examples: Brynden Rivers is born in the Crownlands and raised in the Crownlands, he is a Rivers because his mother was from the Riverlands.
Obara Sand born in Oldtown but not a Flowers
Ser Tyland Lannister the heritage is still there so I think that’s a constant
Dude, your videos are only reason i survive at work. Pop in the bluetooth and listen to you for hours lol.
Tywin met Aerys during his time as a cupbearer in the capital prior to the war of the nine penny kings.
The show leaving out the Tysha reveal really marks the beginning of its downfall
U r awesome!! Keep it up I need more!!!! Thanks
You should do a video on the biggest structures in ASoIAF. It would be awesome to learn how big the Five Forts are and if they're close in size to the Wall.
If I remember correctly the five forts in the ASOIAF are Bigger than the wall and made of the black stone that is common with other unusual structures
They're taller but no one has mentioned bigger, the wall is thicker and longer.@@keithgarcia7470
Tywin and Ned Stark were some of my favorite lords in this show
“These are my kids! Tywin, Tygett, Genna, Gerion, and........Kevan”
what Tywin has done to Tysha and Tyrion should not have been cut in the show.
It wasn't was it? It has been a while since I watched the show, but didn't Tyrion tell us about it when he first met Shae.
Bradley Westerman he did. But in the books Jamie tells Tyrion about the truth of Tysha, that she wasn’t a whore and that she truly loved Tyrion. Because of that Tyrion killed Tywin, in the books
Find it crazy how so many people defend Tywin and proclaim him one of the greatest characters. Let’s say he’s admirable, sure - he raised his house from a joke to one of the most feared houses in Westeros. But shit, Hitler lifted Germany from the Great Depression into an imperialist state, is he now admirable? Tywin slaughtered innocent women and children to make his house great. He was an evil man. And at the end of the day, he lost, it was all for nothing. He failed to create a legacy and ended up dying on the toilet - all because of his cruelty towards Tyrion. His cruelty destroyed his legacy, and ended up with his humiliating death. So many people fail to see the bigger picture with these characters - Tywin achieved many short term successes for his house, but he failed in the long term, catastrophically. And he only has himself to blame.
Amen
Now we have a based one here
Thank you. Too many people stan this fuck.

I think Kevan's submission came more out of comfort and duty than weakness. Some people prefer receiving orders than giving them. I do think that if Kevan lived longer he would have let go of the throne as soon as he could as it really isn't what he likes.
8:50
I don't think that is impossible. After all it could have been both, Tywin is one who would try to solve multiple problems.
@Freðrick Ólafursson. Indeed and I think in a lot of media that is treated as a bad thing.
Love the effort you put into these videos, thank you!
By being more Lion than his father.
Thanks. An extraordinary exposition.:)
Tywin was no king but when soldiers approached they always bent the knee
there is a gap in the narration that doesn't seem to explain the pretext for the war against Tarbeck and Reyne.
Arya made Tywin laugh/smile, but that might have just been in the show
Being a nice guy is critical to being an effective leader, a little popular support can go always, but you cant rule if all you do is speak the approval of others
Tyrion bout to kill Tywin: MY SWEET FATHER NUMPSAY!!!!!
You should do a video for each Targaryen King
The think your the best at what you do and keep it up please!! It a great show, every time you do one it's awesome!!!! Do more soooon Thanks you. Lord Stephen
"
"One family outright defied Tywin..."
Wonder how that went.
"House Reyne..."
Yep.
You wrote "twyin" in the title not tywin
I think tywin did see and appreciate tyrion, he knew he was smart and cunning, why else would he make him the hand of the king, at one of the most crucial times, tywin did turn to his son when he needed him the most because he was desperate.
Tywin is Charles Dance and Charles Dance is Tywin.
Actually I think that Tywin only weak more the position that the Lannister had in the realm that his father ever did, Tytos was a very weak Lord, but Tywin policy of making the other nobles fear you instead of respecting you only made the numbers of the Lannister enemies grow over the years, that, and the fact that Tywin was more worry about his legacy than his actual family, and his totally recklessness and blindness when it come to his immediate family made all fall apart in the end, let not speak that Tywin was a total hypocrite, bashing Tyrion for the same sins that he did in secret.
do I say not as I do that should of been one of his sayings
Like niccolo Machiavelli said... it is better to be feared than to be loved.
Did all the honour and respect ned had save him?
