGC there.
@@ddr4v7z I disagree pretty strongly. Big swings caused by a bunch of artificial OB does not make for a good course in a competitive sense.

What sociopath enjoys this? I could barely get through the first hole.
Kind of like Kevin Na shooting a +16 on a par 4.. Texas Valero Open... look it up 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
We've all done it, or WILL do it at some point...
What’s the biggest bogey y’all have taken in a tourney? I’m proud to have pulled a sextuple bogey once. Goddamn island hole.
Yes….. I play like a pro
Ya hate to see it
When you get a 9 often enough that you just call it a handicapped snowman.
Assuming most of these have BS artificial OB that punish players for what would normally be a good shot

Sad to see, but shows they are human.
EVERY one of these happened because of OB

A 40 foot island drop zone is such trash design.
Hard to put my finger on it, but Avery is hard to listen to on commentary

Yes indeed

I just don't understand how Eagle is number 10....this tanking is ass backwards.
It's not a ranking. It's just a collection
