There is no one, not in the USA, not anywhere in the world right now that can sing as well as this young man. He has a powerful, perfectly tuned, and pitched voice, and his timing is impeccable. I am unable to figure out why this young man is not more successful that he appears, at least in my view, to be better known and more popular. I can only attribute that to the fact that these days, people can't recognize good singers any more. Mario, I have been a professional in the music business for 60 years. Yes, sixty. I've seen a lot of stars come and go. I first heard Billy when he sang O Holy Night at the age of twelve. I knew right then that this was the single best boy singer in the entire world - and I had travelled almost the entire civilized world by then. You can't be taught what this kid could do - you have to be born with it. His range, his power - similar in its way to Freddy Mercury - a confluence of will and physiology not to be seen again in our lifetimes. But rather than preaching to the choir, let me opine as to why Billy never achieved the superstar status he deserved. Total lack of effective management - and his agonizing personal struggle with his sexuality. Now that he has finally come out as gay, he is happier and healthier mentally. But he still lacks the coterie of management and promotional professionals every singer needs. You see, the world accepts gay men in show business - from Liberace to Sir Elton john, Ricky Martin, Freddie Mercury and hundreds of others, but they won't accept a gay boy. Billy was an effeminately gay boy at 12. Innocent, natural but obviously gay. The American public refused to accept that. It would blow their stupid fundamentalist "Christian" theory that gay is a choice all to hell. They can't allow themselves to face the truth that gay people are born that way. Its God's doing - and that reality messes up their hate - and voids their hate speech. The right wing, fundamentalist, born-again jackasses who to this day can't admit the existence of gay children have stunted more than one child - driven many to suicide, and ruined countless careers. I have never seen a greater talent, a more promising career wither like Billy's did at the hands of hate and prejudice. And THAT is why he's not a star today. God bless you Billy - I'm sorry I never got a chance to guide your career. Be happy, young man.

My daughter was in LOVE with him in 2000. She just sent me a link to his original recording of this song. We both used to get goosebumps at the crescendo "oh nIIIGHT... deVIIIIINE..." She's 30. He's married. I still get goosebumps. Thank you for sharing a "grownup Billy". Awesome.
Yes, I do indeed have a few, very few, favs of Christmas songs, his track of 'oh, Holy night' on hos bg Christmas!?! I can defenitly hear the pressure in his voice, valiantly trying to vocally capture and convey his prepubescent glory of his gift of this song!!!!!
He's gay - always has been - he and his manager - an old lady, lived in denial of it. The American public did not forgive. He was a victim of intense anti-gay prejudice and didn't handle it well. A shame, a great talent.
