    I kinda prefer the blob idea with the wyrdness, you can make significant changes to the world's appearance without having to change the entire map or interrupting active quests.
    Perhaps attach the fog to a certain boss-like enemy, or object that could net a player an unidentified powerful/rare item.
    The blob kinda adds more mystique, when I first saw the blob in-game I was actually too afraid to go in. I didn't know if it would transport me somwhere else, would there be enemies inside there, but the prospects of rare loot had me itching to go in.
    You can still make the nights more deadly by having enemies "come out" of the fog/blob and spreading during the night to hunt down the player.
    Maybe even mixing and matching all the ideas, not to feature creep, but having each night/blob do something different and unpredictable.

      yeah this the first time i saw the blob was near the northern edge of the map where all those creepy child-like statues are. I was fighting the bandits when the wyrdness spawned near me and i fucking shit myself because creepy music started playing, the child-like eyes started to light up and the mist/blob started to come toward me. then an ogre spawned (?) and I was like OH SHIT and I felt afraid to venture inside there. I think having the blob is still a good idea, maybe to demonstrate severe wyrd corruption or anomalies or specific boss battles/zones. one of my favourite memories is due to that wyrd blob

    I love the current wyrdness blobs you can walk in and out of. They look insanely impressive from the outside and really freaked me out the first few times I walked in.
    Would be a shame if the blobs are removed. Also, very dark nights are not a good idea imo, unless it's some opt-in challenge mode. It adds accessibility issues for people with strained eyes and is a lot less fun usually than it sounds on paper. I hope you can find a way to keep the old idea alive and expand upon it. Blobs of chaos that you can go into are also a whole lot more innovative than "enemies become tougher at night". Lastly, maybe a personal thing, but I do not like getting pushed into challenges by a rhythmic timer. Having it available in a local cluster that I can choose to interact with whenever I want makes me feel more connected to the game.
    And there's still ton of potential. The blobs could multiply or grow. They could give better rewards inside or special crafting materials.
    And one way to consolidate both would be, if you ignore the blobs for too long, you enter the "new" type of wyrdness where it just covers everything at dusk, because it leaks out. But destroying some of the blobs can prevent this from happening, for people who don't enjoy the extra dark nights. To add even more insanity, you could make it so that you can enter a blob WHILE in the new wyrdness, which then creates a super mega wyrdness / darkness that is one of the deadliest places to be in.

      i had a great experience my first time with the wyrdness blobs, where i was trying to approach a difficult camp of disgraced knights and the wyrdness blob slowly overtook their camp and me. i was still an underpowered mage at the time and the ogre in the blob ended up being helpful.
      however, all of my other experiences had monsters spawning in rocks, lakes where I couldn't reach them. i hope they don't go away either, but can be improved somehow.

      Pitch black nights in games are awful. I get that some games are different and that kind of realism and challenge is point, so I am not knocking people who love it for their own reasons. I feel like it adds nothing to Fall of Avalon though. Let the moon be bright, or have very luminous torches and lanterns.

    I really hope that the next update, will include the option to attack with the right arm, using right mouse button, and left arm with the left mouse button.

    Loving this game so far. I've got 20hrs into it, but I'm desperate for some more content at this point. Hopefully we'll be able to continue the main story a bit after this content update.

    I don't know why, but I love the idea of more interactions with "certain NPC." It does feel a little odd right now that it's "always with us, but not really."
    The interactions and relationship development could make the game feel a lot less lonely. Good work guys!

    First off, I like the idea of the game becoming harder at night, and I second an idea mentioned in a comment, of bosses appearing during the hour before the dawn (the "darkest hour" so to speak).
    Secondly, I don't think this idea works well as the implementation of Wyrdness: the presence of wyrdness clouds is extensively mentioned in the lore and the blobs were awe-inspiring. So I would suggest that the blobs become a little toned down in their effects, but much larger in size. Two blobs can cover 1/6th of the map, or 3 that can cover 1/8th of the map or 4 that can cover 1/10th of the map, with each blob moving independently will achieve everything you set out to do: thematic implementation of Wyrdness, the necessity of wyrdness-repelling campfires and an overlap with the day-night mechanics. Moreover, you could have different pland/ground textures for the places where the wyrdness blobs are, but I don't know how feasible this is in terms of programming.

    Love this idea, I think this should definitely be implemented. Something that could be fun to add in the future would be visual camp upgrades like a tent and what not that provide bonuses, as in maybe like a stamina boost after you wake up if you have a level 2 camp. Also, it would be cool if you were in third person when sitting at the camp to see your character visually develop as you find better armor, weapons, etc.

    Just got the game and enjoy the content, especially the atmospheric ambience - more variety of creepy sounds would make this even better. Graphics could be more polished, but overall, it's a very good game for early access. Keep up the progress. I am looking forward to the player housing 👌🏻

    I have mixed feelings on this change. Transient blobs seem more of a thing that you can go in and check out or avoid, potentially could be better to explore at higher levels for rewards, and friendlier to exploration and gear/level mechanics in my opinion. I actually find the transient blob wyrdness refreshing, different, and it made me very curious and want to know more about it. A wyrdness day night cycle seems kind of tropeish and boring to me, personally.
    Wyrdness just being a day night thing, it doesn't seem congruent with the dialogue/lore already in the game. It raises questions and not in a good way about lore like why/how people survive it especially at settlements and why things are only temporally corrupted but for some reason are completely normal when the sun rises.
    Those things aside, I also think wyrdness being a day/night cycle could also easily screw up game balance. I already see substantial gaps between some different mobs in the game and it feels unbalance at times. I doubt going the day/night cycle route is going to help that.

