that sounds messy

The idea of renting a better impression with an expensive wrist watch. The American dream has changed, don’t dream big and make it. Dream small and fake it!
@@readysetsleep I don’t agree. There are potential benefits to leasing a car, they need servicing far more often, and certainly aren’t a lifetime product, they depreciate much than an average watch, at some point you have to pay to scrap a car. A car is necessity for commuting or family life, a family may need a car. Nobody needs a luxury watch.
You could buy one nice watch and wear and enjoy it for life, generating memories along the way. Maybe servicing it once every 10 years. You can’t do that with a car in the same way. As for the Oscars, that’s one night and a load of show ponies, being show ponies. It’s not the same as some dude renting a watch to look good at the bar to his mates.
You build memories with a watch that is yours, it doesn’t even have to be expensive. My G-shock reminds me of a trip to India and seeing a tiger in the wild, the Taj Mahal etc.Renting a watch is superficial bs for shallow people.
kinda sad but true dont let that be your truth my good sir
@@readysetsleep not really... leasing a car is a different business! Another thing, 99% wouldn't know that you are using an expensive watch
Nah you’re being biased. Leasing a car is exactly the same. Many can rent a car they can’t actually afford to purchase. It’s the same.
@@LaMASIA-5611 No Im not, a car deprieciates very differently to a watch. Buy a one year old £30k car and see how much its worth in 5 years. Then do the same for a wristwatch. The difference is huge.
Watches retain most of they value after the initial hit on the retail sale. Not including the odd silly ones that sell over retail by Patek/Rolex etc.
A car is much more of an essential item for everyday life, getting to work etc. A luxury watch is not.
America the land of renting and leasing, anyone can look like a millionaire...

Watch guru translation: the person who forces the watches that they actually have available onto you...
Lol yeah that’s what I was thinking when he kinda dodged Michael’s question about 100 people wanting the same watch. I’m guessing the guru’s job includes promoting certain watches to keep that from happening.
Watch Guru:
- Rolex? At the wedding? How about this Kenneth Cole?

@@CemEke_CIO if possible then I wouldn't. however, the comparison is not really good. No thanks, I’ll stick to my Seiko.
I just use my phone to the time
Seikos are good watches!
I hear you. I'd rather buy and wear a $200 Seiko, or a $500 Hamilton than pay $200 or $500 a month to rent an Omega or another expensive watch I can't afford. At the end of the day all those people have is a bill and no watch, while I have a watch I can cherish for years and call mine....and I don't have to make monthly payments on it. I have more respect for a guy at Burger King wearing a Seiko or a Casio than I would for someone at Burger King wearing a Rolex he's paying rent on. One is an honest man living within his means, the other is just a fake and a liar.
@@salty-as-heck9915 OR try on a few, and get credit to buy after a while
@@MultiTictock I get your point but I decided to go a different route. I had actually saved enough money over this last year to buy an Omega Speedmaster (I know, I'm a hypocrite). But then I had second thoughts and I threw the money into ARKW, XT, and AIA shares when the stock market collapsed in March and more than doubled my money. I've had more fun doing that than if I was wearing that money on my wrist. I don't hate anyone for getting an Omega or Rolex. More power to them, but I think I'll stick with my lower tier watches and just throw the extra money at investments. Who knows, maybe in 10 years if I'm smart and consistent about investing and saving I'll finally buy myself a Rolex with some of my profits as a treat.... and pay cash instead of getting into debt or having to rent.
What a great idea The guy had a good answer for questions and seemed fair in his evaluations.
While the concept is cool, for me, as a watch collector, I feel like it ruins “the hunt” you know?
You got many 20K-60K watches in your collection?
'Diamonds fall off' yeah right...
With bad aftermarket full diamonds this could happen. So those ultra VIP watches are all aftermarket
Real authentic diamond watch never falls apart.. Only fake replica diamond watches will.. That business smells cheesy and they look like mafias. I wouldn't take my risk. Hell no.
@@user-sv8cr9ox1t exactly, shady af that place

There is such a great opportunity here, you could buy a 10K watch for example on finance, then give it to these guys to rent it out for you and let the monthly payments of your finance be paid for by someone renting it and then get free watch the end of it whilst also building your credit rating.
True.
It's like Rent a Swag from Parks and Rec
Lol. Yeah
Hahaha yes
kind of reminds me a business of mafia in a office with all this
It’s a cool concept. I saw this in the U.K. many years ago on a much smaller scale. Nice way to test drive a watch and see if it’s for you. Or experience a nice unobtainable watch or one you’re on a very long waiting list for. As for faking being Uber rich to your peers - well I’ll leave that to others not really my thing. But overall this is a natural progression of the luxury market. You can hire wedding suits and dresses why not go the whole hog and strap on a mad expensive watch. Just wondering about damage though. As ex dealer Paul Thorpe says, someone not intending to hang onto a watch can do more damage to it in a week than a careful owner would do in ten years.
2.05: you can buy a country somewhere with that earrings..
this guy seems shady..
describing the rolex presidential he says, " custom diamonds, factory its factory.."
Tyler
I noticed that too. The difference in the price is 50% from retail. Lol.
Crypto King exactly! Goes to show you must always check the paperwork and only buy with certified official documents.
Frankly saying, Bull...t, 15.000 USD per year? , Why not save the God damn money for a year and buy the watch.
It's basicly the same with nearly everthing you can rent. Most of my friends are now buying houses or apartments because they realised it's better than paying money to the landlord.
Same logic with leasing a car, you can wear a nicer watch than what you can afford. Sure, 18k/year to get that VIP tier, those watches are expensive, that AP royal oak is probably 70-90k. Does it make financial sense, probably not. But neither does leasing a car, yet a lot of wealthy people lease. Are they financially stupid?? No, they just don't want to drop 150k on an S class and then buy another when they get bored of it.
In short, if someone who wants to drive many cars, then they lease. If someone wants to wear many watches, then I can see them use this service
Because people don't know what is save money..
Society of today want the things "Now" not for tomorrow..
I use to say people need to be patience because for born they needed 9 months..

@@nelsongeada4930 Valid, that's another side of the consumer market. But it sounds like you're saying right now is the perfect time for this company - financial irresponsibility and Instagram likes at an all time high!
Interesting concept, but I think this requires a lot of trust. How exhaustive is the inspection of returning watches? Do they open the cases, send the watch back to the factory for a service? I could see how some unscrupulous watch maker / renter could harvest parts from a watch and substitute genuine parts for cheap Chinese parts.
Great content as always but it’s just not my cup of tea! I believe there is no point is trying to show off expensive stuff , just earn enough and buy the thing once and for all!
ArchieLuxury could have used this service for ten years...
Good idea but not for me watches are very personal
I think its a good business concept and it can work good.
It is nothing for me as a customer. I link memories to my watches and when you buy smart, it is possible to hold or gain value.
Just work for it and buy it.
I can understand it totally when you want to wear an exotic watch you would never buy, but want to experience it. Money should not be the limiting factor, wich is keeping from buying.

As a sage investor and purveyor may I share with you a rule that is never wrong 'if it appreciated buy it, if it depreciates lease it' - therefore buy a watch over 3 or 4 years on finance and it'll also go up, same with a house or art or fine wine. By contrast don't buy a car (unless neo-vintage or classic), helicopter, boat etc lease it and spend your money (or in fact 'place your money' is the term) in appreciating assets - this venture will fail also because fraudsters will say they have lost/had a theft of the piece and insurers will run for the hills after a few claims.
