Llamas are the best protectors we had two and they would stomp anyone or anything out for messing with our sheep. I highly recommend them and they are chill af.
Donkeys! They are the best protectors! And my donkeys are so damn sweet. When we had alpacas they didnt like attention at all but my donkey gives me kisses and cuddles ❤
@lived2def idk what Donkeys you've been around but Mine has been an amazing protector. He's killed 2 snakes and chased off a coyote. And I got donkeys because my friend has 2 that are also great protectors too. Her to trampled 2 coyotes to death
Collies are amazing working animals. Very quiet unless they are sounding the alarm. Good companions and they take their jobs very seriously. Smart and easy to train.
You can also get a Livestock Guardian Dog (lgd). LGD's require upfront training + some maintenance, like spiked collars and cropped ears (literally, actually for protection against coyotes/etc). If you go that route, I recommend a Turkish Boz Shepherd as their size + sound makes them (and your home) too scary for coyotes to begin with. If an LGD is too much work, donkeys are your best bet. They're so sweet to their herd but TERRORISTS to their enemies. We used to have a few them around growing up and they would literally carry around coyote carcasses for days afterward just to strut!
My neighbor had a donkey. His name was radar and I loved him. He actually didn’t make a bunch of noise. They basically only make noise when they’re excited. Whether that be happy excitement or they sense a predator excitement. Other than that they’re pretty chill.
Blue or Red Heelers are amazing cattle/ livestock dogs! Had a few over the years & really love them. Small enough to be an indoor & outdoor dog. Loyal, smart, sassy, super protective, fun & goofy. Will protect everyone & the property! You will always know when someone is coming up the driveway or not where they should be. Ngl if you get a boy make sure to neuter him. Had one male get loose & try to get it on with a ram lol. What made it worse was it was the damn dog catchers rescue ram nextdoor 😂. True story lol.
Oof, I would not go for that at all unless she's gonna both be very careful about where she gets it from PLUS is on her César Millán energy hardcore; people like raise or breed pits for shady purposes, and even if you get one that doesn't already have that baked in extra, they're still physically powerful as fvck. Unless she's good as heck at handling dogs and is willing to put in the time and energy for that plus require that of other folks in the household, I wouldn't risk it. And I definitely second the people talking about the professional training. Dogs are already naturally protective and territorial, but when you're talking about specifically trying to encourage that behavior extra, you really need to know what you're doing and how to be able to communicate to the dog when to chill the fvck out. You don't want a dog that ends up going after people or animals you don't want them to harm.
Horrible advice a pit has too high of a prey drive to have around livestock there’s dog that were literally created and bred over decades to do the job she needs to be done she needs to research which breed she prefers and go that route
Hey snow!!! If you read this than perfect !!! , you need 2 or 3 farm working dogs that fight, that’s what farmers normally do is have dogs but special kinds that hear coyotes far away
Three livestock guardian dogs are 120lbs easy & they have one that will naturally protect the flock while the other two will go and unalive the coyotes
My grandfather had 68 acres with cows, bulls, horses, sheep, goats, dogs, cats and almost everything you can imagine. The best thing you can get is a couple of guardian dogs they are the best or at least that’s what worked for him.
Get a blue heeler for sure I have one and he is great and great with my children ❤ or a kangal shepherd dog they are large livestock guardian dogs ❤❤ they are a Turkish breed and widely used for farms
I'd say donkey mostdef.... also lamas think, plus their mean af. Or Get a good dog like a German shepard blueheeler mix. Great protector for ppl around and the property itself... plus they are fearless my dog Moses is only like 8 months old and already like 5 foot tall on his back legs like a huge baby kangaroo, also love you snow stay up
I LOVE U SNOW.. ASK THE TIO's OR COYOTE TRAPS OR THICKER CHICKEN WIRED FENCE OR ELECTRICAL FENCE.. POBRECITAS CABRAS, OR A CEMENT SEMI-BARN WHERE COYOTES CAN'T DIG UNDER GROUND.. SAVE YOUR BABY GOATS 🐐 ❤️

