Very insightful words Kunle! As a fellow Nigerian-American who has spent time abroad, I definitely agree with your stance on language and treatment as a foreigner vs a Black man. Knowing the native language is an instant respect/trust buff and exposes you to so many cultural/societal norms. Definitely looking to spend more time internationally in the future 🙏 stay uppp and stay kreative 😼

And yes we are all Gaikokujin in Japan 😊 meaning Gai (outsider) from another country (Koku) and Jin for person 😊

I’m Japanese and been in the US since I was 7 years old and never got totally used to America. I often wished my parents never came to America and stayed in Japan.
Yeah, America is too caught up in race and you would think the largest melting pot, you would think we would have progressed after all these decades.
Continue to be a free thinker bc many of the black here in America have been brainwashed to be and think a certain way. Keep traveling and keep your mind open. Remember to get respect, you have to give it and not demand it and not do any changing yourself.
I think ppl. that are open minded to other cultures are more enlightened and have a better understanding of all ppl. Part of the ignorance is kept by not opening oneself to other cultures.
