I am actually passing trought something similar. My wife doesn't want to diet or exercise, but I got 10Kg over my normal weight. But not going to leave her for it 😅. So I started to diet and exercise "hidden". Fasting on the mornings and doing cardio and functionals during my breaks. Its been working and I already lost 6 Kg and went down from 25% BF to 18% She knows shs needs it too but says she's getting the courage to start. My goal is to get down to 80 Kg and 12%. Then, start a work to built up muscle back up to 85Kg and keep it.

I never used to be an "abs guy" even when I was buff and fairly lean. Jeff's "abs in X minutes" (there is a few of those) follow along videos were like taking a red pill. I ended up with chiseled core and abs everyday for maybe 3 years. All it took was 4-7 minutes in the morning (I also ate fairly clean and did I.F)
@@evoo8214 - I.F stands for Intermittent Fasting - an eating module/time restricted eating. You eat all your food within 8hs and you don't eat anything for 16hs. Just water and black (unsweetened) coffee for 16hs. Then all the food you want for 8hs
I've been stressing out about my "4 pack" abs. After loosing 50 pounds since 2015, I finally decided that loose skin was keeping me from ever seeing my abs since my waist had balloned to 48" and in 2021 I had a tummy tuck and now two years later have continued to stay lean and my waist is at 30" (first thing in the morning). I can only achieve a 4 pack with weighted crunches and isometric cable holds for obliquies. They are very chiseled but I think my genetics are just suited for a 4 pack since by now all the swelling from surgery should have subsided. If I thought I had 20 pounds to loose, I'd go for it to get 6 pack abs but 30" is probably as lean as I need to be in the waist period. What's funny is when I dieted down to 163 pounds 3 years before the surgery, I could see a 6 pack right after training abs but the loose skin would quickly cover that up once the ab training pump had disappeared. My waist was no where near 30" so I'm still a little confused as to why I only have a 4 pack now. My wife say I look really good and to stop worrying about it!
Great video Jeff and Jessi, funny extras from Jessi love the humour. Thanks for the tips and helping us out. p.s - I'm about 10kg away from my goals, i've lost about 10kg already. It took a long time but we will get there. I've finally upped my protein amount after a long bout of bad eating and am now exercising a bit more instead of nerding away on the computer more. Good luck everyone else!
Love your channel, you’ve helped me a lot throughout the years with many issues. I was curious though, I’m a male with Diastasis Recti and I was wondering what ab exercises you would recommend for someone that has it
At first I thought I had a 4 back. It ended up being a 10 pack 😎👍💯 cause I didn’t diet and workout my abs properly, now I can confirm because I have 5 obliques on each side of my stomach visibly.
I never knew anyone could even get a 10 pack :) Wow, what a discipline and determination!! Swill ball is one of my favorite home exercise tool. My six pack is on its way, I can see it under my yellow padding :) I added 1 day of fasting a week, hopefully it will come through!
I didn't take a 10-pack to be a case of training or determination, but of genetic. Some people have extra tendons running across the abs, others don't. If you don't have those tendons, you will never get a 10-pack no matter how you train. Perhaps I misunderstood?
@@alaron5698 That's how I understood it too, I never knew!! I am 47, 5'4 and weigh about 140-145. I am trying to shed a few pounds so my six pack can show, I just don't have enough discipline with the diet.. I will keep trying :)
Step 1: Lower ur BF% to around 15% or lower for guys. Eat in a caloric deficit, crank your protein up (0.8-1g/lb) Step 2: Train ur core like any other muscle. Progressive overload overtime (Some ideas: Hanging leg/knee raises, cable crunches) Summed up all anyone needs to know. If you don't do Step 1, don't worry about Step 2. Keep it simple.
The type of calories you consume make a huge difference. If you're eating a bunch of carbs and/or sugar then you're going to feel hungry, irritable, and tired when trying to eat less. Replacing carbs with fat and protein is the best way to make your body use up its fat stores. Also fasting for at least 16 hours will trigger fat burning and increase insulin sensitivity.
You guys are awesome together. Seems like Jeff is a fatherly figure to Jesse. The relationship is so pure. Great guys. So great to see. God is good. God bless
I'm sure this comment will get lost in the sea of other comments but here goes. I'm 16, I workout regularly and have noticed from a while ago that my abs aren't like everyone else's. I've always had them but I never counted, I just knew they existed and that mattered. Once I started my gym journey 4-6 months ago I realized I have a 4 pack. No matter how hard I tried to feel out where my missing two packs could POSSIBLY be I was met with no luck. Although I cant change the way I was born I am questioning when in the video you mentioned that EVERYONE has a 6 pack or more, and that people with '4 packs' have a developed chest. Now I don't know how to understand that, or take that I have been looking at my abdominals and looking just below the chest, only seeing my 4 pack... Again i get i probably wont get an answer from you but im hoping someone reading the comments might.
Hey Jeff,So according to what you said about "4 packs",If they are mostly an under developed chest striations,Then how did people like Arnold have a clear "4-pack".
Wondering the exact sane thing. No matter how lean I get, still only 4 pack which is always clearly defined. However all my mates who hold more fat have an outline of a six pack. Surely some people just don’t have them!?