    I don’t know if it’s the resolution or lack of HDR on UA-cam, but wow the night gameplay is dark. I hope there’s options to adjust that, because monitors vary so much in their ability to display detail in dark scenes.

    Perhaps the hub areas could be protected by some druidic or knightly or merlin type tokens. I like the wyrdness spread, it sounds like a lot of fun! I think it would be fun to have towns or villages that can't be saved from the wyrd or if they are, that some additional reward, i.e. a power (or slight power increase) from FD or an Arthurian artifact or increased reputation (maybe an area that has rep against you, but because you saved this town, you have good rep only there?) Keep up the great work!

    I like the idea of walking into something to start the harder wyrdness content, weather it be a fog or a wall like the blob we currently have. Looking forward to actually testing out the new wyrdness though. Would be cool to watch NPC's transform into something new, maybe even merge together if they are within a certain distance to each other. Also, great job improving your speech since the last video. Was great to listen to.

    Few ideas: I do wish you will keep the lore in mind about Menhirs keeping the wyrdness away, even during night. I also would like to see the enemies not automatically transform, but have a ticking chance perhaps. Also wyrd-crazed enemies should attack other non-wyrd-crazed npc/monsters imo.

    I like the idea. maybe you could borrow some small insperation from the s.t.a.l.k.e.r games zones, but a fantasy version of their strange zone behaviors, mayby only avalible att night with high wyrdnes. could even intensify the risk and reward gameplay.

    My concern is around people feeling "forced" to wait for the night / wyrdness in order to explore. It seems like you're going to miss out on a lot of loot if you clear out camps etc. without the enemies being buffed.
    Other than that, it looks great! Very much looking forward to it.

    Loving this, I support the idea of the Wyrdness at night time. Looking forward to the next patch. You guys are creating a really amazing game. Chilling and levelling at the campfire and having a talk with the FD will also be an awesome addition. I wonder what we can smoke lol! Devils Lettuce perhaps? :).

    I was looking forward to getting some kind of cool skill when exposed to the wyrdness. It would be nice if there were powers you could get that were related to that but at a cost. Kind of like being a vampire in Skyrim, there are huge benefits but there are downsides too.

    I'm liking everything about this. Only concern would be regarding early game difficulty when the wyrdness takes over at night, but if the difficulty scaling works out, I can't wait

    It will be cool if the effect gets stronger the further in the night you are. It would be a good way to limit test a character while making it optional. Maybe before dawn some bosses could show up.

      Please allow fists to use weapon oils. So unarmed combat can be more enjoyable.

    The game is awesome but I don’t like the idea of the wyrdness creeping up at night. I’d prefer if it was a mist (similar color to the blobs but more transparent, theme similar to the realm of hermaeus mora (not a direct copy but the theme gives me ideas for this game). Because it would be kinda cool to see the wyrdness slowly creeping up on the horns as the main quest continues or something like that. Or at least just having an area that’s covered in the wyrdness. The main reason I say this is because the idea the wyrdness kills and corrupts and the only protection you have is the soul fragment of the fire dweller breaks the idea that people remain human by the end of the night. I’d expect to fight deformed mutants or something in the morning based on how the wyrdness works in the lore.

    loving the game can't wait to see more, got the game pre release and jump back to it alot waiting for the second part, first part got me sooo hyped up, i would like to see buffs for like armor or like stats armor and weapons, would like to have a big area for forest combat maybe deep forest give that real sense of fear in the weirdness, would also like to see more crafting, maybe like more blueprints for weapon making or such, but so far i am loving this game alot and i would like to personally say thank you!!!

    I hope you approach the Wyrdness the same way you did with the first game. Heck, in the first game you Traverse in the Wyrdness 90% of the time and the most random thing and horrifying thing can happen. I like how imposing the fog was in the early build but wish it did more than just..... spawn 1-2 skeleton? Perhaps if it were a portal to "end game randomly generate instance" then it be scary since getting caught in one mean death.
    Edit: after watching the video, I love the idea of what you guys are doing with nightime Wyrdness. I hope it is as tension as Dying Light game where most friendly NPC lock their door and dissapear at night and you are left to fend for yourself until dawn. I REALLY like the idea of seeing eldritch horror in the distant fog when the Wyrdness kick in. I hope the night time wyrdness turn this game into a survival horror, you could psychologically screw with your players at night with hallucination in Tainted Grail 1 game.

    I love the idea behind the changes to the wyrd being everywhere at night! I think this is unique and adds a whole new layer of exploration to the overworld. It definitely reminds me of Dragons Dogma with the unidentified items and it being actually dark at night. This does wonders for the immersion!

