Hi Spicer they were on Fire records --early Pulp/Salvation. I worked in Crash around those times! they were pretty special times made so by the bands and music I think.
Love this song, love the imagery. Reminds me of record shopping trips to Leeds when i was young - Bad, Jumbo, Crash, etc and all the great bands who played the Duchess. Life was great then.
Haven't heard this track in 20 odd years. Have, from time to time, searched in the back of dusty old 2nd hand record stores for it with no avail. I remember it from an old NME video collection back in the day. Sublime.
The Duchesss, now there's a name I haven't heard in about 18 years! I saw the Wedding present play there on several occasions under the guise of other bands. Brilliant!
beautiful song, great hooks, great melodies. First heard this track on 'that' NME CND vid & the song has stayed with me in my head for 30yrs now! Think they might have re-recorded it a year or two later for their LP? but this version is for me the definitive one!
Loved this band, did an interview (via airmail, ah the old days...) for my fanzine “Chairs Missing” in 1979/80. Too bad they split up before they could play in the USA. Anyone know what happened to Fiona Gregg, the lead singer?
Thank you for uploading.
Magic Band.
Always has and still does (makes me cry). Beautifull.
never get tired of this song