I put a lot of Jeff's exercises into my training routine, and every day at the gym people look at me like an alien, I don't know should I be impressed or embarrassed 😂
I had a similar experience once and I felt really awkward but then I saw other people start to copy me so I wouldn't worry about it
Sometimes when I am in the gym staring at someone who is doing something different, it’s because I want to try it and I am trying to memorize the form
They won't be giving you strange looks when you've got muscles that they don't have.
I have a single big rounded pack 😢

Love Jeff. Explains everything so well.
Thanks again for all your help you’ve been an inspiration
Legend has it that just by watching Cavaliers ab videos you are actually making ab gains.
Awesome video guys! You'ld be surprise of how many people is just learning this. Thanks for doing such a great job at educating all of us. Your time and dedication is greatly appreciated!
I am actually passing trought something similar. My wife doesn't want to diet or exercise, but I got 10Kg over my normal weight. But not going to leave her for it 😅. So I started to diet and exercise "hidden". Fasting on the mornings and doing cardio and functionals during my breaks. Its been working and I already lost 6 Kg and went down from 25% BF to 18%
She knows shs needs it too but says she's getting the courage to start.
My goal is to get down to 80 Kg and 12%.
Then, start a work to built up muscle back up to 85Kg and keep it.
Can't thank you guys enough for all the hard work you put in to deliver FREE science backed facts and top tier knowledge to your community!