    Leave the blobs instead. Just add some interesting places behind this blob and make new enemies to spawn there, this is better than darker nights, limited fast travel and pain in the eyes.

    just hoping that it won't be a banal and flat 'night = hardmode' but actually involve mysteries that let you tap into something and build upon the world. Also there's a danger of pressing too much of the action strictly into poor lighting.

    My main issue with night time exploration is that it's night time. As a creator I get CONSTANT complaints from viewers about how dark nights are. This is not helped by the fact that 1. Many are viewing on mobile devices (around 50%) which means they are watching on a small screen and those screens often don't have the color reproduction depth that a nice IPS monitor would, and 2. The UA-cam video codec crunches the various shades of darkness down HARD and makes what might have been a barely visible area on my screen pitch black on theirs.
    To resolve this, I'd love to see some crazy environmental effects come into play during the night time Wyrdness. As an example, in Subnautica, night time exploration is spooky and beautiful due to the biolouminescent plant life. In Skyrim you have the brilliant auroras, and the fact that night time isn't super dark there is both lore and immersion friendly because of those northern lights.
    I like the idea of high risk/big reward at night.
    Campfire that is placable just about anywhere is a good idea so that players can skip the night if it becomes too much, although there's something to be said for the idea of having these safe zones be set places, similar to what Dark Souls does to create tension. That approach might be more difficult to balance for a more casual audience. Maybe a secondary difficulty mode to consider in the future? Current implementation should be fine as a safer option though. My only request is that it comes with a bedrolll or small tent + cooking pot (for "muh immersion!").

    Limiting fast travel and upscaling the difficulty is a great idea and i think much needed as by the end of 25 hrs of gameplay it pretty much became a point and click adventure. Really love the game and just cant wait for more content. Props to the Devs for really working hard on this game.

    Love the idea of the wyrdness mechanic, especially the darker, deadlier nights.
    I have some other feedback, if you get around to reading it: The world we have in the game so far feels great when it comes to the fantastical, but I'm always thrown out of the immersion because of a couple of things that work against it. Where do all the random and unexplicably hostile peasents and bandits come from? Do they just rob each other until they starve because nobody is hunting or actually working any fields? Maybe some peasents at least could be neutral in the day as long as you back off quickly enough, that would also work very well with your new wyrdness system. Maybe there could also be some fields and traces of people actually hunting and fishing (even in the horns of the south nobody can be seen working on getting food). A great (fantastical) apocalypse needs a mundane foundation to not feel hollow, in my opinion. Also it would be great to have better ways of telling hostile humans apart from neutral/friendly ones without the compass icons at the top of the screen. Just my two cents, I'm looking forward to the update!

    I love the game you guys are creating and have enjoyed playing through it multiple times. But PLEASE just keep the wyrdness "blob" as you called it. It made the map way more dynamic and interesting. Make it bigger...make it more dangerous, whatever. But please don't don't just turn this into a generic "Don't go out at night because we ramped up the stats of the enemies". The choice of risking fighting with the wyrdness storm (which is how I refer to it) approaching me was always an interesting dynamic. Or rushing around trying to loot enemies before being swallowed by the approaching storm added extra excitement. And the way it just slowly moves around swallowing up the world into the darkness was, I thought, an awesome mechanical and artistic choice. I am fully on board with what you guys want to do, but please don't implement it this way. There's far too many games that have abused the "everything is more dangerous at night" mechanic. It was one of the things I found refreshing about this game. If players can't figure out its night time because the sun isn't up and it's darker than it was when the sun was out, it just make it darker.

    Guys please focus more on performance issues. I've got a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro gaming laptop. Can't run the game on anything but low preset without heat issues.

    Like the wyrdness idea but the campfire thing is a little too souls-like right now. If I wanted more dark souls I would just play dark souls.

    Hey,so first off loving the game,the systems are awsome,the theme is great etc etc,however i am begging you....before you do more content please fix the performance,it is unacceptable that my top end pc that runs modern games on ultrawide with 90-100 fps maxed cant run THIS game at over 40 fps on low in many areas

    Can we get a map and quest log that show where i need to go.
    We already have this but not for all quests, i cant complete many quests in the game as there is no clue where to go, the game wants to be explore every inch ad talk to every NPC in hopes i find it, im not having my time wasted.

    I'm not sure I"m too keen on any sort of arbitrary limiting of fast travel. And hopefully there's OPTIONS to make dark not so pitch black dark ass dark. Some of us are willing to forego some immersion for the sake of convenient gameplay.
    You look like you've got quite the game going here but you're not the only game in existence. Some of us have dozens if not hundreds if not north of 1000+ games in our backlog and may not have the time/desire to "git gud" at your game. I'd rather spend time actually playing content in your game not figuring out how to get to the part where I get to play content in your game.

    I hope there is not all stuff will be in "unidentified item" category, but only small ones, like relics, jewelry, gems or etc.. and others, like sword or gloves, will be in respectively categories, like "unidentified sword", "unidentified gloves", because player is a sentient being and can distinguish sword from gloves, which should also have some default weight.
    getting a bow and a sock from two "unidentified item" would be weird)
