Actually lore wise the entire thing is just an audio recording made so helldivers would feel special. There is no way a General would actually personally oversee individual trainings of thausands of cadets.

There's only been one thing in the game thats given me Fallout vibes and thats 1 helmet that looks like the helmet from the cover of Fallout new vegas.

Battlefield injury simulator being a massive needle poking a hole in your chest had me rolling
The beggining of the clip has some serious Fallout 4 vibes entangled with the spirit and the lore of first Starships Trooper movie. Jesus Christ, so much nostalgic memories squeezed in a bunch of seconds.
Shout out to the hard working devs who puts this up together.
I like that you actually explore the area instead of just running missions
Game woulda been S tier if it got rid of the timed missions, had more exploration points per planet that allowed for EXP/Equipment gain, and allowed proper settlement building on liberated planets.
At this point it's a B tier game getting A tier recognition because people are bored.

I cannot tell you how agitated I am that the #1 search result for "Helldivers 2 gameplay" is a video of some bald guy spending 70% of the time showing himself talking about how awesome he thinks the game is, and 30% is actual gameplay footage. The algorithm sucks.

While Starship Troopers is a franchise, this game manages to…(Spread democracy!) grow beyond a Starship Troopers clone.
Starship Troopers actually has an FPS counter to this called Extermination. It's pretty fun, but this game definitely has more polish and content to offer. Still a banger fs

I remember playing the first Helldivers for hours and hours on the ps3. The constant deaths, specially to friendly fire, where hilarious. The change of POV feels a bit weird though. I liked the isometric view.

I think this game proves something important: You don't have to remake something to get fans of that thing to buy and enjoy it. As long as you can effectively capture the _spirit_ of that thing - as long as you can capture what people liked about the original - they won't care what it's called.
The most popular Starship Troopers game isn't even _called_ Starship Troopers. And they didn't even have to pay for the license.
I hope the studio execs will take notice of that.

In the prolog mission they litterly tell you to dive and crouch and lay down so you dont get hit but this guy doesnt play the game like it should be played he plays the game like his 40 iq tells him too