Jonny, firstly, I love your channel, second, I love Idol Chat, and lastly, this was my favourite ever. Thank you.
I have had this saved in my ‘watch later’ list for some time, and only now got the chance to watch it, it was worth the wait.
Mike is a lovely guy, I have loved all his shows and I hope he keeps going for years to come…..The world would be a better place with more Mike Brewers in it. Thanks Mike, for years of fascinating entertainment, please keep going.
Jonny, a great interview as always, love the channel, keep doing what you are doing 🤝
Can u make a 22 day video like the calendar u showed in this video? For the ab exercises u just discussed. Thank u so much!!!!!
I love this Channel! Definitely the Best!
👉 6:06 - example of weekly abs schedule (change the type of the training - 1-2-3):
MON - weighted abs
TUE - basic abs
WED - metabolic abs
THU - weighted abs
FRI - basic
SAT - metabolic
SUN - basic
any example exercise for each category? one exercise 4 set is that enough for everyday ab train? or minimum 2 abs exercises everyday?
Jeff is the truth. Love the breakdown on abs.
I've been stuck on a four-pack. But the eccentric overload exercise is something I haven't been doing. Looking forward to trying that!
Same here
maybe you have underdeveloped pecs like he said in the video?
how does that hide ur abs@@jordyvandeven3954
Thank you, man! Another excellent video!
Jeff, please make a full upper body workout that can be used in an Upper/Lower split, or for people who have full upper days in our workout splits!
6:45 LMFAOOOOO!!
That reminded me of Curly from the Three Stooges “I suffer from TB. Two bellies”
I AM VERY HAPPY TO HAVE FOUND THIS CHANNEL. HE SHOWED ME THAT I CAN TRAIN ABS EVERY DAY. FINALLY I WILL HAVE A MUSCLE TO ROLL UP EVERY DAY
I really like this 8 pack video; I'm talking 8 minutes. Beyond 8 minutes I don't have the time
Athlean is awesome, not only awsome but his channel is best on UA-cam! Thanks bud keep them vids coming
Lose fat until you see your abs. Next question...
Saving this video for when my Doc gives me the OK to workout my abs again after my hernia.
I never used to be an "abs guy" even when I was buff and fairly lean.
Jeff's "abs in X minutes" (there is a few of those) follow along videos were like taking a red pill.
I ended up with chiseled core and abs everyday for maybe 3 years. All it took was 4-7 minutes in the morning
(I also ate fairly clean and did I.F)
Hi. I am new to this stuff. May I ask what does I.F stand for?
@@evoo8214 intermittent fasting
@@bruhmoment1835 thanks a bunch
@@evoo8214 - I.F stands for Intermittent Fasting - an eating module/time restricted eating.
You eat all your food within 8hs and you don't eat anything for 16hs. Just water and black (unsweetened) coffee for 16hs. Then all the food you want for 8hs
Very informative, I actually now understand better about ab
Sounds like you have a good wife….
Arnold has 4 packs too
@@nag0074 Right, but I assure you I don't look like him!!! I'm proud of the progress I've made though.

As someone who is 5 kgs away, I wish you luck buddy!
The last couple are the hardest but we are going to get there!
@@somemadsci1923 Cheers man, I slipped up tonight but we get back on track tomorrow haha. Go get em tiger lol.
Guys, the ab workout random generator alone is worth getting one of his programs!
Love your channel, you’ve helped me a lot throughout the years with many issues. I was curious though, I’m a male with Diastasis Recti and I was wondering what ab exercises you would recommend for someone that has it
Don't flex your spine if you have that, search Diastasis Recti exercises
Thanks Jeff! Been watching you for years now
🤣 He got me at Tupac. Great content and great advice though.
That analogy of a Mason laying grout was great! Gonna use that later. Thanks Jeff!
At first I thought I had a 4 back. It ended up being a 10 pack 😎👍💯 cause I didn’t diet and workout my abs properly, now I can confirm because I have 5 obliques on each side of my stomach visibly.
Great presentation. Just purchased the app
Great video, full of great techniques and advice, as always! Keep up the good work, men!!!
Step 1: Lower ur BF% to around 15% or lower for guys. Eat in a caloric deficit, crank your protein up (0.8-1g/lb)
Step 2: Train ur core like any other muscle. Progressive overload overtime (Some ideas: Hanging leg/knee raises, cable crunches)
Summed up all anyone needs to know.
This is the science teacher I have been always wanted.
"Eating like you have two assholes" - Both informative and hilarious another great video Jeff.
I love how the closed captioning writes out what is bleeped in the audio
You guys are awesome together. Seems like Jeff is a fatherly figure to Jesse. The relationship is so pure. Great guys. So great to see. God is good. God bless
Awesome gems in this vid. Thanks Jeff.

Surely some people just don’t have them!?
you ever figure it out@@livinlife8860

Arnold Schwarzenegger definetly had a 4 pack
The grout example cracked me up for some reason! 🤣
I don't know why but my gains are now gone. I had a bad cough 2 months ago. Being sick makes you thin.