I've just recently started to see you're activity online, I became a fan years ago. Can I say that I absolutely LOVE you coming on here asking for advice on how to protect your goats! Amazing, my favorite female artist sitting in this pink hat here 💚🐐
Hearing Snow having goat problems while trying to figure out whose baby goat came into my backyard. 🙃 I wanted the Cat Syndicate to bless me with a little one, not a goat. 😅
Llamas are super cool. They don't test the fence, they are independent and the tax write off is awesome. Llamas also do this weird thing where in the morning before and during the sunrise they will face the east and close their eyes and look like they are meditating or something. But, when they say llamas spit, they mean llamas projectile vomit... Which is odd.
You're so beautiful Girl, You got this 💯! Anyways for sure get yourself that bow and arrow LOL!! Seriously though, for sure a million percent most definitely Guardian Livestock Dogs!! Their fierce protectors and phenomenal with the herd!!! They are amazing! If it was me for sure I would get 3 off them and they cover all areas of attack 2 go out and The Third always stays and protects the herd
Great Pyrenees, Komondor, and Akbash, :) they’re good protectors for ranch or somebody who owns a ranch :) for hurting sheep, and goats, and all that kind of stuff
Great Pyrenees is what my family has to protect their livestock. If they're entering by jumping over your fence, Google coyote rollers... and hmu for that install.
As a farmhand, I've noticed that electric fences around their pen work extremely well. Although if you already have one then either a Jenny (a female donkey) or pair of Llama will also do the job. 🖤🖤🖤
You can get a pitbull or an actual livestock guardian dog would work. Some cow dog breeds will even herd your goats around for you. The coyotes eat my chickens, but I just have to make sure my birds stay in their yard area that has a tall fence around it to keep them safe. Also just saying it’s super cool that you have goats!
Donkey, those guys don't F around. Or a couple of guardian livestock dogs 💁♀️🐕
Get two llamas for that property tax cut. They protect your goats and the keep each other company
Llamas are the best protectors we had two and they would stomp anyone or anything out for messing with our sheep. I highly recommend them and they are chill af.
Getting a bow n arrow and I'm doing what my ancestors did LMAO 🤣

Donkeys! They are the best protectors! And my donkeys are so damn sweet. When we had alpacas they didnt like attention at all but my donkey gives me kisses and cuddles ❤
I’m not afraid to say how much I love donkeys lol they’re so cute and smart
@tylerstillabower9192 yes and very good protectors. Mine has already killed 2 snakes and chased off a coyote ❤️ he's a good boy
Alpaca's have scabies. Yuck that transfer to people. No alpaca's.
They're definitely NOT the best protectors but go off.😂
@lived2def idk what Donkeys you've been around but Mine has been an amazing protector. He's killed 2 snakes and chased off a coyote. And I got donkeys because my friend has 2 that are also great protectors too. Her to trampled 2 coyotes to death
Llamas and a donkey…and a bow…u can never be too prepared 🤷🏽♀️

Oh really? Those sound like solid ideas. We have fox here and they kill all of the chickens if they're accidentally left out of their coop at night.
Guardian dogs like Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Shepherds are great at protecting.
Great Pyrenees are amazing dogs my dad had one and he would protect the goats there’s lots of coyotes in Northern Cali hills
My neighbor had a donkey. His name was radar and I loved him. He actually didn’t make a bunch of noise. They basically only make noise when they’re excited. Whether that be happy excitement or they sense a predator excitement. Other than that they’re pretty chill.
Great Pyrenees is renowned for its calm demeanor and fierce protective instincts
Blue heeler dog... they protect all farm life❤
Yup guardian dogs. Quiet, loving. Work hard.

Oof, I would not go for that at all unless she's gonna both be very careful about where she gets it from PLUS is on her César Millán energy hardcore; people like raise or breed pits for shady purposes, and even if you get one that doesn't already have that baked in extra, they're still physically powerful as fvck.
