    The instant he specified :"Friendship is Magic" at 0:26.
    My already vast amount of respect for DeLancie increased tenfold.
    He seriously cares. He gets it. He intends to spread the word.
    This docmentary is going to change mainstream people's gender stereotypes forever.
    Assuming we get this to play on popular TV channels.

    Good question. I think the first part will be clear if they explain Faust's involvement with G4 and the events that lead up to the show going viral. Also, if the sample of bronies they talk to is large enough they might find some people who are also fans of G1, like Jimmy and Edd of AcousticBrony or CR of TGWTG. The latter actually made a very well-researched retrospective of the whole franchise that both explains what makes G4 so special and how much it owes to the previous generations.

    I really appreciate John's ability to dance around politics and still answer the man's question. More actors and celebrities need to learn from this man.

    I believe that your assessment of early Star Trek fans is slightly inadequate. The stigmatization of trekkies occurred mainly after the cancellation of the show, when fans were derided for watching the same 79 episodes over and over through syndication. While it aired, and while fans could be viewed as "early", it was considered a high-brow and intelligent show with viewers such as governor Nelson Rockefeller, sci-fi author Isaac Asimov and many educated people.

    It's because generation four of My Little Pony known by it's full title of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is the cause of the Brony fandom. There were fans of My Little Pony before this culture began and I believe they are two separate entities.

    MLP refers to the entire franchise that started in 1983. There have been 4 generations of the TV show with very different animation styles, characters and storylines. MLP: FiM refers to the current, 4th generation that started in 2010. This is the generation that started the brony fandom, and the vast majority of the fandom seems to have a neutral-to-negative attitude to the previous ones. This is why many bronies insist on separating FiM from the rest of the franchise, and John is aware of this

    Hey scifi, I have a question for you. What do YOU think of our fandom? :)

    • @SciFi4MeTV
      @SciFi4MeTV  4 роки тому +1

      Oddly enough, just seeing this question. Every fandom has its pros and cons. As long as everyone behaves, respects each other, and doesn't do anything illegal, immoral, or unethical, there's no reason to condemn Bronies or any other fans of any franchise. Let fans be fans.

    Wow, John DeLancie.. what a down to earth guy. To be honest, the only reason I decided to watch MLP was because I heard that Q was a character in the series. Its fantastic.. Also, I'd like to see Patrick Stewart do a voice, or have the first and second seasons translated into Klingon.
