I thought I was doing well right up until the beginning of the first repeat. This is by far the best tutorial ever! Question - how many rounds to make a large blanket - I am on my 3rd round of the repeat rounds 2-7 and I need to finish this by Friday and it is Wednesday for my mommy’s birthday she is going to love it!!!! What does everyone suggest?
For the 7th round, I am on my second repeat and my stitch count is off somehow. My 6th round has the correct amount of stitches. How many should I expect for each valley? Does this increase by 6 each round as well? Thank you lots.
Yes it does up by 6 on each side and if you’re counting from peak to peak. Check the join at the round and check that you actually did 5 in the dc round… if all else fails post a photo in my group and we will try to find it for you :)
Hiya I’m starting my repeat of round 2 and I’m unsure on how to follow, I start with the chain 2 dc2tog and then I can fit in 3 dc in the same space with the skipping of 2 sts every time but it doesn’t line up with my middle sc on my peak - could someone correct me on this?
@@isabelsamson8397 impossible to know what happened without seeing your work - make sure you follow the pattern and count your stitches, if they’re off you have to fix, can’t just keep going and improvise on this one. Post a photo in my Facebook group and we will look it over.
I just started crocheting this week so I'm only doing a single crochet patchwork blanket right now but I'm already thinking about what colors I'm gonna use when I make the 6 day star blanket! I really appreciate your detailed tutorial, it makes me feel like I can actually do it when I decide to give it a try.
i've been good so far but for some reason i'm not landing in the middle stitch for the 3 dcs skip 2 pattern, at 4:12 . i don't know why, i even redid my single crochet row and made sure every peak has 4 sc. i'm trying to count the number of stitches she has before starting round 2 with the 2dctogether, and it looks the same as mine...? but i'm not ending up in the middle stitch, i'm ending up in the one after it?! i'm one stitch ahead like i don't land at the 3rd stitch in the peak i land on 4th... i think something with my start is messing up but i'm going insane i think i fixed it by re-assessing where to stitch into to make the 2dctog, and i could have been disregarding the next stitch as a slip and accidentally skipping 3 at the beginning, i dunno that was weird i hope i haven't added any unnecessary stitches we'll see
@@jolarini hi! I’m just seeing this. That’s a really common error so that’s probably it. The other suggestion I wanted to make was make sure you understand which stitch is the middle one. We can look at your work in my Facebook group as well and help you out if you want to join there. I hope that helps :)

@@idkbrcm you’re probably using a lighter weight yarn, I was using a 5 or 6 weight. You can adjust the size by repeating as many rounds as you want to achieve the size you want. I hope that helps.
Hi! First thanks for the free patterns, video tutorials, and replying to questions! I’m working on the first of row 5 of the repeat rounds and cannot understand why I would have 10 stitches (scs from round 4) when the previous granny clusters have three sets of three. the sc I get is 9 along with the two dc3tog. I definitely don’t have 10 coming down the hill and stopping where you show in the video (kind of between the last DC before dc3tog) if I then skip 2 sts I am short going back up the hill. I’ve done rows 3 and 4 twice…. I’ve ripped back the last two rows to carefully redo and I’m having the same problem. I’ve joined the FB group but I don’t use it much at all and is completely foreign to me. Not sure why I bothered to join actually…. Not your fault. Just saying. Hope you can help?
@@jeniferepkey3426 I would only be guessing without seeing your work, which is why I suggest people join the group and post photos with their questions there. I can’t see your work here and I could only guess given what you’ve shared. I promise the pattern and the stitch counts are accurate.
@@jeniferepkey3426 also I don’t stop where you mentioned, I stop between the second and third dc of the last cluster. The math works as it’s not a multiple of 3. Dc3tog is only one stitch, so I don’t know where you’re getting three sets of three. Watch the video more closely. I hope that helps.
@@BettyMcKnit thank you for your reply. I will try to post a pic on FB. The three sets of three I’m referring to are the granny clusters. The two dc3tog are giving me one stitch each and those would be the two I skip. Is that correct? I get to 10 and I’m using the first one of those dc3tog…it’s my 10th. I’m sure the pattern is correct and it is user error. 😍 I just wish I could figure it out like everyone else and their brother seems to be able to. 😀

Hey betty! I love this patern so much ❤ but my question is. When you did the first row 2-7 can you still switch to the super nova patern? Or can you only work on the super nova after the startup rounds?

You may be adding or skipping a stitch somewhere else, I would have to see a photo to know for sure, but 4 in the peak is correct, it does not work with 3.

hi!! Question: I started my repeat of these rounds but I found that in round 2, the crochet together’s weren’t falling in the centre valley stitch :( I tried to work around it because I wasn’t sure but now I’m looking back and realizing that from valley to valley I had 3 3dc with the skip 2 on one side of the mountain while the other side had 4😭 I began to suspect that I wasn’t even doing the correct round because it had been a while since I worked on it but I’m really not sure. Any idea?
When something in this pattern isn’t working it’s usually bc there was a mistake, and I think I say in the video, don’t just keep going or “work around it” as you say. There is no way to fix it now without re doing it so it’s up to you if you rip it out or live with it.
Hey, hope you are all having a lovely day or night xx To any crochets out there, I have started making this blanket but I have found that the blanket is curling in on itself, when it is stretched out it is fine though. I was just wondering it this is due to it needing to be blocked or if I have made a mistake xx any advice is greatly appreciated xx
You should not be experiencing curling at this stage. Make sure your stitch counts are correct and if they are consider changing to a .5mm larger hook.

I referred to the online pattern and am still not sure why it’s uneven. I tried going on Facebook but haven’t gotten accepted to any of the groups. Hope someone here can help I don’t want to over work my yarn by unraveling a 3rd time :(

For the 7th round, I am on my second repeat and my stitch count is off somehow. My 6th round has the correct amount of stitches. How many should I expect for each valley? Does this increase by 6 each round as well? Thank you lots.

Do you keep everything you make that you tied a knot into?

So happy you got your crojo back
i've been good so far but for some reason i'm not landing in the middle stitch for the 3 dcs skip 2 pattern, at 4:12 . i don't know why, i even redid my single crochet row and made sure every peak has 4 sc. i'm trying to count the number of stitches she has before starting round 2 with the 2dctogether, and it looks the same as mine...? but i'm not ending up in the middle stitch, i'm ending up in the one after it?! i'm one stitch ahead like i don't land at the 3rd stitch in the peak i land on 4th... i think something with my start is messing up but i'm going insane
i think i fixed it by re-assessing where to stitch into to make the 2dctog, and i could have been disregarding the next stitch as a slip and accidentally skipping 3 at the beginning, i dunno that was weird i hope i haven't added any unnecessary stitches we'll see
@@jolarini hi! I’m just seeing this. That’s a really common error so that’s probably it. The other suggestion I wanted to make was make sure you understand which stitch is the middle one. You can use stitch markers as you make those stitches and mark the center one. The top of the stitch is above and to the right of the post of the stitch.

For the repeat round of double crochets do the double crochets together increase to or is it still two
Hi! First of all, thank you for this great tutorial, i managed to finish my setup round and this one in 1 day, so im crossing my fingers for a 6-day challenge. I wanted to ask about something, even though im in the same row as you are, my project is much little than yours. Nearly as half as yours. Is it a problem, what should i do?
Timestamp 48:50 is the place you mention where the 10th stitch should be: “should line up between these last two double crochet of these last three DC…”