@@LegendInThaMakin No, but he didn't die assassinated on the toilet.
@@TheSpiritsLease he died a traitor's death with people cheering at his death
@@LegendInThaMakin Did that fear save Aerys? You push people hard enough and they will push back no matter the cost. However if they love you, they will follow you to the deepest hell, not because of fear, or because they have to, but because they want to, and this is much more powerful than simply forcing people to do your bidding.
@some guy He died knowing he did the right thing with his honor intact and his legacy remembered. Can you say the same thing when you die?
Thanks for the vid I love GoT lore
been awhile since we've seen a detailed map of some place, will we be seeing another one soon?????
This world is literally so fucking detailed it feels like I'm listening to real history. No wonder it takes this man years between books
Great job on these videos! If you haven't done one already , can you do one on the history of Maesters and the citadel
I demand a Tywin prequel show.
Your videos have been so interesting and informative.
Tywin is one of my favorite characters. He runs his family with a iron fist or iron paw 🦁
The fact that all this history subverts from the main story line of the Song of Ice and Fire makes you appreciate George's genius to world build.
it would be quite amusing if it was ever divulged that Jamie, Cersei where fathered by Aerys.... and Tyrion also... banging Johanna.... Which would mean that House Lannister has been "dead" of heirs long time ago and after Kevan and Lancel also gone then ALL direct line to Tytps was gone gone gone......
Nice family portrait at 12:06 .... Charles Dance with hair!!!!
Kevan and Lancel are still alive in the book
@@wiseguy01 Kevan isn't
@@dreamweaver5448 oh right, Varys assassinated him, I forgot
Not really house lannister is freaking huge.
Lannisport is filled with Lannisters.
Great stuff man!
Great vid again champ, keep it up.
Man, that must be hurt. But he keep working
Great job. I love these
What if cercie killed her mother by giving her some kind of poison so she can't tell her father and maybe that's the reason Tyrion being dwarf
Damn Tywin might be my favourite character in ASOIAF
Amazing ruler, horrible father
The westerosi sure are creative when naming their heroes. The guy is a Stark? The Wild Wolf! A Tully? The Black Fish! A Targaryen? Dragon something. At least the Red Viper doesn't have a damn snake in his coat of arms
we so need a roberts rebellion series right now...
Now that you mention it what was Tywin doing with Shae in the first place. It goes against his character.
Damn Tywin was out here playing ck2 while everyone was playing agot
love your videos man
Another Great one!!
I like how you called him the best lion instead of the old lion because that's what he is "great"
13:58 *Tyrion, not Tywin
Genna is over there looking like Pennywise 😂 Having a Frey for a spouse sounds right to me considering how they all look
Bruh for real tho🤣🤣🤣.. match made in hell
How do you build a castle underground but not have multiple ways to sneak out
Funny that Aerys paranoia in the case of Rhaegar was actually true.
Yo that tyrion thing was mad
Ever tried Afrin my friend? You sound very congested.
Ahhh when brienne said tyrion was married before sansa. When they were celebrating beating the night king. Tysha was his 1st. Never read the book.
M K you probably didn’t see the show either... cuz Tyrion clearly talked about this to bronn and the whore he fell in love with on the show, the night before the battle against the 1000 northmen in season 1..
Tywin was in Godzilla and was still a Lannister 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Machiavelli of Westeros!
No, that's Baelish
Archandon
Machiavelli was neither. He was a writer.
@@alexthelizardking yeah. Though which character did he inspire more? Hmm
Tywin is the ultimate deconstruction of the noble Lord archetype, not Ned.
I don't think he is a deconstruction at all. He is a benevolent tyrant.
marinus18
Tywin models himself after this archetype but doesn't follow it's example. Kinda like how joffrey pretends to be Prince charming.
@@equusquaggaquagga536 I thought that was just him showing proper etiquette.
Tywin's inspiration is from John of Gaunt and King edward the first. Deconstruction of what a real powerful noble lord is tywin the best example of a successful and a powerful political man in medieval standards.
I heard a conspiracy theory Tyrion may have been aerysy son
Is it just me or has anyone noticed how the great Lannister’s died in embarrassing ways. For example Gerald Lannister known as the great lion of the rock died from a bladder problem or how Tywin Lannister who was the most powerful man in Westeros at one point died on a shitter.
Die*
I think Jamie dodged a bullet by not marrying Lysa.
