Well their future is foreshadowed, like for example; Mateo reads the book at the wedding and says that someone said he’d be good at voice acting and then the narrator breaks his accent and says “for the record I am” which is saying Mateo becomes a voice actor/is the voice actor in the show and Janes book actually gets made into a telenovella cause she winks and all that.
also ( ik this comments late but i just rewatched season 5 today and in the episode where rafael tells jane that he doesnt want anymore kids- the episode where they go to the unitarian church- jane says maybe one of them will change their mind and then the narrator ( mateo) says that one of them did change their mind, so basically they insinuated that rafael and jane adopted.
